1 Agora são aqueles que vieram a David para Ziklag enquanto ele era um fugitivo de Saul, o filho de Kish. Eles estavam entre os homens poderosos, seus ajudantes na guerra.
Now these are those who came to David to Ziklag while he was a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish. They were amongst the mighty men, his helpers in war.
2 They estavam armados com arcos, e podiam usar tanto a mão direita quanto a esquerda em pedras de funda e em atirar flechas do arco. Eles eram parentes de Saul, da tribo de Benjamin.
They were armed with bows, and could use both the right hand and the left in slinging stones and in shooting arrows from the bow. They were of Saul’s relatives of the tribe of Benjamin.

The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; Jeziel and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth; Beracah; Jehu the Anathothite;
4 Ismaías o Gibeonita, um homem poderoso entre os trinta e um líder dos trinta; Jeremias; Jaaziel; Johanan; Jozabad, o Gederatita;
Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man amongst the thirty and a leader of the thirty; Jeremiah; Jahaziel; Yochanan; Jozabad the Gederathite;
5 Eluzai; Jerimoth; Bealia; Shemaria; Shephatiah, o harufita;
Eluzai; Jerimoth; Bealiah; Shemariah; Shephatiah the Haruphite;
6 Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer e Jashobeam, os coraítas;
Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, and Jashobeam, the Korahites;
7 e Joelah e Zebadiah, os filhos de Jeroham de Gedor.

8 Alguns gaditas se juntaram a Davi na fortaleza no deserto, homens valentes, homens treinados para a guerra, que sabiam manejar escudo e lança; cujos rostos eram como os rostos dos leões, e eram tão rápidos quanto as gazelas nas montanhas:
Some Gadites joined David in the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valour, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear; whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains:
9 Ezer o chefe, Obadiah o segundo, Eliab o terceiro,
Ezer the chief, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,
10 Mishmannah o quarto, Jeremias o quinto,
Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,
11 Attai o sexto, Eliel o sétimo,
Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,
12 Johanan o oitavo, Elzabad o nono,
Yochanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,
13 Jeremiah o décimo, e Machbannai o décimo primeiro.
Jeremiah the tenth, and Machbannai the eleventh.
14 These dos filhos de Gad eram capitães do exército. Aquele que era menor era igual a cem, e o maior a mil.
These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army. He who was least was equal to one hundred, and the greatest to one thousand.
15 Estes são aqueles que atravessaram o Jordão no primeiro mês, quando este transbordou todas as suas margens; e puseram em fuga todos os que viviam nos vales, tanto para o leste como para o oeste.
These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all who lived in the valleys, both towards the east and towards the west.
16 Algumas das crianças de Benjamin e Judah vieram para a fortaleza de David.
Some of the children of Benjamin and Judah came to the stronghold to David.
17 David saiu ao encontro deles e lhes respondeu: “Se vocês vieram pacificamente a mim para me ajudar, meu coração estará unido a vocês; mas se vocês vieram para me trair aos meus adversários, já que não há nenhum mal em minhas mãos, que o Deus de nossos pais veja isso e o repreenda”.
David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see this and rebuke it.”
18 Então veio o Espírito sobre Amasai, que era o chefe dos trinta, e disse: “Somos teus, David, e ao teu lado, filho de Jessé”. Paz, paz seja contigo, e paz seja com teus ajudantes; pois teu Deus te ajuda”. Então David os recebeu e os fez capitães da banda.
Then the Spirit came on Amasai, who was chief of the thirty, and he said, “We are yours, David, and on your side, you son of Jesse. Peace, peace be to you, and peace be to your helpers; for your God helps you.” Then David received them and made them captains of the band.
19 Some de Manasseh também se juntou a Davi quando ele veio com os filisteus contra Saul para lutar, mas eles não os ajudaram, pois os senhores dos filisteus o mandaram embora após consulta, dizendo: “Ele desertará para seu amo Saul para o perigo de nossas cabeças”.
Some of Manasseh also joined David when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle, but they didn’t help them, for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, “He will desert to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.”
20 Quando ele foi para Ziklag, alguns de Manasseh se juntaram a ele: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, e Zillethai, capitães de milhares que eram de Manasseh.
As he went to Ziklag, some from Manasseh joined him: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who were of Manasseh.
21 Eles ajudaram David contra o bando de raiders, pois eram todos homens poderosos e de valor e eram capitães do exército.
They helped David against the band of raiders, for they were all mighty men of valour and were captains in the army.
22 Pois de dia para dia os homens vinham a David para ajudá-lo, até que houvesse um grande exército, como o exército de Deus.
For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like God’s army.
23 These são os números dos chefes dos que estavam armados para a guerra, que vieram a David para Hebron para entregar o reino de Saul a ele, segundo a palavra de Javé.
These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the LORD’s word.
24 Os filhos de Judá que carregavam escudo e lança eram seis mil e oitocentos, armados para a guerra.
The children of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
25 Dos filhos de Simeão, poderosos homens de valor para a guerra: sete mil e cem.
Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valour for the war: seven thousand and one hundred.
26 Dos filhos de Levi: quatro mil e seiscentos.
Of the children of Levi: four thousand and six hundred.
27 Jehoiada era o líder da família de Aarão; e com ele três mil setecentos,
Jehoiada was the leader of the household of Aaron; and with him were three thousand and seven hundred,
28 e Zadok, um jovem poderoso de valor, e da casa de seu pai vinte e dois capitães.
and Zadok, a young man mighty of valour, and of his father’s house twenty-two captains.
29 Dos filhos de Benjamim, parentes de Saul: três mil, pois até então, a maior parte deles havia mantido sua lealdade à casa de Saul.
Of the children of Benjamin, Saul’s relatives: three thousand, for until then, the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to Saul’s house.
30 Dos filhos de Efraim: vinte mil e oitocentos, poderosos homens de valor, homens famosos na casa de seus pais.
Of the children of Ephraim: twenty thousand and eight hundred, mighty men of valour, famous men in their fathers’ houses.
31 Da meia tribo de Manassés: dezoito mil, que foram mencionados pelo nome, para vir e fazer Davi rei.
Of the half-tribe of Manasseh: eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.

