Provérbios 31
1 As palavras do rei Lemuel - a revelação que sua mãe lhe ensinou:
The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
2 “Oh, meu filho! Oh, filho do meu ventre! Oh, filho dos meus votos!
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
3 Não dê sua força às mulheres, nem seus caminhos para aquilo que destrói os reis.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
4 Não é para reis, Lemuel, não é para os reis beberem vinho, nem que os príncipes digam: “Onde está a bebida forte?”.
It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
5 para que não bebam, e esqueçam a lei, e perverter a justiça devido a qualquer um que seja afligido.
lest they drink, and forget the decree, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
6 Dar bebida forte a quem está pronto para perecer, e vinho para os amargos de alma.
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.
7 Deixe-o beber, e esqueça sua pobreza, e não se lembre mais de sua miséria.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
8 Abra sua boca para o mudo, na causa de todos aqueles que ficam desolados.
Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
9 Abra sua boca, julgue com retidão, e servir à justiça para os pobres e necessitados”.
Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”
10 Quem pode encontrar uma mulher digna? Pois seu valor está muito acima dos rubis.
Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
11 O coração de seu marido confia nela. Ele não terá falta de ganho.
The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
12 Ela lhe faz bem, e não mal, todos os dias de sua vida.
She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
13 She procura lã e linho, e trabalha avidamente com suas mãos.
She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
14 She é como os navios mercantes. Ela traz seu pão de longe.
She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
15 Ela se levanta também enquanto ainda é noite, dá comida para sua casa, e porções para suas meninas serviçais.
She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
16 She considera um campo, e o compra. Com o fruto de suas mãos, ela planta um vinhedo.
She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
17 She arma sua cintura com força, e torna seus braços fortes.
She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
18 Ela percebe que sua mercadoria é lucrativa. Sua lâmpada não se apaga à noite.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
19 She impõe suas mãos ao pessoal, e suas mãos seguram o fuso.
She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
20 She abre seus braços para os pobres; sim, ela estende suas mãos para os necessitados.
She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
21 Ela não tem medo da neve para sua casa, para toda sua casa estão vestidas com escarlate.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She faz para si tapetes de tapeçaria. Suas roupas são de linho fino e roxo.
She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
23 Seu marido é respeitado nos portões, quando ele se senta entre os mais velhos da terra.
Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
24 She faz peças de linho e as vende, e entrega faixas para o comerciante.
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
25 Força e dignidade são suas roupas. Ela ri no momento que está por vir.
Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
26 She abre sua boca com sabedoria. A instrução amável está em sua língua.
She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.
27 Ela se parece bem com os costumes de sua casa, e não come o pão da ociosidade.
She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.
28 Seus filhos se levantam e a chamam de abençoada. Seu marido também a elogia:
Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
29 “Muitas mulheres fazem coisas nobres, mas você os supera a todos”.
“Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”
30 O encanto é enganoso, e a beleza é vã; mas uma mulher que teme Yahweh, ela será elogiada.
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
31 Entregue-lhe o fruto de suas mãos! Que os trabalhos a louvem nos portões!
Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!
