Zacarias 2

1 Tornei a levantar os meus olhos, e vi, e eis aqui um homem em cuja mão estava um cordel de medir.

Then I looked up and saw a man with a measuring line in his hand.

2 E eu disse: Para onde vais tu? E ele me disse: Vou a medir Jerusalém, para ver qual é a sua largura e qual o seu comprimento.

I said, ‘Where are you going?’ He replied, ‘To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its breadth and length.’

3 E eis que saiu o anjo que falava comigo, e outro anjo lhe saiu ao encontro.

Then the messenger who talked with me stepped forward, and another messenger went out to meet him,

4 E disse-lhe: Corre, fala a este mancebo, dizendo: Jerusalém será habitada como as aldeias sem muros, por causa da multidão dos homens e dos animais que estarão no meio dela.

and said to him, ‘Run and tell to that young man that Jerusalem will be inhabited like a village without walls, because so many people and cattle will live there.

5 E eu, diz o Senhor, serei para ela um muro de fogo em redor, e serei para glória no meio dela.

For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire her, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.

6 Olá, oh! fugi agora da terra do norte, diz o Senhor, porque vos estendi pelos quatro ventos do céu, diz o Senhor.

Up! Away! Flee from the land of the north, says the Lord. For I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heavens, says the Lord.

7 Olá, Sião! livra-te tu, que habitas com a filha de Babilônia.

Up, escape to Zion, you who live in Babylon.

8 Porque assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Depois da glória ele me enviou às nações que vos despojaram; porque aquele que tocar em vós toca na menina do seu olho.

This is what the Lord of hosts says to the nations which plundered you: Whoever touches you touches the apple of my eye.

9 Porque eis que levantarei a minha mão sobre eles, e eles virão a ser a preza daqueles que os serviram: assim sabereis vós que o Senhor dos exércitos me enviou.

I will raise my hand against them. They will be plunder for their own slaves; and you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me.

10 Exulta, e alegra-te ó filha de Sião, porque eis que venho, e habitarei no meio de ti, diz o Senhor.

‘Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion! I am coming, I will live among you, says the Lord.

11 E naquele dia muitas nações se ajuntarão ao Senhor, e me serão por povo, e habitarei no meio de ti, e saberás que o Senhor dos exércitos me enviou a ti

Many nations will join themselves to the Lord in that day, and will be his people, and he will live among you. You will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.

12 Então o Senhor herdará a Judá por sua porção na terra santa, e ainda escolherá a Jerusalém.

The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land. He will again choose Jerusalem.

13 Cala-te, toda a carne, diante do Senhor, porque ele se despertou da sua santa morada.

Be silent, everyone, in the presence of the Lord, because he is coming from his holy dwelling.’
