Jó 33
1 Assim, na verdade, ó Job, ouve as minhas razões, e dá ouvidos a todas as minhas palavras.
Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear my speech, and hearken to all my words.
2 Eis que já abri a minha bocca: já fallou a minha lingua debaixo do meu paladar.
Behold now, I have opened my mouth, my tongue hath spoken in my mouth.
3 As minhas razões sairão da sinceridade do meu coração, e a pura sciencia dos meus labios.
My words [shall utter] the uprightness of my heart: and that which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.
4 O Espirito de Deus me fez: e a inspiração do Todo-poderoso me deu vida.
The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty giveth me life.
5 Se podes responde-me, põe por ordem diante de mim a tua causa, e levanta-te.
If thou canst, answer thou me; set [thy words] in order before me, stand forth.
6 Eis que sou de Deus, como tu: do lodo tambem eu fui cortado.
Behold, I am toward God even as thou art: I also am formed out of the clay.
7 Eis que não te perturbará o meu terror, nem será pesada sobre ti a minha mão.
Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my pressure be heavy upon thee.
8 Na verdade que disseste aos meus ouvidos; e eu ouvi a voz das palavras, dizendo:
Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of [thy] words, [saying],
9 Limpo estou, sem transgressão: puro sou; e não tenho culpa.
I am clean, without transgression; I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me:
10 Eis que acha contra mim achaques, e me considerou como seu inimigo.
Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy;
11 Põe no tronco os meus pés, e observa todas as minhas veredas.
He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
12 Eis que n'isto te respondo: Não foste justo; porque maior é Deus do que o homem.
Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just; for God is greater than man.
13 Por que razão contendeste com elle? porque não responde ácerca de todos os seus feitos.
Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
14 Antes Deus falla uma e duas vezes; porém ninguem attenta para isso.
For God speaketh once, yea twice, [though man] regardeth it not.
15 Em sonho ou em visão de noite, quando cae somno profundo sobre os homens, e adormecem na cama,
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
16 Então o revela ao ouvido dos homens, e lhes sella a sua instrucção.
Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
17 Para apartar o homem d'aquillo que faz, e esconder do homem a soberba.
That he may withdraw man [from his] purpose, and hide pride from man;
18 Para desviar a sua alma da cova, e a sua vida de passar pela espada.
He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
19 Tambem na sua cama é com dôres castigado; como tambem a multidão de seus ossos com fortes dôres.
He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and with continual strife in his bones:
20 De modo que a sua vida abomina até o pão, e a sua alma a comida appetecivel.
So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
21 Desapparece a sua carne á vista d'olhos, e os seus ossos, que se não viam, agora apparecem:
His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
22 E a sua alma se vae chegando á cova, e a sua vida ao que traz morte.
Yea, his soul draweth near unto the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
23 Se com elle pois houver um mensageiro, um interprete, um entre milhares, para declarar ao homem a sua rectidão,
If there be with him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man what is right for him;
24 Então terá misericordia d'elle, e lhe dirá: Livra-o, que não desça á cova; já achei resgate.
Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.
25 Sua carne se reverdecerá mais do que era na mocidade, e tornará aos dias da sua juventude.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child’s; he returneth to the days of his youth:
26 Devéras orará a Deus, o qual se agradará d'elle, e verá a sua face com jubilo, e restituirá ao homem a sua justiça.
He prayeth unto God, and he is favourable unto him; so that he seeth his face with joy: and he restoreth unto man his righteousness.
27 Olhará para os homens, e dirá: Pequei, e perverti o direito, o que de nada me aproveitou.
He singeth before men, and saith, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not:
28 Porém Deus livrou a minha alma de que não passasse a cova; assim que a minha vida vê a luz.
He hath redeemed my soul from going into the pit, and my life shall behold the light.
29 Eis que tudo isto obra Deus, duas e tres vezes para com o homem;
Lo, all these things doth God work, twice, [yea] thrice, with a man,
30 Para desviar a sua alma da perdição, e o alumiar com a luz dos viventes.
To bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
31 Escuta pois, ó Job, ouve-me: cala-te, e eu fallarei.
Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
32 Se tens alguma coisa que dizer, responde-me: falla, porque desejo justificar-te.
If thou hast any thing to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
33 Se não, escuta-me tu: cala-te, e ensinar-te-hei a sabedoria.
If not, hearken thou unto me: hold thy peace, and I will teach thee wisdom.
