Marcos 10
1 Ele surgiu de lá e entrou nas fronteiras da Judéia e além da Jordânia. As multidões voltaram a se encontrar com ele. Como ele costumava fazer, ele estava novamente ensinando-os.
And he arose and went thence into the borders of Judea, by the other side of the Jordan. And the multitudes again came together to him; and, as his custom was, he taught them again.
2 Os fariseus vieram até ele testando-o e lhe perguntaram: “É lícito para um homem divorciar-se de sua esposa”?
And the Pharisees came to him, and that they might tempt him, asked him the question: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife?
3 Ele respondeu: “O que Moisés lhe ordenou”?
He answered and said to them: What commandment did Moses give you?
4 Eles disseram: “Moisés permitiu que um certificado de divórcio fosse escrito, e que ela se divorciasse”.
They replied: Moses permitted us to write a bill of divorce, and put her away.
5 Mas Jesus lhes disse: “Por vossa dureza de coração, ele vos escreveu este mandamento”.
And Jesus answered and said to them: On account of the hardness of your hearts, he wrote this commandment for you.
6 Mas, desde o início da criação, Deus os fez macho e fêmea.
But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female.
7 Por esta causa um homem deixará seu pai e sua mãe, e se unirá à sua esposa,
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife;
8 e os dois se tornarão uma só carne, para que não sejam mais dois, mas uma só carne.
and the two shall be one flesh. So, then, they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 O que, portanto, Deus uniu, que nenhum homem separe”.
Therefore, what God has joined together, let not man put asunder.
10 Na casa, seus discípulos lhe perguntaram novamente sobre o mesmo assunto.
And in the house, his disciples again asked him about the same matter.
11 Ele lhes disse: “Quem se divorciar de sua esposa e casar com outra comete adultério contra ela”.
And he said to them: Whoever puts away his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her;
12 Se a própria mulher se divorcia do marido e casa com outro, comete adultério”.
and if a woman puts away her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.
13 Eles estavam trazendo para ele crianças pequenas, para que ele as tocasse, mas os discípulos repreenderam aqueles que as estavam trazendo.
And they brought little children to him, that he might touch them: but his disciples rebuked those who brought them.
14 Mas quando Jesus viu isso, ficou indignado e disse-lhes: “Deixem as criancinhas vir até mim! Não os proíba, pois o Reino de Deus pertence a tais crianças.
And when Jesus saw it, he was displeased, and said to them: Let the little children come to me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Certamente eu lhes digo, quem não receber o Reino de Deus como uma criancinha, de modo algum entrará nele”.
Verily I say to you, Whoever will not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall not enter into it.
16 Ele os tomou em seus braços e os abençoou, impondo suas mãos sobre eles.
And he took them in his arms, laid his hands on them, and blessed them.
17 Quando ele estava indo para o caminho, correu para ele, ajoelhou-se diante dele e perguntou-lhe: “Bom Mestre, o que devo fazer para herdar a vida eterna?”. (aiōnios g166)
And as he was going forth into the road, one ran and bowed the knee to him, and asked him: Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
18 Jesus lhe disse: “Por que você me chama de bom? Ninguém é bom, exceto um deus.
Jesus said to him: Why do you call me good? None is good but one, that is God.
19 Você conhece os mandamentos: 'Não matar', 'Não cometer adultério', 'Não roubar', 'Não dar falso testemunho', 'Não defraudar', 'Honrar seu pai e sua mãe'”.
You know the commandments, You shall not commit adultery; You shall not kill; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; You shall not defraud; Honor your father and mother.
20 Ele lhe disse: “Professor, tenho observado todas essas coisas desde minha juventude”.
He answered and said to him: Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.
21 Jesus, olhando para ele, o amou e lhe disse: “Uma coisa lhe falta”. Vá, venda o que tiver e dê aos pobres, e terá um tesouro no céu; e venha, siga-me, pegue a cruz”.
And Jesus, looking on him, loved him, and said to him: One thing you lack; go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 Mas o rosto dele caiu diante daquele ditado, e ele foi embora triste, pois era um homem que tinha grandes posses.
But becoming sad at that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
23 Jesus olhou ao redor e disse a seus discípulos: “Como é difícil para aqueles que têm riquezas entrar no Reino de Deus”!
And Jesus looked around, and said to his disciples: With what difficulty will those who have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 Os discípulos ficaram maravilhados com suas palavras. Mas Jesus respondeu novamente: “Filhos, como é difícil para aqueles que confiam nas riquezas entrar no Reino de Deus!
And his disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus, answering again, said to them: Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
25 É mais fácil para um camelo atravessar o olho de uma agulha do que para um homem rico entrar no Reino de Deus”.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 Eles ficaram extremamente surpresos, dizendo a ele: “Então quem pode ser salvo?”
And they were astonished beyond measure, and said among themselves: Who, then, can be saved?
27 Jesus, olhando para eles, disse: “Com os homens é impossível, mas não com Deus, pois todas as coisas são possíveis com Deus”.
Jesus looked on them and said: With men this is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.
28 Peter começou a dizer-lhe: “Eis que deixamos tudo e te seguimos”.
And Peter began to say to him: Behold, we have left all and followed thee.
