1 No ano duodécimo de Achaz, rei de Judá, começou a reinar Hoseas, filho de Ela, e reinou sobre Israel, em Samaria, nove anos.
In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
2 E fez o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor, contudo não como os reis de Israel que foram antes dele.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.
3 Contra ele subiu Salmanasar, rei da Assyria: e Hoseas ficou sendo servo dele, e pagava-lhe presentes.
Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
4 Porém o rei da Assyria achou em Hoseas conspiração; porque enviara mensageiros a So, rei do Egito, e não pagava presentes ao rei da Assyria cada ano, como de antes: então o rei d'Assyria o encerrou e aprisionou na casa do cárcere.
And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
5 Porque o rei da Assyria subiu por toda a terra, e veio até Samaria, e a cercou três anos.
Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
6 No ano nono de Hoseas, o rei da Assyria tomou a Samaria, e transportou a Israel para a Assyria: e fê-los habitar em Halah, e em Habor, junto ao rio de Gozan, e nas cidades dos medos.
In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7 Porque sucedeu, que os filhos de Israel pecaram contra o Senhor seu Deus, que os fizera subir da terra do Egito, de debaixo da mão de faraó, rei do Egito; e temeram a outros deuses,
For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
8 E andaram nos estatutos das nações que o Senhor lançara fora de diante dos filhos de Israel, e nos dos reis de Israel, que eles fizeram.
And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
9 E os filhos de Israel fizeram secretamente coisas que não eram retas, contra o Senhor seu Deus; e edificaram altos em todas as suas cidades, desde a torre das atalaias até à cidade forte.
And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against the LORD their God, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
10 E levantaram estátuas e imagens do bosque, em todos os altos outeiros, e debaixo de todas as árvores verdes.
And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
11 E queimaram ali incenso em todos os altos, como as nações, que o Senhor transportara de diante deles: e fizeram coisas ruins, para provocarem à ira o Senhor.
And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom the LORD carried away before them; and worked wicked things to provoke the LORD to anger:
12 E serviram os ídolos, dos quais o Senhor lhes dissera: Não fareis estas coisas.
For they served idols, whereof the LORD had said to them, You shall not do this thing.
13 E o Senhor protestou a Israel e a Judá, pelo ministério de todos os profetas e de todos os videntes, dizendo: Converte-os de vossos maus caminhos, e guardai os meus mandamentos e os meus estatutos, conforme toda a lei que ordenei a vossos pais e que eu vos enviei pelo ministério de meus servos, os profetas.
Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn you from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
14 Porém não deram ouvidos; antes endureceram a sua cerviz, como a cerviz de seus pais, que não creram no Senhor seu Deus.
Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God.
15 E rejeitaram os seus estatutos, e o seu concerto, que fizera com seus pais, como também os seus testemunhos, com que protestara contra ele: e andaram após a vaidade, e ficaram vãos; como também após as nações, que estavam em roda deles, das quais o Senhor lhes tinha ordenado que não fizessem como elas
And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them, that they should not do like them.
16 E deixaram todos os mandamentos do Senhor seu Deus, e fizeram imagens de fundição, dois bezerros: e fizeram um ídolo do bosque, e se prostraram perante todo o exército do céu, e serviram a Baal.
And they left all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
17 Também fizeram passar pelo fogo a seus filhos e suas filhas, e deram-se a adivinhações, e criam em agouros; e venderam-se para fazer o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor, para o provocarem à ira.
And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
18 Pelo que o Senhor muito se indignou sobre Israel, e os tirou de diante da sua face: nada mais ficou, senão só a tribo de Judá.
Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
19 Até Judá não guardou os mandamentos do Senhor seu Deus; antes andaram nos estatutos de Israel, que eles fizeram.
Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
20 Pelo que o Senhor rejeitou a toda a semente de Israel, e os oprimiu, e os deu nas mãos dos despojadores, até que os tirou de diante da sua presença.
And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
21 Porque rasgou a Israel da casa de David, e fizeram rei a Jeroboão, filho de Nebat: e Jeroboão apartou a Israel de após o Senhor, e os fez pecar um grande pecado.
For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drove Israel from following the LORD, and made them sin a great sin.