Of the children of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their heads were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their command.
33 De Zebulom, que podiam sair no exército, que podiam organizar a batalha com todos os tipos de instrumentos de guerra: cinqüenta mil que podiam comandar e não eram de coração duplo.
Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array with all kinds of instruments of war: fifty thousand who could command and were not of double heart.
34 De Naftali: mil capitães, e com eles, com escudo e lança, trinta e sete mil.
Of Naphtali: one thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty-seven thousand.
35 Dos dinamarqueses que puderam ordenar a batalha: vinte e oito mil e seiscentos.
Of the Danites who could set the battle in array: twenty-eight thousand and six hundred.
36 De Asher, tais como os que puderam sair no exército, que puderam ordenar a batalha: quarenta mil.
Of Asher, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array: forty thousand.
37 Do outro lado do Jordão, dos rubenitas, dos gaditas e da meia tribo de Manassés, com todo tipo de instrumentos de guerra para a batalha: cento e vinte mil.
On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all kinds of instruments of war for the battle: one hundred and twenty thousand.
38 Todos estes eram homens de guerra que podiam ordenar a batalha, e vieram com um coração perfeito a Hebron para fazer Davi rei sobre todo Israel; e todo o resto de Israel também tinha um só coração para fazer Davi rei.
All these were men of war who could order the battle array, and came with a perfect heart to Hebron to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
39 Eles estiveram lá com Davi três dias, comendo e bebendo; pois seus irmãos haviam fornecido provisões para eles.
They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had supplied provisions for them.
40 Além disso, aqueles que estavam perto deles, até Issachar, Zebulun e Naftali, traziam pão sobre burros, camelos, mulas e bois: suprimento de farinha, bolos de figos, cachos de passas, vinho, azeite, gado e ovelhas em abundância; pois havia alegria em Israel.
Moreover those who were near to them, as far as Issachar, Zebulun, and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, on camels, on mules, and on oxen: supplies of flour, cakes of figs, clusters of raisins, wine, oil, cattle, and sheep in abundance; for there was joy in Israel.
