Salmos 30

1 Exaltar-te-ei, ó Senhor, porque tu me exaltaste; e não fizeste com que meus inimigos se alegrassem sobre mim.

A psalm of David. A song for the dedication of the Temple. I will extol you, O Lord, because you have lifted me up, and not suffered my foes to rejoice over me.

2 Senhor, meu Deus, clamei a ti, e tu me saraste.

I cried to you for help, O Lord my God, and you healed me.

3 Senhor, fizeste subir a minha alma da sepultura: conservaste-me a vida para que não descesse ao abismo. (Sheol h7585)

You have brought me up, Lord, from Sheol, from my way to the pit back to life you have called me. (Sheol h7585)

4 Cantai ao Senhor, vós que sois seus santos, e celebrai a memória da sua santidade.

Sing praise to the Lord, faithful people; give thanks to his holy name.

5 Porque a sua ira dura só um momento; no seu favor está a vida: o choro pode durar uma noite, mas a alegria vem pela manhã.

For his anger lasts only a moment, his favour endures for a lifetime. Weeping may lodge for the night, but the morning brings shouts of joy.

6 Eu dizia na minha prosperidade: Não vacilarei jamais.

When all went well, I imagined that never should I be shaken.

7 Tu, Senhor, pelo teu favor fizeste forte a minha montanha: tu encobriste o teu rosto, e fiquei perturbado.

For by your favour, O Lord, you had set me on mountains strong: but you hide your face, and I was confounded.

8 A ti, Senhor, clamei, e ao Senhor supliquei.

Then to you, Lord, I cried, to the Lord I begged for mercy,

9 Que proveito há no meu sangue, quando desço à cova? Porventura te louvará o pó? anunciará ele a tua verdade?

‘What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Can you be praised by dust? Can it tell of your faithfulness?

10 Ouve, Senhor, e tem piedade de mim, Senhor; sê o meu auxílio.

Hear, Lord, and show me your favour, Lord be a helper to me.’

11 Tornaste o meu pranto em folguedo: desataste o meu saco, e me cingiste de alegria:

You have turned my mourning to dancing; my sackcloth you have unloosed, and clothed me with joy:

12 Para que a minha glória a ti cante louvores, e não se cale: Senhor, Deus meu, eu te louvarei para sempre.

that unceasingly I should sing your praise, and give thanks to you, Lord my God, forever.
