Isaías 7

1 Succedeu pois nos dias de Achaz, filho de Jothão, filho d'Uzias, rei de Judah, que Resin, rei da Syria, e Peka, filho de Remalias, rei d'Israel, subiram a Jerusalem, para pelejar contra ella, porém, pelejando, nada poderam contra ella.

And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up to Jerusalem to war against it; but could not prevail against it.

2 E deram aviso á casa de David, dizendo: A Syria repousa sobre Ephraim. Então se commoveu o seu coração, e o coração do seu povo, como se commovem as arvores do bosque com o vento

And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind.

3 Então disse o Senhor a Isaias: Agora tu e teu filho Sear-jasub sahi ao encontro de Achaz, ao fim do canal do viveiro superior, ao caminho do campo do lavandeiro.

Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool, in the highway of the fuller’s field;

4 E dize-lhe: Guarda-te, e está descançado, não temas, nem se desanime o teu coração por causa d'estes dois rabos de tições fumegantes, por causa do ardor da ira de Resin, e da Syria, e do filho de Remalias.

and say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither let thine heart be faint, because of these two tails of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

5 Porquanto a Syria teve contra ti maligno conselho, com Ephraim, e com o filho de Remalias, dizendo:

Because Syria hath counselled evil against thee, Ephraim [also], and the son of Remaliah, saying,

6 Vamos subir contra Judah, e despertemol-o, e repartamol-o entre nós, e façamos reinar no meio d'elle como rei o filho de Tabeal.

Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set up a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeel:

7 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Isto não subsistirá, nem tão pouco acontecerá.

thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

8 Porém o cabeça da Syria será Damasco, e o cabeça de Damasco Resin: e dentro de sessenta e cinco annos Ephraim será quebrantado, e deixará de ser povo.

For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken in pieces, that it be not a people:

9 Entretanto o cabeça de Ephraim será Samaria, e o cabeça de Samaria o filho de Remalias: se o não crerdes, devéras não ficareis firmes.

and the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.

10 E continuou o Senhor a fallar com Achaz, dizendo:

And the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,

11 Pede para ti ao Senhor teu Deus um signal; pede-o ou em baixo nas profundezas ou em cima nas alturas. (Sheol h7585)

Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above. (Sheol h7585)

12 Porém disse Achaz: Não o pedirei, nem tentarei ao Senhor.

But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD.

13 Então disse: Ouvi agora, ó casa de David: Pouco vos é afadigardes os homens, senão que ainda afadigareis tambem ao meu Deus?

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; is it a small thing for you to weary men, that ye will weary my God also?

14 Portanto o mesmo Senhor vos dará um signal: Eis que a virgem conceberá, e parirá um filho, e chamará o seu nome Emmanuel.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

15 Manteiga e mel comerá, até que elle saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.

Butter and honey shall he eat, when he knoweth to refuse the evil, and choose the good.

16 Na verdade, antes que este menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra de que te enfadas será desamparada dos seus dois reis.

For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land whose two kings thou abhorrest shall be forsaken.

17 Porém o Senhor fará vir sobre ti, e sobre o teu povo, e sobre a casa de teu pae, dias taes, quaes nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Ephraim se desviou de Judah, pelo rei d'Assyria.

The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; [even] the king of Assyria.

18 Porque ha de acontecer que n'aquelle dia assobiará o Senhor ás moscas, que ha no extremo dos rios do Egypto, e ás abelhas que andam na terra da Assyria;

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

19 E virão, e pousarão todas nos valles desertos e nas fendas das penhas, e em todos os espinhos e em todas as florestas.

And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all pastures.

20 N'aquelle dia rapará o Senhor com uma navalha alugada, que está d'além do rio, com o rei da Assyria, a cabeça e os cabellos dos pés: e até a barba totalmente tirará.

In that day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, [which is] in the parts beyond the River, [even] with the king of Assyria, the head and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard.

21 E succederá n'aquelle dia que alguem creará uma vacca e duas ovelhas:

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;

22 E acontecerá que por causa da abundancia do leite que lhe derem comerá manteiga; e manteiga e mel comerá todo aquelle que ficar de resto no meio da terra.

and it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the midst of the land.

23 Succederá tambem n'aquelle dia que todo o logar, em que houver mil vides, do valor de mil moedas de prata, será para as sarças e para os espinheiros.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, shall even be for briers and thorns.

24 Com arco e frechas se entrará n'elle, porque toda a terra será sarças e espinheiros.

With arrows and with bow shall one come thither; because all the land shall be briers and thorns.

25 E tambem todos os montes, que costumam cavar com enxadas, se não irá a elles por causa do temor das sarças e dos espinheiros, porém servirão para enviarem ali bois e serem pisados do gado miudo.

And all the hills that were digged with the mattock; thou shalt not come thither for fear of briers and thorns, but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of sheep.
