Provérbios 19
1 Melhor é o pobre que caminha em sua integridade do que aquele que é perverso em seus lábios e é um tolo.
Better is the poor who walks in his simplicity, than the rich who twists his lips and is unwise.
2 Não é bom ter zelo sem conhecimento, nem ser apressado com os pés e perder o caminho.
Where there is no knowledge of the soul, there is no good. And whoever hurries with his feet will stumble.
3 A insensatez do homem subverte seu caminho; seu coração se enfurece contra Yahweh.
The foolishness of a man undermines his steps. And then he seethes in his soul against God.
4 Wealth adiciona muitos amigos, mas os pobres estão separados de seu amigo.
Riches add many friends. But from the pauper, even those whom he had become separated.
5 Uma falsa testemunha não ficará impune. Aquele que derrama mentiras não deve sair livre.
A false witness shall not go unpunished. And whoever speaks lies will not escape.
6 Muitos suplicarão o favor de um governante, e todos são amigos de um homem que dá presentes.
Many honor the character of one who is powerful, and there are friends for a giver of gifts.
7 Todos os parentes dos pobres o evitam; quanto mais seus amigos o evitam! Ele os persegue com prazer, mas eles se foram.
The brothers of the poor man hate him. Moreover, even his friends have withdrawn far from him. Whoever pursues only words shall have nothing.
8 Aquele que adquire sabedoria ama sua própria alma. Aquele que mantém a compreensão deve encontrar o bem.
But whoever possesses reason loves his own soul. And one who guards prudence shall discover good things.
9 Uma falsa testemunha não ficará impune. Aquele que profere mentiras perecerá.
A false witness shall not go unpunished. And whoever speaks lies will perish.
10 Delicate viver não é apropriado para um tolo, muito menos para que um servo tenha domínio sobre príncipes.
Fine things are not fitting for the foolish, nor is it fitting for a servant to rule over princes.
11 A discrição de um homem o torna lento para a raiva. É sua glória ignorar uma ofensa.
The doctrine of a man is known through patience. And his glory is to pass beyond iniquities.
12 A ira do rei é como o rugido de um leão, mas seu favor é como o orvalho na grama.
Like the roaring of a lion, so also is the wrath of a king. And his cheerfulness is like the dew upon the grass.
13 Um filho insensato é a calamidade de seu pai. As brigas de uma esposa são um gotejamento contínuo.
A foolish son is the grief of his father. And an argumentative wife is like a roof that is continually leaking.
14 Casa e riquezas são uma herança dos pais, mas uma esposa prudente é de Yahweh.
A house and its riches are given by parents. But a prudent wife is particularly from the Lord.
15 Slothfulness entra em um sono profundo. A alma ociosa deve passar fome.
Laziness sends one into a deep sleep, and a dissolute soul will go hungry.
16 He que mantém o mandamento mantém sua alma, mas aquele que for desdenhoso em seus caminhos morrerá.
Whoever guards a commandment guards his own soul. But whoever neglects his own way will die.
17 Aquele que tem piedade dos pobres empresta a Javé; ele irá recompensá-lo.
Whoever is merciful to the poor lends to the Lord. And he will repay him for his efforts.
18 Discipline seu filho, pois há esperança; não seja uma parte disposta à sua morte.
Teach your son; do not despair. But do not set your soul toward putting him to death.
19 Um homem de temperamento quente deve pagar a penalidade, pois, se você o resgatar, deverá fazê-lo novamente.
Whoever is impatient will sustain damage. And when it has been taken away, he will set up another.
20 Ouça o conselho e receba instruções, que você possa ser sábio em seu último fim.
Listen to counsel and take up discipline, so that you may be wise in your latter days.
21 Há muitos planos no coração de um homem, mas o conselho de Yahweh prevalecerá.
There are many intentions in the heart of a man. But the will of the Lord shall stand firm.
22 O que faz com que um homem seja desejado é sua bondade. Um homem pobre é melhor que um mentiroso.
An indigent man is merciful. And a pauper is better than a deceitful man.
23 O medo de Yahweh leva à vida, depois ao contentamento; ele descansa e não será tocado por problemas.
The fear of the Lord is unto life. And he shall linger in plentitude, without being visited by disaster.
24 O preguiçoso enterra sua mão no prato; ele não o levará nem mesmo à boca novamente.
The lazy conceals his hand under his arm, and he will not so much as bring it to his mouth.
25 Flog a scoffer, e o simples aprenderá a prudência; repreenda aquele que tem entendimento, e ele ganhará conhecimento.
When the pestilent are scourged, the foolish will become wiser. But if you chastise the wise, he will understand discipline.
26 Aquele que rouba seu pai e expulsa sua mãe é um filho que causa vergonha e traz censuras.
Whoever afflicts his father and flees from his mother is disreputable and unhappy.
27 Se você parar de ouvir as instruções, meu filho, você se desviará das palavras do conhecimento.
Son, do not cease listening to doctrine, and do not be ignorant of the sermons of knowledge.
28 Uma testemunha corrupta escarnece da justiça, e a boca do malvado engula a iniqüidade.
An unjust witness ridicules judgment. And the mouth of the impious devours iniquity.
29 Penalties estão preparados para os zombadores, e espancamentos para as costas dos tolos.
Judgments are prepared for those who ridicule. And striking hammers are prepared for the bodies of the foolish.
