Salmos 105
1 Louvai ao Senhor, e invocai o seu nome; fazei conhecidas as suas obras entre os povos.
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name: make known his deeds among the nations.
2 Cantai-lhe, cantai-lhe salmos: falai de todas as suas maravilhas.
Sing to him, make music to him, tell of all his wondrous works.
3 Glóriai-vos no seu santo nome: alegre-se o coração daqueles que buscam ao Senhor.
Make your boast in his holy name, be glad at heart, you who seek the Lord.
4 Buscai ao Senhor e a sua força: buscai a sua face continuamente.
Seek after the Lord and his strength, seek his face evermore.
5 Lembrai-vos das maravilhas que fez, dos seus prodígios e dos juízos da sua boca;
Remember the wonders he did, his portents, the judgments he uttered,
6 Vós, semente de Abraão, seu servo, vós, filhos de Jacob, seus escolhidos.
you who are offspring of Abraham, his servant, the children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
7 Ele é o Senhor, nosso Deus; os seus juízos estão em toda a terra.
He is the Lord our God: in all the earth are his judgments.
8 Lembrou-se do seu concerto para sempre, da palavra que mandou a milhares de gerações.
He remembers forever his covenant, his promise for a thousand generations
9 O qual concerto fez com Abraão, e o seu juramento a Isaac.
The covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac,
10 E confirmou o mesmo a Jacob por estatuto, e a Israel por concerto eterno,
and confirmed as a statute to Jacob, a pact everlasting to Israel
11 Dizendo: A ti darei a terra de Canaan, a sorte da vossa herança.
to give them the land of Canaan as the lot which they should inherit.
12 Quando eram poucos homens em número, sim, mui poucos e estrangeiros nela.
And when they were very few, few and but pilgrims therein,
13 Quando andavam de nação em nação e dum reino para outro povo.
wandering from nation to nation, journeying from people to people,
14 Não permitiu a ninguém que os oprimisse, e por amor deles repreendeu a reis, dizendo:
he allowed no one to oppress them, even punishing kings for their sakes.
15 Não toqueis os meus ungidos, e não maltrateis os meus profetas.
He forbade them to touch his anointed, or do any hurt to his prophets.
16 Chamou a fome sobre a terra, quebrantou todo o sustento do pão.
When he called down famine on the land, and cut off the bread which sustained them,
17 Mandou perante eles um varão, José, que foi vendido por escravo:
he sent before them a man, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.
18 Cujos pés apertaram com grilhões: foi metido em ferros:
His feet were galled with fetters, he was laid in chains of iron,
19 Até ao tempo em que chegou a sua palavra; a palavra do Senhor o provou.
till the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord that had tried him.
20 Mandou o rei, e o fez soltar; o governador dos povos, e o soltou.
The king sent and freed him, the ruler of nations released him.
21 Fê-lo senhor da sua casa, e governador de toda a sua fazenda;
He made him lord of his household, and ruler of all his possessions,
22 Para sujeitar os seus príncipes a seu gosto, e instruir os seus anciãos.
to admonish his princes at will and instruct his elders in wisdom.
23 Então Israel entrou no Egito, e Jacob peregrinou na terra de Cão.
Thus Israel came into Egypt, Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 E aumentou o seu povo em grande maneira, e o fez mais poderoso do que os seus inimigos.
His people he made very fruitful, and mightier than their foes.
25 Virou o coração deles para que aborrecessem o seu povo, para que tratassem astutamente aos seus servos.
He inspired them to hate his people, and to deal with his servants craftily.
26 Enviou Moisés, seu servo, e Aarão, a quem escolhera.
He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron whom he had chosen,
27 Mostraram entre eles os seus sinais e prodígios, na terra de Cão.
portents he wrought in Egypt, and signs in the land of Ham.
28 Mandou trevas, e a fez escurecer; e não foram rebeldes à sua palavra.
Darkness he sent, and it fell: yet they gave no heed to his word.
29 Converteu as suas águas em sangue, e matou os seus peixes.
He turned their waters into blood, thus causing their fish to die.
30 A sua terra produziu rãs em abundância, até nas câmaras dos seus reis.
Their land was alive with frogs, swarming even in the royal chambers.
31 Falou ele, e vieram enxames de moscas e piolhos em todo o seu termo.
At his command came flies, and lice in all their borders.
32 Converteu as suas chuvas em saraiva, e fogo abrazador na sua terra.
He gave them hail for rain and fire that flashed through the land,
33 Feriu as suas vinhas e os seus figueirais, e quebrou as árvores dos seus termos.
smiting their vines and figs, breaking the trees of their border.
34 Falou ele, e vieram gafanhotos e pulgão sem número.
At his command came locusts, young locusts beyond all counting,
35 E comeram toda a erva da sua terra, e devoraram o fruto dos seus campos.
which ate every herb in the land, ate up, too, the fruit of their ground.
36 Feriu também a todos os primogênitos da sua terra, as primícias de todas as suas forças.
He struck down in their land all the firstborn, the firstlings of all their strength
37 E tirou-os para fora com prata e ouro, e entre as suas tribos não houve um só fraco.
Then forth he led Israel with silver and gold, and among his tribes no one was weary.
38 O Egito se alegrou quando eles sairam, porque o seu temor caira sobre eles.
Egypt was glad when they left, for terror had fallen upon them.
39 Estendeu uma nuvem por coberta, e um fogo para alumiar de noite.
He spread out a cloud to screen them, and fire to give light in the night.
40 Oraram, e ele fez vir codornizes, e os fartou de pão do céu.
He sent quails at their entreaty, and heavenly bread in abundance.
41 Abriu a penha, e dela correram águas; correram pelos lugares secos como um rio.
He opened the rock; waters gushed: in the desert they ran like a river.
42 Porque se lembrou da sua santa palavra, e de Abraão, seu servo.
For he remembered his holy promise to Abraham his servant.
43 E tirou dali o seu povo com alegria, e os seus escolhidos com regozijo.
So he led out his people with joy, his elect with a ringing cry.
44 E deu-lhes as terras das nações; e herdaram o trabalho dos povos;
And he gave them the lands of the nations, the fruit of their toil for possession,
45 Para que guardassem os seus preceitos, e observassem as suas leis. louvai ao Senhor.
that so they might keep his statutes, and be of his laws observant. Hallelujah.
