2 Crônicas 18

1 Tinha, pois, Josafá riquezas e glória em abundância, e estabeleceu parentesco com Acabe.

And Iehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, but he was ioyned in affinitie with Ahab.

2 E depois de alguns anos desceu a Acabe a Samaria; por o que matou Acabe muitas ovelhas e bois para ele, e para a gente que com ele vinha: e persuadiu-lhe que fosse com ele a Ramote de Gileade.

And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.

3 E disse Acabe rei de Israel a Josafá rei de Judá: Queres vir comigo a Ramote de Gileade? E ele respondeu: Como eu, assim também tu; e como teu povo, assim também meu povo: iremos contigo à guerra.

And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.

4 Ademais disse Josafá ao rei de Israel: Rogo-te que consultes hoje a palavra do SENHOR.

And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.

5 Então o rei de Israel juntou quatrocentos profetas, e disse-lhes: Iremos à guerra contra Ramote de Gileade, ou ficarei eu quieto? E eles disseram: Sobe, que Deus os entregará em mão do rei.

Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.

6 Mas Josafá disse: Há ainda aqui algum profeta do SENHOR, para que por ele perguntemos?

But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lord that wee might inquire of him?

7 E o rei de Israel respondeu a Josafá: Ainda há aqui um homem pelo qual podemos preguntar ao SENHOR: mas eu lhe aborreço, porque nunca me profetiza coisa boa, a não ser sempre mal. Este é Micaías, filho de Inlá. E respondeu Josafá: Não fale assim o rei.

And the King of Israel sayd vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whome wee may aske counsell of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophesie good vnto me, but alway euil: it is Michaiah the sonne of Imla. Then Iehoshaphat said, Let not the King say so.

8 Então o rei de Israel chamou um eunuco, e disse-lhe: Faze vir logo a Micaías filho de Inlá.

And the King of Israel called an eunuche, and said, Call quickly Michaiah the sonne of Imla.

9 E o rei de Israel e Josafá rei de Judá, estavam sentados cada um em seu trono, vestidos de suas roupas; e estavam sentados na eira à entrada da porta de Samaria, e todos os profetas profetizavam diante deles.

And the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne clothed in their apparel: they sate euen in the threshing floore at the entring in of the gate of Samaria: and all the Prophets prophesied before them.

10 E Zedequias filho de Quenaaná se havia feito chifres de ferro, e dizia: Assim disse o SENHOR: Com estes chifrarás aos sírios até destruí-los de todo.

And Zidkiah ye sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites vntill thou hast consumed them.

11 De esta maneira profetizavam também todos os profetas, dizendo: Sobe a Ramote de Gileade, e sei próspero; porque o SENHOR a entregará em mão do rei.

And all the Prophets prophesied so, saying, Go vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.

12 E o mensageiro que havia ido a chamar a Micaías, lhe falou, dizendo: Eis aqui as palavras dos profetas a uma boca anunciam ao rei bens; eu, pois, te rogo que tua palavra seja como a de um deles, que fales bem.

And the messenger that went to call Michaiah, spake to him, saying, Beholde, the wordes of the Prophets declare good to the King with one accord: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speake thou good.

13 E disse Micaías: Vive o SENHOR, que o que meu Deus me disser, isso falarei. E veio ao rei.

And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer my God saith, that will I speake.

14 E o rei lhe disse: Micaías, iremos a lutar contra Ramote de Gileade, ou ficarei eu quieto? E ele respondeu: Subi, que sereis prosperados, que serão entregues em vossas mãos.

So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I leaue off? And he said, Goe yee vp, and prosper, and they shalbe deliuered into your hand.

15 E o rei lhe disse: Até quantas vezes te conjurarei pelo nome do SENHOR que não me fales a não ser a verdade?

And the King sayd to him, Howe oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell mee nothing but the trueth in the Name of the Lord?

16 Então ele disse: Eis visto a todo Israel derramado pelos montes como ovelhas sem pastor: e disse o SENHOR: Estes não têm senhor; volte-se cada um em paz em sua casa.

Then he said, I saw al Israel scattered in the mountaines, as sheepe that haue no shepheard: and the Lord sayd, These haue no Master: let them returne euery man to his house in peace.

17 E o rei de Israel disse a Josafá: Não te havia eu dito que não me profetizaria bem, mas sim mal?

And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would not prophesie good vnto me, but euill?

