Josué 22

1 Então Josué chamou os rubenitas, e os gaditas, e a meia tribo de Manasseh,

Then Joshua calleth for the Reubenite, and for the Gadite, and for the half of the tribe of Manasseh,

2 E disse-lhes: Tudo quanto Moisés, o servo do Senhor, vos ordenou, guardastes: e à minha voz obedecestes em tudo quanto vos ordenei.

and saith unto them, 'Ye — ye have kept the whole of that which Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded you, and ye hearken to my voice, to all that I have commanded you;

3 A vossos irmãos por tanto tempo até ao dia de hoje não desamparastes: antes tivestes cuidado da guarda do mandamento do Senhor vosso Deus.

ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, and have kept the charge — the command of Jehovah your God.

4 E agora o Senhor vosso Deus deu repouso a vossos irmãos, como lhes tinha prometido: voltai-vos pois agora, e ide-vos a vossas tendas, à terra da vossa possessão, que Moisés, o servo do Senhor, vos deu de além do Jordão.

'And, now, Jehovah your God hath given rest to your brethren, as He spake to them; and now, turn ye, and go for yourselves to your tents, unto the land of your possession, which Moses, servant of Jehovah, hath given to you beyond the Jordan.

5 Tão somente tende cuidado de guardar com diligência o mandamento e a lei que Moisés, o servo do Senhor, vos mandou: que ameis ao Senhor vosso Deus, e andeis em todos os seus caminhos, e guardeis os seus mandamentos, e vos achegueis a ele, e o sirvais com todo o vosso coração, e com toda a vossa alma

Only, be very watchful to do the command and the law which Moses, servant of Jehovah, commanded you, to love Jehovah your God, and to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commands, and to cleave to Him, and to serve Him, with all your heart, and with all your soul.'

6 Assim Josué os abençoou; e despediu-os, e foram-se às suas tendas.

And Joshua blesseth them, and sendeth them away, and they go unto their tents.

7 Porquanto Moisés dera herança em Basan a meia tribo de Manasseh; porém à outra metade deu Josué entre seus irmãos, de aquém do Jordão para o ocidente; e enviando-os Josué também à suas tendas, os abençoou;

And to the half of the tribe of Manasseh hath Moses given, in Bashan, and to its [other] half hath Joshua given with their brethren beyond the Jordan westward; and also when Joshua hath sent them away unto their tents, then he doth bless them,

8 E falou-lhes, dizendo: voltai-vos às vossas tendas com grandes riquezas, e com muitíssimo gado, com prata, e com ouro, e com metal, e com ferro, e com muitíssimos vestidos: e com vossos irmãos reparti o despojo dos vossos inimigos.

and speak unto them, saying, 'With great riches turn ye back unto your tents, and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with brass, and with iron, and with very much raiment; divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.'

9 Assim os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh voltaram, e partiram dos filhos de Israel, de Silo, que está na terra de Canaan; para se irem à terra de Gilead, à terra da sua possessão, de que foram feitos possuidores, conforme ao dito do Senhor pelo ministério de Moisés.

And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, turn back and go from the sons of Israel out of Shiloh, which [is] in the land of Canaan, to go unto the land of Gilead, unto the land of their possession, in which they have possession, according to the command of Jehovah, by the hand of Moses;

10 E, vindo eles aos limites do Jordão, que estão na terra de Canaan, ali os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh edificaram um altar junto ao Jordão, um altar de grande aparência.

and they come in unto the districts of the Jordan, which [are] in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, build there an altar by the Jordan — a great altar for appearance.

11 E ouviram os filhos de Israel dizer: Eis que os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh edificaram um altar na frente da terra de Canaan, nos limites do Jordão, da banda dos filhos de Israel.

And the sons of Israel hear, saying, 'Lo, the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, have built the altar over-against the land of Canaan, on the districts of the Jordan, at the passage of the sons of Israel.'

12 O que os filhos de Israel ouvindo, ajuntou-se toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel em Silo, para sairem contra eles em exército.

