Amós 1
1 As palavras de Amós, que estava entre os pastores de Tecoa, que ele viu a respeito de Israel nos dias de Uzias, rei de Judá, e nos dias de Jeroboão, filho de Joás, rei de Israel, dois anos antes do terremoto.
The message of Amos, one of the sheep breeders of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the reign of King Uzziah of Judah, and in the reign of Jeroboam the son of King Joash of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
2 disse ele: “Yahweh bramirá de Zion, e pronunciar sua voz a partir de Jerusalém; e os pastos dos pastores chorarão, e o topo do Carmel murchará”.
Amos said: Whenever the Lord roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, the pastures of the shepherds dry up, the top of Carmel becomes arid.
3 diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Damasco, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque eles debulharam Gilead com instrumentos de debulha de ferro;
The Lord says: For Damascus’ three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron.
4 but Vou mandar um incêndio para a casa de Hazael, e devorará os palácios de Ben Hadad.
Therefore I will send fire on Hazael’s house, it will devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
5 Vou quebrar a barra de Damasco, e cortar o habitante do vale de Aven, e aquele que segura o ceptro da casa do Éden; e o povo da Síria irá em cativeiro para Kir”. diz Yahweh.
I will break open the gate of Damascus, I will wipe out those who live in the valley of Aven and the sceptred ruler of Beth-Eden. The people of Aram will go into captivity in Kir, says the Lord.
6 diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Gaza, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque levaram em cativeiro toda a comunidade, para entregá-los à Edom;
The Lord says: For Gaza’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They carried away captive a whole nation, sold them as slaves to Edom.
7 but Enviarei um incêndio no muro de Gaza, e devorará seus palácios.
Therefore I will send fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her palaces.
8 Vou cortar o habitante de Ashdod, e aquele que detém o ceptro de Ashkelon; e eu vou virar minha mão contra Ekron; e o remanescente dos filisteus perecerá”. diz o Senhor Yahweh.
And I will wipe out those who live in Ashdod, and the sceptred ruler of Askelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines will perish, says the Lord.
9 diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Tiro, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição; porque eles entregaram toda a comunidade à Edom, e não se lembrava do convênio fraterno;
The Lord says: For Tyre’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They carried away captive a whole people into exile in Edom, and did not remember the brotherly covenant.
10 but Vou mandar um incêndio na parede de Tyre, e devorará seus palácios”.
So I will send fire on the walls of Tyre. It will devour her palaces.
11 diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões de Edom, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque ele perseguiu seu irmão com a espada e lançar fora toda piedade, e sua raiva se enfurecia continuamente, e ele manteve sua ira para sempre;
The Lord says: For Edom’s three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They pursued their relatives with the sword, stilled their pity, cherished their anger continually, retained their fury forever.
12 but Vou mandar um incêndio em Teman, e devorará os palácios de Bozrah”.
So I will send a fire into Teman. It will destroy the palaces of Bozrah.
13 diz Yahweh: “Para três transgressões das crianças de Ammon, sim, para quatro”, Eu não vou recusar sua punição, porque rasgaram as mulheres grávidas de Gilead, que eles possam ampliar sua fronteira.
The Lord says: For Ammonites’ three crimes – no, four! – I will not rescind my judgment. They have ripped open pregnant women in Gilead, in their lust for land.
14 Mas eu acenderei um fogo na parede de Rabbah, e devorará seus palácios, com gritos no dia da batalha, com uma tempestade no dia do redemoinho;
So I will kindle a fire on the wall of Rabbah. It will destroy her palaces, with a war-cry in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind.
15 e seu rei irão para o cativeiro, ele e seus príncipes juntos”. diz Yahweh.
Their king will go into exile, he and his nobles together, says the Lord.
