Romanos 1

1 Paulo, servo de Jesus Cristo, chamado para apóstolo, separado para o evangelho de Deus,

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, a called apostle, set apart to preach the gospel of God,

2 Que antes havia prometido pelos seus profetas nas santas escrituras,

which he had promised before by his prophets in the Holy Scriptures,

3 Acerca de seu Filho, que foi gerado da descendência de David segundo a carne,

the gospel concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David as to the flesh,

4 Declarado Filho de Deus em poder, segundo o espírito de santificação, pela ressurreição dos mortos, Jesus Cristo Nosso Senhor,

and shown with power to be the Son of God as to his spirit of holiness, by the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord;

5 Pelo qual recebemos a graça e o apostolado, para a obediência da fé entre todas as gentes pelo seu nome,

through whom we received grace and the office of an apostle in behalf of his name, in order to produce obedience to the faith among all nations;

6 Entre os quais sois também vós, os chamados de Jesus Cristo.

among whom are ye also, the called of Jesus Christ;

7 A todos os que estais em Roma, amados de Deus, chamados santos: Graça e paz de Deus nosso pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

to all the beloved of God at Rome, called, holy: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

8 Primeiramente dou graças ao meu Deus por Jesus Cristo, acerca de vós todos, porque em todo o mundo é anunciada a vossa fé.

In the first place, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

9 Porque Deus, a quem sirvo em meu espírito no evangelho de seu Filho, me é testemunha de como incessantemente faço menção de vós

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how constantly I make mention of you, always in my prayers

10 Rogando sempre em minhas orações que em algum tempo, pela vontade de Deus, se me ofereça boa ocasião de ir ter convosco.

supplicating that, if it be possible, I may at last through the will of God be favored with an opportunity of coming to you.

11 Porque desejo ver-vos, para vos comunicar algum dom espiritual, afim de que sejais confortados;

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, which may be for your confirmation;

12 Isto é: para que juntamente convosco eu seja consolado pela fé mútua, assim vossa como minha.

that is, that I may be edified among you, and you also, through each other's faith, both yours and mine.

13 Porém, irmãos, não quero que ignoreis que muitas vezes propuz ir ter convosco (mas até agora tenho sido impedido) para também ter entre vós algum fruto, como também entre os demais gentios.

But I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that I often purposed to come to you, though I have been hindered hitherto, that I might have some fruit of my labors among you also, as among the other gentiles.

14 Eu sou devedor, tanto a gregos como a bárbaros, tanto a sábios como a ignorantes.

I am debtor both to Greeks and barbarians, both to the wise and the unwise.

15 Assim que, quanto a mim, estou pronto para também vos anunciar o evangelho, a vós que estais em Roma.

So, according to my ability, I am ready to preach the gospel to you also in Rome.

16 Porque não me envergonho do evangelho de Cristo, pois é o poder de Deus para salvação a todo aquele que crê; primeiro ao judeu, e também ao grego.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel; for to every believer, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, it is the power of God unto salvation.

17 Porque nele se descobre a justiça de Deus de fé em fé, como está escrito: Mas o justo viverá da fé.

For therein is revealed the righteousness which is of God from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”

18 Porque do céu se manifesta a ira de Deus sobre toda a impiedade e injustiça dos homens, que detém a verdade em injustiça.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all impiety and unrighteousness of men, who keep down the truth in unrighteousness.

19 Porquanto o que de Deus se pode conhecer neles está manifesto; porque Deus lho manifestou.

Because that which may be known of God is manifest within them; for God made it manifest to them.

20 Porque as suas coisas invisíveis, desde a criação do mundo, tanto o seu eterno poder, como a sua divindade, se entendem, e claramente se veem pelas coisas que estão criadas, para que fiquem inexcusáveis; (aïdios g126)

For, ever since the creation of the world, his invisible attributes, even his eternal power and divinity, being perceived from his works, are clearly seen, so that they might be without excuse. (aïdios g126)

21 Porquanto, tendo conhecido a Deus, não o glorificaram como Deus, nem lhe deram graças, antes em seus discursos se desvaneceram, e o seu coração insensato se obscureceu.

Because though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God, nor were they thankful to him; but became perverse in their reasonings, and their senseless minds were darkened;

22 Dizendo-se sábios, tornaram-se loucos.

professing to be wise, they became fools,

23 E mudaram a glória do Deus incorruptível em semelhança de imagem de homem corruptível, e de aves, e de quadrúpedes, e de réptis.

and for the glory of the incorruptible God they substituted images of corruptible man, and of birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things.

24 Pelo que também Deus os entregou às concupiscências de seus corações, à imundícia, para desonrarem seus corpos entre si:

Wherefore God also gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to debase their bodies with one another;

25 Pois mudaram a verdade de Deus em mentira, e honraram e serviram mais a criatura do que o criador, que é bendito eternamente. amém. (aiōn g165)

because they changed the true God for false gods, and adored and worshipped created things rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

26 Pelo que Deus os abandonou às paixões infames. Porque até as suas mulheres mudaram o uso natural, no contrário à natureza.

For this cause God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women indulged in unnatural lust,

27 E, semelhantemente, também os varões, deixando o uso natural da mulher, se inflamaram em sua sensualidade uns para com os outros, varão com varão, cometendo torpeza e recebendo em si mesmos a recompensa que convinha ao seu erro.

and in like manner the men also, neglecting the natural use of the female, burned with lust for one another, men with men practising that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves the due recompense of their error.

28 E, como eles se não importaram de reconhecer a Deus, assim Deus os entregou a um sentimento perverso, para fazerem coisas que não convém;

And as they did not choose to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do things which are shameful;

29 Estando cheios de toda a iniquidade, fornicação, malícia, avareza, maldade; cheios de inveja, homicídio, contenda, engano, malignidade;

being filled with all unrighteousness, malice, covetousness, wickedness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity; backbiters,

30 Murmuradores, detratores, aborrecedores de Deus, injuriadores, soberbos, presunçosos, inventores de males, desobedientes aos pães e às mães;

slanderers, hated of God, insolent, proud, boasters, inventors of mischief, disobedient to parents,

31 Néscios, infieis nos contratos, sem afeição natural, irreconciliáveis, sem misericórdia;

senseless, faithless, without natural affection, without pity;

32 Os quais, conhecendo a justiça de Deus (que são dignos de morte os que praticam tais coisas), não somente as fazem, mas também consentem aos que as fazem.

who, although knowing the ordinance of God, that they who practise such things deserve death, not only do them themselves, but approve of those who do them.