22 Assim andaram os filhos de Israel em todos os pecados de Jeroboão, que tinha feito: nunca se apartaram deles.
For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
23 Até que o Senhor tirou a Israel de diante da sua presença, como falara pelo ministério de todos os seus servos, os profetas: assim foi Israel transportado da sua terra a Assyria até ao dia de hoje.
Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria to this day.
24 E o rei da Assyria trouxe gente de Babel, e de Cutha, e de Ava, e de Hamath e Sefarvaim, e a fez habitar nas cidades de Samaria, em lugar dos filhos de Israel: e tomaram a Samaria em herança, e habitaram nas suas cidades.
And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelled in the cities thereof.
25 E sucedeu que, no princípio da sua habitação ali, não temeram ao Senhor: e mandou entre eles o Senhor leões, que mataram a alguns deles.
And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.
26 Pelo que falaram ao rei da Assyria, dizendo: A gente que transportaste, e fizeste habitar nas cidades de Samaria, não sabe o costume do Deus da terra: pelo que mandou leões entre elas, e eis que os matam, porquanto não sabem o culto do Deus da terra.
Why they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which you have removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the God of the land: therefore he has sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the God of the land.
27 Então o rei d'Assyria mandou dizer: levai ali um dos sacerdotes que transportastes de lá; e vão-se, e habitem lá: e ele lhes ensine o costume do Deus da terra.
Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the God of the land.
28 Veio pois um dos sacerdotes que transportaram de Samaria, e habitou em Bethel, e lhes ensinou como deviam temer ao Senhor.
Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelled in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the LORD.
29 Porém cada nação fez os seus deuses, e os puseram nas casas dos altos que os samaritanos fizeram, cada nação nas suas cidades, nas quais habitavam.
However, every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelled.
30 E os de Babel fizeram Succoth-benoth; e os de Cutha fizeram Nergal; e os de Hamath fizeram Asima.
And the men of Babylon made Succothbenoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
31 E os aveus fizeram Nibha e Tartak: e os sepharvitas queimavam seus filhos a fogo, a Adram-melech, e a Anam-melech, deuses de Sepharvaim.
And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
32 Também temiam ao Senhor: e dos mais baixos se fizeram sacerdotes dos lugares altos, os quais lhes faziam o ministério nas casas dos lugares altos.
So they feared the LORD, and made to themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
33 Assim que ao Senhor temiam, e também a seus deuses serviam, segundo o costume das nações dentre as quais transportaram aquelas.
They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from there.
34 Até ao dia de hoje fazem segundo os primeiros costumes: não temem ao Senhor, nem fazem segundo os seus estatutos, e segundo as suas ordenanças, e segundo a lei, e segundo o mandamento que o Senhor ordenou aos filhos de Jacob, a quem deu o nome de Israel.
To this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
35 Contudo o Senhor tinha feito um concerto com eles, e lhes ordenara, dizendo: Não temereis a outros deuses, nem vos inclinareis diante deles, nem os servireis, nem lhes sacrificareis.
With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:
36 Mas o Senhor, que vos fez subir da terra do Egito com grande força e com braço estendido, a este temereis, e a ele vos inclinareis, e a ele sacrificareis.
But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall you fear, and him shall you worship, and to him shall you do sacrifice.
37 E os estatutos, e as ordenanças, e a lei, e o mandamento, que vos escreveu, tereis cuidado de fazer todos os dias: e não temereis a outros deuses.
And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do for ever more; and you shall not fear other gods.
38 E do concerto que fiz convosco vos não esquecereis: e não temereis a outros deuses.
And the covenant that I have made with you you shall not forget; neither shall you fear other gods.
39 Mas ao Senhor vosso Deus temereis, e ele vos livrará das mãos de todos os vossos inimigos.
But the LORD your God you shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
40 Porém eles não ouviram; antes fizeram segundo o seu primeiro costume.
However, they did not listen, but they did after their former manner.
41 Assim estas nações temiam ao Senhor e serviam as suas imagens de escultura: também seus filhos, e os filhos de seus filhos, como fizeram seus pais, assim fazem eles até ao dia de hoje.
So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children’s children: as did their fathers, so do they to this day.
