And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
2 Leleꞌ naa, hambu atahori hira mana manggate tungga Lamatualain.
And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
3 Te Saulus sangga dalaꞌ nakandooꞌ a fo tao doidꞌoso Yesus atahori nara. Ana sangga se sudꞌiꞌ a sia bee-bꞌee. Ana masoꞌ kalua tungga-tunggaꞌ a ume fo sangga se. Mae touꞌ do inaꞌ o, ana toꞌu fo tao se bui rala reu.
As for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
4 Onaꞌ mae atahori raꞌasususaꞌ Yesus atahori nara, losa ara rela sea-saranggaa, te ara nda raloeꞌ dui Lamatuaꞌ Yesus Dudꞌui Malole Na neu atahori sia bee-bꞌee.
Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. (logos)
5 Onaꞌ a, Filipus. Ana nisiꞌ kota esa sia nusa Samaria de dui atahori ra nae, Kristus fo Lamatualain dudꞌu eniꞌ a maꞌahulu na, naeni Yesus.
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 Ana tao manadadꞌiꞌ ra, ma atahori ra raꞌabꞌubꞌue fo rena malolole oꞌola Na.
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 Sia naa hambu atahori nitu taoꞌ ra. Nitu ra lao hela atahori ra no randu rahereꞌ. Atahori mamaluꞌuꞌ ro ei dokaꞌ hetar o hai reuꞌ ena boe.
For unclean spirits, (pneuma) crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 Naa de atahori mana sia kota naa ramahoꞌo seli.
And there was great joy in that city.
9 Sia naa hambu atahori mahineꞌ sa, naran Simon. Eniꞌ a dooꞌ ena, ana pake nitu mahine na neu atahori Samaria ra. Ana koa-koaꞌ ao na nae, “Au ia, manaseliꞌ!”
But there was a certain man, called Simon, which in time past in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:
10 Basa moko-anak, touꞌ-inaꞌ, sia kota naa, ola-olaꞌ Simon nara na rae, “Wii! Atahori ia, seli ma! Saa fo ana taoꞌ naa, mia Lamatualain koasa Na!”
To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.
12 Te ia naa, ara rena Filipus nanori Lamatualain parenda Na, ma natudꞌu dalaꞌ fo ara dadꞌi Lamatualain atahori Na, nendiꞌ Yesus nara Na. Rena basa ma, naeꞌ ramahere, de masoꞌ dadꞌi Lamatualain bobꞌonggi Na. Mae touꞌ do inaꞌ, ara nau dadꞌi taꞌo naa. Naa de, ara hambu sarani.
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 Simon o namahere ma nau dadꞌi Yesus atahori Na. De ara sarani e ma ana tungga Filipus sudꞌiꞌ a bee reu. Leleꞌ ana nita manadadꞌiꞌ fo Filipus taoꞌ ra, ana kakaler langgan, oi “We! Ia, seli tebꞌe!”
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
14 Leleꞌ naa, Lamatuaꞌ Yesus dedenu Nara mana sia Yerusalem rena rae atahori sia nusaꞌ Samaria ra ramahere Lamatualain Dedꞌea-oꞌola Na. Basa ma, ara denu Petrus no Yohanis naa reu.
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word (logos) of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
15 Ruꞌa se losa naa, dei de bubꞌuluꞌ atahori mana sia naa ra, nda feꞌe simbo Lamatualain Dula-dale Meumare Na sa. Ara feꞌe a hambu sarani pake Yesus nara Na. De Petrus no Yohanis ndae lima nara neu se, ma hule-oꞌe, roꞌe fo atahori Samaria ra o simbo Lamatualain Dula-dale Meumare Na. Boe ma, ara simbo neuꞌ ena.
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: (pneuma)
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
18 Simon o nita Petrus no Yohanis ndae lima nara reu atahori ra, ma ara simbo Lamatualain Dula-dale Na. De ana loo doiꞌ neu ruꞌa se, ma noꞌe nae,
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit (pneuma) was given, he offered them money,
19 “We! Ama nggare! Fee au koasa naa dei. Fo mete ma au tao lima ngga neu se ata, na ara simbo Lamatualain Dula-dale Meumare Na.”
Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
20 Te Petrus bua e nae, “Mate mopo nggo mo doi ma! Mbei ma ho mae bisa hasa Lamatualain Dula-dale Na no doiꞌ, do? Hokoꞌ! Atahori nda bisa hasa Lamatulain Dula-dale Na sa.
