Jó 40
1 Moreover Yahweh respondeu Job,
MOREOVER the Lord answered Job, and said,
2 “Será que aquele que argumenta deve contender com o Todo-Poderoso? Aquele que discute com Deus, deixe-o responder”.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Então Job respondeu Yahweh,
Then Job answered the Lord, and said,
4 “Eis que eu sou de pequena conta. O que lhe responderei? Eu coloco minha mão sobre minha boca.
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Já falei uma vez e não vou responder; Sim, duas vezes, mas não prosseguirei”.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 Então Yahweh respondeu Job fora do redemoinho:
Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 “Agora prepare-se como um homem. Eu o questionarei, e você me responderá.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Você vai ao menos anular meu julgamento? Vai me condenar, para que possa ser justificado?
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Ou você tem um braço como Deus? Você pode trovejar com uma voz como ele?
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 “Agora se enfeita com excelência e dignidade. Arraigar-se com honra e majestade.
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Pour para fora da fúria de sua raiva. Olhe para todos que se orgulham, e o traga para baixo.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Olhe para todos que se orgulham e o humilhem. Esmagar os ímpios em seu lugar.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Escondê-los juntos na poeira. Amarrar seus rostos no lugar escondido.
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 Então eu também admitirei a você que sua própria mão direita pode salvá-lo.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 “Veja agora behemoth, que eu fiz tão bem quanto você. Ele come grama como um boi.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Veja agora, sua força está em suas coxas. Sua força está nos músculos de sua barriga.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 Ele move sua cauda como um cedro. Os nervos de suas coxas são tricotados.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His os ossos são como tubos de bronze. Seus membros são como barras de ferro.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 Ele é o chefe dos caminhos de Deus. Aquele que o fez dá-lhe sua espada.
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Certamente, as montanhas produzem alimentos para ele, onde todos os animais do campo brincam.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 Ele está deitado sob as árvores de lótus, na coberta da palheta, e no pântano.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 Os lótus o cobrem com sua sombra. Os salgueiros do riacho o cercam.
The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Veja, se um rio transborda, ele não treme. Ele está confiante, embora o Jordão incha até a boca.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 Shall qualquer um o pegue quando ele estiver no turno, ou furar-lhe o nariz com uma armadilha?
He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