And the sons of Israel hear, and all the company of the sons of Israel is assembled at Shiloh, to go up against them to war;

13 E enviaram os filhos de Israel aos filhos de Ruben, e aos filhos de Gad, e à meia tribo de Manasseh, para a terra de Gilead, a Phineas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote;

and the sons of Israel send unto the sons of Reuben, and unto the sons of Gad, and unto the half of the tribe of Manasseh — unto the land of Gilead — Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest,

14 E a dez príncipes com ele, de cada casa paterna um príncipe, de todas as tribos de Israel: e cada um era Cabeça da casa de seus pais nos milhares de Israel.

and ten princes with him, one prince, one prince, for a house of a father, for all the tribes of Israel, and each of them a head of a house of their fathers, for the thousands of Israel.

15 E, vindo eles, aos filhos de Ruben, e aos filhos de Gad, e à meia tribo de Manasseh, à terra de Gilead, falaram com eles, dizendo:

And they come in unto the sons of Reuben, and unto the sons of Gad, and unto the half of the tribe of Manasseh, unto the land of Gilead, and speak with them, saying,

16 Assim diz toda a congregação do Senhor: Que transgressão é esta, com que transgredistes contra o Deus de Israel, tornando-vos hoje de após do Senhor, edificando-vos um altar, para vos rebelardes contra o Senhor?

'Thus said all the company of Jehovah, What [is] this trespass which ye have trespassed against the God of Israel, to turn back to-day from after Jehovah, by your building for you an altar, for your rebelling to-day against Jehovah?

17 Foi-nos pouco a iniquidade de Peor? de que ainda até ao dia de hoje não estamos purificados, ainda que houve castigo na congregação do Senhor?

Is the iniquity of Peor little to us, from which we have not been cleansed till this day — and the plague is in the company of Jehovah,

18 E hoje vos tornais de após do Senhor: será que, rebelando-vos hoje contra o Senhor, amanhã se irará contra toda a congregação de Israel

that ye turn back to-day from after Jehovah? and it hath been — ye rebel to-day against Jehovah — and to-morrow against all the company of Israel He is wroth.

19 Se é, porém, que a terra da vossa possessão é imunda, passai-vos para a terra da possessão do Senhor, onde habita o tabernáculo do Senhor, e tomai possessão entre nós: mas não vos rebeleis contra o Senhor, nem tão pouco vos rebeleis contra nós, edificando-vos um altar, a fora do altar do Senhor nosso Deus

'And surely, if the land of your possession is unclean, pass over for you unto the land of the possession of Jehovah, where the tabernacle of Jehovah hath tabernacled, and have possession in our midst; and against Jehovah rebel not, and against us rebel not, by your building for you an altar, besides the altar of Jehovah our God.

20 Não cometeu Acan, filho de Zera, transgressão no tocante ao anátema? e não veio ira sobre toda a congregação de Israel? assim que aquele homem não morreu só na sua iniquidade.

Did not Achan son of Zerah commit a trespass in the devoted thing, and on all the company of Israel there was wrath? and he alone expired not in his iniquity.'

21 Então responderam os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh, e disseram aos Cabeças dos milhares de Israel:

And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, answer and speak with the heads of the thousands of Israel:

22 O Deus dos deuses, o Senhor, ele o sabe, e Israel mesmo o saberá; se é por rebeldia, ou por transgressão contra o Senhor, hoje não nos preserve;

'The God of gods — Jehovah, the God of gods — Jehovah, He is knowing, and Israel, he doth know, if in rebellion, and if in trespass against Jehovah (Thou dost not save us this day!)

23 Se nós edificamos altar para nos tornar de após do Senhor, ou para sobre ele oferecer holocausto e oferta de manjares, ou sobre ele fazer oferta pacífica, o Senhor mesmo de nós o requeira.

[we are] building for ourselves an altar to turn back from after Jehovah, and if to cause to go up on it burnt-offering and present, and if to make on it peace-offerings — Jehovah Himself doth require [it].

24 E, se o não fizemos por receio disto, dizendo: Amanhã vossos filhos virão a falar a nossos filhos, dizendo: Que tendes vós com o Senhor Deus de Israel?

'And if not, from fear of [this] thing we have done it, saying, Hereafter your sons do speak to ours sons, saying, What to you and to Jehovah God of Israel?

