Amós 6
1 Ai dos que estão tranquilos em Sião, e dos que se sentem seguros no monte de Samaria, que são os príncipes da principal das nações, aos quais o povo de Israel vem!
Woe to them that set at nothing Sion, and that trust in the mountain of Samaria: they have gathered [the harvest of] the heads of the nations, and they have gone in themselves.
2 Passai a Calné, e vede; e dali ide à grande Hamate; depois descei a Gate dos filisteus; por acaso são aqueles reinos melhores que estes, ou seu território maior que vosso território?
O house of Israel, pass by all [of you], and see; and pass by thence to Ematrabba; and thence descend to Geth of the Philistines, the chief of all these kingdoms, [see] if their coasts are greater than your coasts.
3 Vós que pensais estar distante o dia mau, e aproximais o assento da violência;
You who are approaching the evil day, who are drawing near and adopting false sabbaths;
4 Eles se deitam em camas de marfim, e se estendem sobre seus leitos; comem os cordeiros do rebanho, e os bezerros de em meio do curral;
who sleep upon beds of ivory, and live delicately on their couches, and eat kids out of the flocks, and sucking calves out of the midst of the stalls;
5 Cantam ao som da harpa, e inventam para si instrumentos musicais, como Davi;
who excel in the sound of musical instruments; they have regarded them as dwelling, not as fleeting [pleasures];
6 Bebem vinho em tigelas, e se ungem com o óleo mais valioso; mas não se afligem pela ruína de José.
who drink strained wine, and anoint themselves with the best ointment; and have suffered nothing on occasion of the calamity of Joseph.
7 Por isso agora serão os primeiros a serem levados presos ao cativeiro, e o banquete dos que vivem no conforto se acabará.
Therefore now shall they depart into captivity from the dominion of princes, and the neighing of horses shall be cut off from Ephraim.
8 O Senhor DEUS jurou por si mesmo; o SENHOR Deus dos exércitos diz: Eu abomino a arrogância de Jacó, e odeio seus palácios; por isso entregarei a cidade e tudo que ela tem [ao inimigo].
For the Lord has sworn by himself, [saying], Because I abhor all the pride of Jacob, I do also hate his countries, and I will cut off [his] city with all who inhabit it.
9 E acontecerá que, se dez homens restarem em uma casa, mesmo eles morrerão.
And it shall come to pass, if there be ten men left in one house, that they shall die.
10 E quando seu parente vier para queimar [os cadáveres], para tirar os ossos de casa, então dirá ao que estiver dentro da da casa: Há ainda alguém contigo? E ele responderá: Não. Então aquele dirá: Cala-te! Não menciones o nome do SENHOR.
But a remnant shall be left behind, and their relations shall take them, and shall strenuously endeavor to carry forth their bones from the house: and one shall say to the heads of the house, Is there yet [any one] else with you? And he shall say, No [one] else. And [the other] shall say, Be silent, that you name not the name of the Lord.
11 Porque eis que o SENHOR mandará, e ferirá a casa maior com quebrantamento, e a casa menor com despedaçamento.
For, behold, the Lord commands, and he will strike the great house with breaches, and the little house with rents.
12 Por acaso correm os cavalos pelos rochedos? Pode-se arar [ali] com bois? Porém vós pervertestes o juízo em veneno, e o fruto da justiça no amargo absinto.
Will horses run upon rocks? will they refrain from neighing at mares? for you have turned judgment into poison, and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness:
13 Vós que vos alegrais por nada, que dizeis: Não conquistamos Carnaim por nossa própria força?
you who rejoice at vanity, who say, Have we not possessed horns by our own strength?
14 Diz o SENHOR Deus dos exércitos: Pois eis que eu levantarei contra vós, ó casa de Israel, uma nação que vos oprimirá desde a entrada de Hamate até o ribeiro de Arabá.
For behold, O house of Israel, I will raise up against you a nation, says the Lord of hosts; and they shall afflict you so that you shall not enter into Aemath, and as it were [from] the river of the wilderness.
