Jó 17
1 O meu espirito se vae corrompendo, os meus dias se vão apagando, e tenho perante mim as sepulturas.
"My spirit is consumed. My days are extinct, And the grave is ready for me.
2 Porventura não estão zombadores comigo? e os meus olhos não passam a noite chorando pelas suas amarguras?
Surely there are mockers with me. My eye dwells on their provocation.
3 Promette agora, e dá-me um fiador para comtigo: quem ha que me dê a mão?
"Now give a pledge, be collateral for me with yourself. Who is there who will strike hands with me?
4 Porque aos seus corações encobriste o entendimento, pelo que não os exaltarás.
For you have hidden their heart from understanding, Therefore you shall not exalt them.
5 O que lisongeando falla aos amigos tambem os olhos de seus filhos desfallecerão.
He who denounces his friends for a prey, Even the eyes of his children shall fail.
6 Porém a mim me poz por um proverbio dos povos, de modo que já sou uma abominação perante o rosto de cada um.
"But he has made me a byword of the people. They spit in my face.
7 Pelo que já se escureceram de magoa os meus olhos, e já todos os meus membros são como a sombra:
My eye also is dim by reason of sorrow. All my members are as a shadow.
8 Os rectos pasmarão d'isto, e o innocente se levantará contra o hypocrita.
Upright men shall be astonished at this. The innocent shall stir up himself against the godless.
9 E o justo seguirá o seu caminho firmemente, e o puro de mãos irá crescendo em força.
Yet shall the righteous hold on his way. He who has clean hands shall grow stronger and stronger.
10 Mas, na verdade, tornae todos vós, e vinde cá; porque sabio nenhum acho entre vós.
But as for you all, come on now again; I shall not find a wise man among you.
11 Os meus dias passam, os meus propositos se quebraram, os pensamentos do meu coração.
My days are past, my plans are broken off, as are the thoughts of my heart.
12 Trocaram o dia em noite; a luz está perto do fim, por causa das trevas.
They change the night into day, saying 'The light is near' in the presence of darkness.
If I look for Sheol as my house, if I have spread my couch in the darkness, (Sheol h7585)
14 Á corrupção clamo: Tu és meu pae; e aos bichos: Vós sois minha mãe e minha irmã.
If I have said to corruption, 'You are my father;' to the worm, 'My mother,' and 'my sister;'
15 Onde pois estaria agora a minha esperança? emquanto á minha esperança, quem a poderá ver
where then is my hope? As for my hope, who shall see it?