18 Então ele disse: Ouvi, pois, a palavra do SENHOR: Eu vi ao SENHOR sentado em seu trono, e todo o exército dos céus estava a sua mão direita e a sua esquerda.

Againe hee saide, Therefore heare ye the worde of the Lord: I sawe the Lord sit vpon his throne, and all the hoste of heauen standing at his right hand, and at his left.

19 E o SENHOR disse: Quem induzirá a Acabe rei de Israel, para que suba e caia em Ramote de Gileade? E um dizia assim, e outro dizia de outra maneira.

And the Lord sayd, Who shall perswade Ahab King of Israel, that he may go vp, and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one spake and said thus, and another said that.

20 Mas saiu um espírito, que se pôs diante do SENHOR, e disse: Eu lhe induzirei. E o SENHOR lhe disse: De que modo?

Then there came forth a spirit and stoode before the Lord, and said, I will perswade him. And the Lord said vnto him, Wherein?

21 E ele disse: Sairei e serei espírito de mentira na boca de todos os profetas. E o SENHOR disse: Incita, e também prevalece: sai, e faze-o assim.

And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets. And hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.

22 E eis que agora pôs o SENHOR espírito de mentira na boca destes teus profetas; mas o SENHOR decretou o mal acerca de ti.

Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a false spirit in the mouth of these thy Prophets, and the Lord hath determined euill against thee.

23 Então Zedequias filho de Quenaaná se chegou a ele, e feriu a Micaías na face, e disse: Por que caminho se separou de mim o espírito do SENHOR para falar a ti?

Then Zidkiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah vpon the cheeke, and sayde, By what way went the Spirit of the Lord from me, to speake with thee?

24 E Micaías respondeu: Eis aqui tu o verás aquele dia, quando te entrarás de câmara em câmara para esconder-te.

And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see that day when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.

25 Então o rei de Israel disse: Tomai a Micaías, e voltai-o a Amom governador da cidade, e a Joás filho do rei.

And the King of Israel sayde, Take ye Michaiah, and cary him to Amon the gouernour of the citie, and to Ioash the Kings sonne,

26 E direis: O rei disse assim: Ponde a este no cárcere, e sustentai-lhe com pão de aflição e água de angústia, até que eu volte em paz.

And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction vntil I returne in peace.

27 E Micaías disse: Se tu voltares em paz, o SENHOR não falou por mim. Disse ademais: Ouvi o, povos todos.

And Michaiah said, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he saide, Heare, all ye people.

28 Subiu, pois, o rei de Israel, e Josafá rei de Judá, a Ramote de Gileade.

So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.

29 E disse o rei de Israel a Josafá: Eu me disfarçarei para entrar na batalha: mas tu veste-te tuas roupas. E disfarçou-se o rei de Israel, e entrou na batalha.

And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, I will change my selfe, and enter into the battel: but put thou on thine apparel. So the King of Israel changed himselfe, and they went into the battel.

30 Havia o rei de Síria mandado aos capitães dos carros que tinha consigo, dizendo: Não luteis com pequeno nem com grande, a não ser somente com o rei de Israel.

And the King of Aram had commanded the captaines of the charets that were with him, saying, Fight you not with small, nor great, but against the King of Israel onely.

31 E como os capitães dos carros viram a Josafá, disseram: Este é o rei de Israel. E cercaram-no para lutar; mas Josafá clamou, e ajudou-o o SENHOR, e apartou-os Deus dele:

And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayde, It is the King of Israel: and they compassed about him to fight. But Iehoshaphat cryed, and the Lord helped him and moued them to depart from him.

32 Pois vendo os capitães dos carros que não era o rei de Israel, desistiram de persegui-lo.

For when the captaines of the charets saw that hee was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.

33 Mas disparando um o arco ao acaso, feriu ao rei de Israel entre as junturas e a armadura. Ele então disse ao condutor do carro: Volta tua mão, e tira-me do campo, porque estou gravemente ferido.

Then a certaine man drewe a bowe mightily, and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine: Therefore he saide to his charetman, Turne thine hand, and carie mee out of the host: for I am hurt.

34 E intensificou a batalha aquele dia, por o que esteve o rei de Israel em pé no carro em frente dos sírios até a tarde; mas morreu a pôr do sol.

And the battel increased that day: and the King of Israel stood still in his charet against the Aramites vntil euen, and dyed at the time of the sunne going downe.
