Provérbios 29
1 O homem que muitas vezes reprehendido endurece a cerviz de repente será quebrantado sem que haja cura.
A man that hardeneth his necke when he is rebuked, shall suddenly be destroyed and can not be cured.
2 Quando os justos se engrandecem, o povo se alegra, mas quando o impio domina o povo suspira.
When the righteous are in authoritie, the people reioyce: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people sigh.
3 O homem que ama a sabedoria alegra a seu pae, mas o companheiro de prostitutas desperdiça a fazenda.
A man that loueth wisdome, reioyceth his father: but he that feedeth harlots, wasteth his substance.
4 O rei com juizo sustem a terra, mas o amigo de peitas a transtorna.
A King by iudgement mainteineth ye countrey: but a man receiuing giftes, destroyeth it.
5 O homem que lisongeia a seu proximo, arma uma rede aos seus passos.
A man that flattereth his neighbour, spreadeth a net for his steps.
6 Na transgressão do homem mau ha laço, mas o justo jubila e se alegra.
In the transgression of an euill man is his snare: but the righteous doeth sing and reioyce.
7 Informa-se o justo da causa dos pobres, mas o impio não comprehende o conhecimento.
The righteous knoweth the cause of the poore: but the wicked regardeth not knowledge.
8 Os homens escarnecedores abrazam a cidade, mas os sabios desviam a ira.
Scornefull men bring a citie into a snare: but wise men turne away wrath.
9 O homem sabio que pleiteia com o tolo, quer se turbe quer se ria, não terá descanço.
If a wise man contend with a foolish man, whether he be angry or laugh, there is no rest.
10 Os homens sanguinolentos aborrecem ao sincero, mas os rectos procuram o seu bem.
Bloodie men hate him that is vpright: but the iust haue care of his soule.
11 Todo o seu espirito profere o tolo, mas o sabio o encobre e reprime.
A foole powreth out all his minde: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterward.
12 O governador que dá attenção ás palavras mentirosas, achará que todos os seus servos são impios.
Of a prince that hearkeneth to lyes, all his seruants are wicked.
13 O pobre e o usurario se encontram, e o Senhor allumia os olhos d'ambos.
The poore and the vsurer meete together, and the Lord lighteneth both their eyes.
14 O rei, que julga os pobres conforme a verdade, firmará o seu throno para sempre.
A King that iudgeth the poore in trueth, his throne shalbe established for euer.
15 A vara e a reprehensão dão sabedoria, mas o rapaz entregue a si mesmo envergonha a sua mãe.
The rodde and correction giue wisdome: but a childe set a libertie, maketh his mother ashamed.
16 Quando os impios se multiplicam, multiplicam-se as transgressões, mas os justos verão a sua quéda.
When the wicked are increased, transgression increaseth: but ye righteous shall see their fall.
17 Castiga a teu filho, e te fará descançar; e dará delicias á tua alma.
Correct thy sonne and he will giue thee rest, and will giue pleasures to thy soule.
18 Não havendo prophecia, o povo fica dissoluto; porém o que guarda a lei esse é bemaventurado:
Where there is no vision, the people decay: but he that keepeth the Lawe, is blessed.
19 O servo se não emendará com palavras, porque, ainda que te entenda, todavia não responderá.
A seruant will not be chastised with words: though he vnderstand, yet he will not answere.
20 Tens visto um homem arremessado nas suas palavras? maior esperança ha d'um tolo do que d'elle.
Seest thou a man hastie in his matters? there is more hope of a foole, then of him.
21 Quando alguem cria delicadamente o seu servo desde a mocidade, por derradeiro quererá ser seu filho.
He that delicately bringeth vp his seruant from youth, at length he will be euen as his sone.
22 O homem iracundo levanta contendas; e o furioso multiplica as transgressões.
An angrie man stirreth vp strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression.
23 A soberba do homem o abaterá, mas o humilde d'espirito reterá a gloria.
The pride of a man shall bring him lowe: but the humble in spirit shall enioy glory.
24 O que tem parte com o ladrão aborrece a sua propria alma: ouve maldições, e não o denuncia.
He that is partner with a thiefe, hateth his owne soule: he heareth cursing, and declareth it not.
25 O temor do homem armará laços, mas o que confia no Senhor será posto em alto retiro.
The feare of man bringeth a snare: but he that trusteth in the Lord, shalbe exalted.
26 Muitos buscam a face do principe, mas o juizo de cada um vem do Senhor.
Many doe seeke the face of the ruler: but euery mans iudgement commeth from the Lord.
27 Abominação é para os justos o homem iniquo, mas abominação é para o impio o de rectos caminhos.
A wicked man is abomination to the iust, and he that is vpright in his way, is abomination to the wicked.