But Peter said unto him, Your money perish with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Ho sanggaꞌ a dala hahambuꞌ soaꞌ neu aom.
You have neither part nor lot in this matter: (logos) for your heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Doaꞌ tao salaꞌ leo. Malole lenaꞌ hule-oꞌe neu Lamatualain, fo onaꞌ bee naa, Ana fee ambon neu dudꞌuꞌa deꞌulaka ma.
Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
For I perceive that you are in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
Then answered Simon, and said, Pray all of you to the LORD for me, that none of these things which all of you have spoken come upon me.
And they, when they had testified and preached the word (logos) of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
26 Basa ma, Lamatualain ate Na esa mia sorga denu Filipus nae, “Ana ngge! Lao muu tungga dalaꞌ mana ona neu. Tungga dala mbaraaꞌ naa mana mia Yerusalem nisiꞌ kota Gasa.”
And the angel of the Lord spoke unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goes down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 Filipus rena parendaꞌ naa boe ma, ana lao neuꞌ ena. Losa dalaꞌ naa ma, nita atahori sa. Eni, atahori monaeꞌ sa mia nusa Etiopia. Ana mana tao mataꞌ neu ratu Kandake hata-heto nara. Ana feꞌe hule-oꞌe basa mia Yerusalem, de ana baliꞌ no kareta. Filipus nita e endoꞌ baca sia kareta ata. Ana baca Lamatulain mana ola-ola Na baꞌi Yesaya susura na.
And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem in order to worship,
Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Isaiah the prophet.
29 Lamatualain Dula-dale Na denu Filipus neu deka kareta fo nandaa no atahori naa.
Then the Spirit (pneuma) said unto Philip, Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.
30 Ana deka boe ma, rena atahori naa baca mia baꞌi Yesaya susura na. Natane nae, “Amaꞌ! Muhine saa fo bacaꞌ naa, do, hokoꞌ?”
And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, Understand you what you read?
31 Nataa nae, “Hokoꞌ. Musi atahori rafadꞌe au, dei fo uhine. Uma endoꞌ mo au sia ia.”
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
32 Susura fo ana bacaꞌ naa, lii na taꞌo ia: “Ara lea E, onaꞌ lea bibꞌi lombo, fo rae hala. Ana dadꞌi onaꞌ bibꞌi lombo anaꞌ fo atahori nggute fulu na, te nda naꞌamee sa. Ana nda nahara sa, ma nda nataa saa saꞌ boe.
The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
33 Ara raꞌamuti E; Ma raꞌetuꞌ sala dedꞌea Na. Ara tao risa E, te nda no sala Na saa saꞌ boe. Naa de, hai nda bisa olaꞌ mbei sa boe soꞌal tititi-nonosi Nara.”
In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.
34 Atahori monaen naa baca basa ma, natane Filipus nae, “Taꞌo bee? Baꞌi Yesaya olaꞌ naa neu ao na, do, olaꞌ neu atahori feaꞌ?”
And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray you, of whom speaks the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?
35 Basa de, Filipus nanori e, Lamatuaꞌ Yesus Dudꞌui Malole Na. Ana dui mia Yesaya susuran naa, ma mia susura feaꞌ ra boe, fo natudꞌu dalaꞌ tungga Yesus.
Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what does hinder me to be baptized?
37 [Basa ma Filipus nataa nae, “Mete ma amaꞌ mumuhere tebꞌe-tebꞌe Lamatuaꞌ Yesus, naa nda saa saꞌ boe. Ata onda fo au sarani amaꞌ.” Ana naꞌaheiꞌ nae, “Au umuhere tebꞌe-tebꞌeꞌ Yesus, fo Lamatualain dudꞌu mia dalahulu na neu. Eni, Lamatualain Ana Na.”]
And Philip said, If you believe with all of your heart, you may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
39 Ruaꞌ se dea reu mia oe a ma, Lamatualain Dula-dale Meumare Na nendi Filipus nisiꞌ mamana feaꞌ. Atahori monaen naa nda nita e sa ena. Dadꞌi ana lao nakandoo, no rala na namahoꞌo seli.
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit (pneuma) of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
40 Te aiboiꞌ ma Filipus losa kamboꞌ esa, naran Asotus. Mia naa, ana laoꞌ nakandoo fo nafadꞌe Yesus Dudꞌui Malole Na neu atahori. Ana lao tuli basa kamboꞌ losa kota Kaisarea.
But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
