Salmos 49
1 Salmo para o regente, dos filhos de Coré: Ouvi isto, vós todos os povos; dai ouvidos, todos os moradores do mundo;
To victorie, a salm to the sones of Chore. Alle ye folkis, here these thingis; alle ye that dwellen in the world, perseyue with eeris.
2 vós, povo, filhos dos homens, tanto os ricos como os pobres.
Alle the sones of erthe and the sones of men; togidere the riche man and the pore in to oon.
3 Minha boca falará da sabedoria; e o pensamento do meu coração [estará cheio de] entendimento.
Mi mouth schal speke wisdom; and the thenkyng of myn herte schal speke prudence.
4 Inclinarei meus ouvidos a uma parábola; ao [som] da harpa declararei o meu enigma.
I schal bouwe doun myn eere in to a parable; Y schal opene my resoun set forth in a sautree.
5 Por que temeria eu nos dias do mal, [quando] a maldade dos meus adversários me cercar?
Whi schal Y drede in the yuel dai? the wickidnesse of myn heele schal cumpasse me.
6 Eles confiam em seus bens, e se orgulham da abundância de suas riquezas.
Whiche tristen in her owne vertu; and han glorie in the multitude of her richessis.
7 Mas ninguém pode livrar o seu irmão, nem pagar a Deus o seu resgate,
A brother ayenbieth not, schal a man ayenbie? and he schal not yyue to God his plesyng.
8 porque a redenção da sua alma é caríssima, e sempre será insuficiente
And he schal not yyue the prijs of raunsum of his soule; and he schal trauele with outen ende,
9 para viver eternamente, e jamais ver a cova.
and he schal lyue yit in to the ende.
10 Pois se vê que os sábios morrem, que o tolo e o bruto igualmente perecem; e deixam suas riquezas a outros.
He schal not se perischyng, whanne he schal se wise men diynge; the vnwise man and fool schulen perische togidere. And thei schulen leeue her richessis to aliens;
11 Seu pensamento interior é que suas casas serão perpétuas, que suas moradas durarão de geração em geração; dão às terras os seus próprios nomes.

12 Mas o ser humano, ainda que em honra, não dura para sempre; semelhante é aos animais, que perecem.
A man, whanne he was in honour, vndurstood not; he is comparisound to vnwise beestis, and he is maad lijk to tho.
13 Este é o caminho dos tolos e dos seus seguidores, que se agradam de suas palavras. (Selá)
This weie of hem is sclaundir to hem; and aftirward thei schulen plese togidere in her mouth.
14 São como ovelhas levados ao Xeol; a morte se alimentará deles. Os corretos os dominarão pela manhã, e sua beleza será consumida no Xeol, longe de sua morada. (Sheol h7585)
As scheep thei ben set in helle; deth schal gnawe hem. And iust men schulen be lordis of hem in the morewtid; and the helpe of hem schal wexe eld in helle, for the glorie of hem. (Sheol h7585)
15 Mas Deus resgatará a minha alma da violência do mundo dos mortos, pois ele me tomará [consigo]. (Selá) (Sheol h7585)
Netheles God schal ayenbie my soule from the power of helle; whanne he schal take me. (Sheol h7585)
16 Não temas quando um homem enriquece, quando a glória de sua casa se engrandece.
Drede thou not, whanne a man is maad riche; and the glorie of his hows is multiplied.
17 Pois ele, quando morrer, nada levará; nem sua glória o seguirá abaixo.
For whanne he schal die, he schal not take alle thingis; and his glorie schal not go doun with him.
18 Ainda que, em vida, tenha pronunciado a si mesmo a bênção “Louvam-te ao fazeres o bem a ti”,
For his soule schal be blessid in his lijf; he schal knouleche to thee, whanne thou hast do wel to hym.
19 ele, porém, se juntará à geração de seus pais; nunca mais verão a luz.
He schal entre til in to the generaciouns of hise fadris; and til in to with outen ende he schal not se liyt.
20 O homem em posição de honra que não tem entendimento é semelhante aos animais, que perecem.
