Will he make many petitions to you, or will he speak soft words to you?
4 Fará elle concertos comtigo? ou o tomarás tu por escravo para sempre?
Will he make a covenant with you, that you should take him for a servant forever?
5 Brincarás com elle, como com um passarinho? ou o atarás para tuas meninas?
Will you play with him as with a bird? Or will you bind him for your girls?
6 Os teus companheiros farão d'elle um banquete? ou o repartirão entre os negociantes?
Will traders barter for him? Will they part him among the merchants?

Strong scales are his pride, shut up together with a close seal.
16 Uma á outra se chega tão perto, que nem um assopro passa por entre ellas.
One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.
17 Umas ás outras se apegam: tanto se travam entre si, que não se podem separar.
They are joined one to another. They stick together, so that they can't be pulled apart.
18 Cada um dos seus espirros faz resplandecer a luz, e os seus olhos são como as pestanas da alva.
His sneezing flashes out light. His eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
19 Da sua bocca saem tochas: faiscas de fogo arrebentam d'ella.
Out of his mouth go burning torches. Sparks of fire leap forth.
20 Dos seus narizes procede fumo, como d'uma panella fervente, ou d'uma grande caldeira.
Out of his nostrils a smoke goes, as of a boiling pot over a fire of reeds.
21 O seu halito faria incender os carvões: e da sua bocca sae chamma.
His breath kindles coals. A flame goes forth from his mouth.
22 No seu pescoço pousa a força: perante elle até a tristeza salta de prazer.
There is strength in his neck. Terror dances before him.
23 Os musculos da sua carne estão pegados entre si: cada um está firme n'elle, e nenhum se move.
The flakes of his flesh are joined together. They are firm on him. They can't be moved.
24 O seu coração é firme como uma pedra e firme como parte da mó de baixo.
His heart is as firm as a stone, yes, firm as the lower millstone.
25 Levantando-se elle, tremem os valentes: em razão dos seus abalos se purificam.
When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid. They retreat before his thrashing.
26 Se alguem lhe tocar com a espada, essa não poderá penetrar, nem lança, dardo ou couraça.

27 Elle reputa o ferro por palha, e o cobre por pau podre.

29 As pedras atiradas estima como arestas, e ri-se do brandir da lança.
Clubs are counted as stubble. He laughs at the rushing of the javelin.
30 Debaixo de si tem conchas ponteagudas: estende-se sobre coisas ponteagudas como na lama.
His undersides are like sharp potsherds, leaving a trail in the mud like a threshing sledge.
31 As profundezas faz ferver, como uma panella: torna o mar como quando os unguentos fervem.
He makes the deep to boil like a pot. He makes the sea like a pot of ointment.
32 Apoz elle allumia o caminho: parece o abysmo tornado em brancura de cãs.
He makes a path shine after him. One would think the deep had white hair.
33 Na terra não ha coisa que se lhe possa comparar, pois foi feito para estar sem pavor.
On earth there is not his equal, that is made without fear.
34 Todo o alto vê: é rei sobre todos os filhos d'animaes altivos.
He sees everything that is high. He is king over all the sons of pride."