25 Pois o Senhor pôs o Jordão por termo entre nós e vós, ó filhos de Ruben, e filhos de Gad; não tendes parte no Senhor: e assim bem poderiam vossos filhos fazer desistir a nossos filhos de temer ao Senhor.

for a border hath Jehovah put between us and you, O sons of Reuben, and sons of Gad — Jordan; ye have no portion in Jehovah — and your sons have caused our sons to cease, not to fear Jehovah.

26 Pelo que dissemos: Façamos agora, e nos edifiquemos um altar: não para holocausto, nem para sacrifício,

'And we say, Pray let us prepare for ourselves to build the altar — not for burnt-offering nor for sacrifice —

27 Mas para que entre nós e vós, e entre as nossas gerações depois de nós, nos seja em testemunho, para podermos exercitar o serviço do Senhor diante dele com os nossos holocaustos, e com os nossos sacrifícios, e com as nossas ofertas pacíficas: e para que vossos filhos não digam amanhã a nossos filhos: Não tendes parte no Senhor

but a witness it [is] between us and you, and between our generations after us, to do the service of Jehovah before Him with our burnt-offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace-offerings, and your sons do not say hereafter to our sons, Ye have no portion in Jehovah.

28 Pelo que dissemos: Quando for que amanhã assim nos digam a nós e às nossas gerações, então diremos: vede o modelo do altar do Senhor que fizeram nossos pais, não para holocausto nem para sacrifício, porém para ser testemunho entre nós e vós.

'And we say, And it hath been, when they say [so] unto us, and unto our generations hereafter, that we have said, See the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made — not for burnt-offering nor for sacrifice — but a witness it [is] between us and you.

29 Nunca tal nos aconteça, que nos rebelassemos contra o Senhor, ou que hoje nos tornássemos de após do Senhor, edificando altar para holocausto, oferta de manjares ou sacrifício, fora do altar do Senhor nosso Deus, que está perante o seu tabernáculo.

'Far be it from us to rebel against Jehovah, and to turn back to-day from after Jehovah, to build an altar for burnt-offering, for present, and for sacrifice, apart from the altar of Jehovah our God, which [is] before His tabernacle.'

30 Ouvindo pois Phineas, o sacerdote, e os príncipes da congregação, e os Cabeças dos milhares de Israel, que com ele estavam, as palavras que disseram os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e os filhos de Manasseh, pareceu bem aos seus olhos.

And Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the company, and the heads of the thousands of Israel, who [are] with him, hear the words which the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the sons of Manasseh have spoken, and it is good in their eyes.

31 E disse Phineas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote, aos filhos de Ruben, e aos filhos de Gad, e aos filhos de Manasseh: Hoje sabemos que o Senhor está no meio de nós; porquanto não cometestes transgressão contra o Senhor: agora livrastes os filhos de Israel da mão do Senhor.

And Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest saith unto the sons of Reuben, and unto the sons of Gad, and unto the sons of Manasseh, 'To-day we have known that Jehovah [is] in our midst, because ye have not committed against Jehovah this trespass — then ye have delivered the sons of Israel out of the hand of Jehovah.'

32 E tornou-se Phineas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote, com os príncipes, de com os filhos de Ruben, e de com os filhos de Gad, da terra de Gilead à terra de Canaan, aos filhos de Israel: e trouxeram-lhes a resposta.

And Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, turn back from the sons of Reuben, and from the sons of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, unto the land of Canaan, unto the sons of Israel, and bring them back word;

33 E pareceu a resposta boa aos olhos dos filhos de Israel, e os filhos de Israel louvaram a Deus: e não falaram mais de subir contra eles em exército, para destruírem a terra em que habitavam os filhos de Ruben e os filhos de Gad.

and the thing is good in the eyes of the sons of Israel, and the sons of Israel bless God, and have not said to go up against them to war, to destroy the land which the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, are dwelling in.

34 E os filhos de Ruben e os filhos de Gad puseram ao altar o nome Ed: para que seja testemunho entre nós que o Senhor é Deus.

And the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad proclaim concerning the altar, that 'it [is] a witness between us that Jehovah [is] God.'