29 Jesus disse: “Certamente vos digo que não há ninguém que tenha deixado casa, ou irmãos, ou irmãs, ou pai, ou mãe, ou esposa, ou filhos, ou terra, por minha causa, e por causa da Boa Nova,
And Jesus answering, said: Verily I say to you, There is no one that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel,
31 Mas muitos que são os primeiros serão os últimos, e os últimos serão os primeiros”.
But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
32 Eles estavam a caminho, subindo para Jerusalém; e Jesus estava indo na frente deles, e eles ficaram espantados; e os que os seguiram ficaram com medo. Ele pegou novamente os doze e começou a contar-lhes as coisas que iriam acontecer com ele.
And they were in the road going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them; and they were amazed, and as they followed, they were afraid. And again taking the twelve aside, he began to tell them what was about to befall him.
33 “Eis que vamos subir a Jerusalém”. O Filho do Homem será entregue aos chefes dos sacerdotes e aos escribas”. Eles o condenarão à morte, e o entregarão aos gentios.
Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death, and deliver him to the Gentiles;
34 Eles o escarnecerão, cuspirão nele, o açoitarão e o matarão. Ao terceiro dia, ele se levantará novamente”.
and they will deride him, and scourge him, and spit upon him, and kill him, and on the third day he will rise again.
35 James e John, os filhos de Zebedee, aproximaram-se dele, dizendo: “Professor, queremos que você faça por nós o que pedirmos”.
And James and John the sons of Zebedee came to him, and said: Teacher, we desire you to do for us whatever we shall ask.
36 Ele lhes disse: “O que vocês querem que eu faça por vocês?”.
He said to them: What do you wish me to do for you?
37 Disseram-lhe: “Concede-nos que possamos sentar-nos, um à sua direita e outro à sua esquerda, em sua glória”.
They said to him: Grant to us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and one on thy left, in thy glory.
38 Mas Jesus disse a eles: “Vocês não sabem o que estão pedindo”. Vocês podem beber o cálice que eu bebo, e ser batizados com o batismo que eu sou batizado”?
Jesus said to them: You know not what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be immersed with the immersion with which I am immersed?
39 Eles lhe disseram: “Nós somos capazes”. Jesus lhes disse: “Bebereis de fato o cálice que eu bebo, e sereis batizados com o batismo com que eu sou batizado;
They said to him: We are able. Jesus said to them: You shall drink the cup that I drink, and you shall be immersed with the immersion with which I am immersed.
40 mas sentar-me à minha mão direita e à minha mão esquerda não é meu para dar, mas para quem ele foi preparado”.
But to sit on my right hand and on my left, is not mine to give; but it shall be given to those for whom it is prepared.
41 Quando os dez ouviram isso, começaram a ficar indignados com James e John.
And when the ten heard it, they began to be displeased with James and John.
42 Jesus os convocou e lhes disse: “Vós sabeis que aqueles que são reconhecidos como governantes sobre as nações os dominam, e os seus grandes exercem autoridade sobre eles”.
But Jesus called them to him, and said to them: You know that those who think they rule the Gentiles, act as lords over them; and their great men exercise authority over them.
43 Mas não será assim entre vós, mas aquele que quiser tornar-se grande entre vós será vosso servo.
But it shall not be so among you. But whoever desires to be great among you, shall be your minister;
44 Quem de vós quiser ser o primeiro entre vós, será servo de todos.
and whoever among you desires to be first, shall be servant of all.
45 Pois o Filho do Homem também não veio para ser servido, mas para servir, e para dar sua vida em resgate por muitos”.
For the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
46 Eles vieram para Jericó. Quando ele saiu de Jericó com seus discípulos e uma grande multidão, o filho de Timeu, Bartimeu, um mendigo cego, estava sentado à beira da estrada.
And they came to Jericho: and as he was going out of Jericho, with his disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus, was sitting on the roadside, begging.
47 Quando ouviu que era Jesus, o Nazareno, começou a gritar e dizer: “Jesus, filho de Davi, tem piedade de mim”!
And when he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say: Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!
48 Muitos o repreenderam, para que se calasse, mas ele gritou muito mais: “Filho de Davi, tem piedade de mim”!
And many rebuked him, that he should be silent. But he cried out yet the more: Son of David, have mercy on me!
49 Jesus parou e disse: “Chame-o”. Eles chamaram o cego, dizendo a ele: “Anime-se! Levantem-se. Ele está chamando você”!
And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they called the blind man, and said to him: Take courage; arise, he calls you.
50 Ele, jogando fora seu manto, saltou, e veio até Jesus.
And throwing away his mantle, he arose, and came to Jesus.
51 Jesus lhe perguntou: “O que você quer que eu faça por você”? O cego disse-lhe: “Rabboni, que eu possa ver novamente”.
And Jesus answered and said to him: What do you wish me to do for you? The blind man said to him: Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.
52 Jesus lhe disse: “Siga seu caminho”. Sua fé lhe fez bem”. Imediatamente ele recebeu sua visão e seguiu Jesus no caminho.
And Jesus said to him: Go, your faith has saved you. And he immediately received his sight, and followed Jesus on the road.
