1 Samuel 27

1 E disse Davi em seu coração: Ao fim serei morto algum dia pela mão de Saul: nada portanto me será melhor que fugir à terra dos filisteus, para que Saul se deixe de mim, e não me ande buscando mais por todos os termos de Israel, e assim me escaparei de suas mãos.

And Dauid said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: is it not better for me that I saue my selfe in the lande of the Philistims, and that Saul may haue no hope of me to seeke me any more in all the coastes of Israel, and so escape out of his hand?

2 Levantou-se, pois Davi, e com os seiscentos homens que tinha consigo passou-se a Aquis filho de Maoque, rei de Gate.

Dauid therefore arose, and he, and the sixe hundreth men that were with him, went vnto Achish the sonne of Maoch King of Gath.

3 E morou Davi com Aquis em Gate, ele e os seus, cada um com sua família: Davi com suas duas mulheres, Ainoã jezreelita, e Abigail, a que foi mulher de Nabal o do Carmelo.

And Dauid dwelt with Achish at Gath, he, and his men, euery man with his housholde, Dauid with his two wiues, Ahinoam the Izreelite, and Abigail Nabals wife the Carmelite.

4 E veio a nova a Saul que Davi se havia fugido a Gate, e não o buscou mais.

And it was tolde Saul that Dauid was fled to Gath: so he sought no more for him.

5 E Davi disse a Aquis: Se achei agora favor em teus olhos, seja-me dado lugar em algumas das cidades da terra, de onde eu habite; por que teu servo deverá morar contigo na cidade real?

And Dauid saide vnto Achish, If I haue nowe founde peace in thine eyes, let them giue me a place in some other citie of the countrey, that I may dwell there: for why should thy seruant dwel in ye head citie of the kingdome with thee?

6 E Aquis lhe deu aquele dia a Ziclague. De aqui foi Ziclague dos reis de Judá até hoje.

Then Achish gaue him Ziklag that same day: therefore Ziklag pertaineth vnto the kings of Iudah vnto this day.

7 E foi o número dos dias que Davi habitou na terra dos filisteus, quatro meses e alguns dias.

And the time that Dauid dwelt in the countrey of the Philistims, was foure moneths and certaine dayes.

8 E subia Davi com os seus, e faziam entradas nos gesuritas, e nos gersitas, e nos amalequitas: porque estes habitavam de longo tempo a terra, desde como se vai a Sur até a terra do Egito.

Then Dauid and his men went vp, and inuaded the Geshurites, and the Girzites, and the Amalekites: for they inhabited the lande from the beginning, from the way, as thou goest to Shur, euen vnto the lande of Egypt.

9 E Davi aquela terra, e não deixava com vida homem nem mulher; e levava as ovelhas, as vacas, os asnos e os camelos e as roupas; e voltava, e vinha a Aquis.

And Dauid smote the lande, and left neither man nor woman aliue, and tooke sheepe, and oxen, and asses, and camels, and apparell, and returned and came to Achish.

10 E dizia Aquis: Onde atacastes hoje? E Davi dizia: Ao sul de Judá, e ao sul de Jerameel, ou contra o sul dos queneus.

And Achish said, Where haue ye bene a rouing this day? And Dauid answered, Against the South of Iudah, and against the South of the Ierahmeelites, and against the South of ye Kenites.

11 Nem homem nem mulher deixava à vida Davi, que viesse a Gate; dizendo: Porque não deem aviso de nós, dizendo: Isto fez Davi. E este era seu costume todo aquele tempo que morou em terra dos filisteus.

And Dauid saued neither man nor woman aliue, to bring them to Gath, saying, Lest they should tel on vs, and say, So did Dauid, and so will be his maner all the while that he dwelleth in the countrey of the Philistims.

12 E Aquis confiava em Davi, dizendo assim: Ele se faz abominável em seu povo de Israel, e será meu servo para sempre.

And Achish beleeued Dauid, saying, He hath made his people of Israel vtterly to abhorre him: therefore he shalbe my seruant for euer.
