Deuteronômio 13

1 Quando propheta ou sonhador de sonhos se levantar no meio de ti, e te dér um signal ou prodigio,

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and gives you a sign or a wonder,

2 E succeder o tal signal ou prodigio, de que te houver fallado, dizendo: Vamos após outros deuses, que não conheceste, e sirvamol-os;

And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spoke to you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which you have not known, and let us serve them;

3 Não ouvirás as palavras d'aquelle propheta ou sonhador de sonhos: porquanto o Senhor vosso Deus vos prova, para saber se amaes o Senhor vosso Deus com todo o vosso coração, e com toda a vossa alma.

You shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proves you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

4 Após o Senhor vosso Deus andareis, e a elle temereis, e os seus mandamentos guardareis, e a sua voz ouvireis, e a elle servireis, e a elle vos achegareis.

You shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and join to him.

5 E aquelle propheta ou sonhador de sonhos morrerá, pois fallou rebeldia contra o Senhor vosso Deus, que vos tirou da terra do Egypto, e vos resgatou da casa da servidão, para te empuxar do caminho que te ordenou o Senhor teu Deus, para andares n'elle: assim tirarás o mal do meio de ti

And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he has spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust you out of the way which the LORD your God commanded you to walk in. So shall you put the evil away from the middle of you.

6 Quando te incitar teu irmão, filho da tua mãe, ou teu filho, ou tua filha, ou a mulher do teu seio, ou teu amigo, que te é como a tua alma, dizendo-te em segredo: Vamos, e sirvamos a outros deuses que não conheceste, nem tu nem teus paes;

If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, which is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known, you, nor your fathers;

7 D'entre os deuses dos povos que estão em redor de vós, perto ou longe de ti, desde uma extremidade da terra até á outra extremidade;

Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, near to you, or far off from you, from the one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth;

8 Não consentirás com elle, nem o ouvirás; nem o teu olho o poupará, nem terás piedade d'elle, nem o esconderás;

You shall not consent to him, nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him:

9 Mas certamente o matarás; a tua mão será a primeira contra elle, para o matar; e depois a mão de todo o povo.

But you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

10 E com pedras o apedrejarás, até que morra, pois te procurou empuxar do Senhor teu Deus, que te tirou da terra do Egypto, da casa da servidão;

And you shall stone him with stones, that he die; because he has sought to thrust you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

11 Para que todo o Israel o ouça e o tema, e não torne a fazer segundo esta coisa má no meio de ti

And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.

12 Quando ouvires dizer de alguma das tuas cidades que o Senhor teu Deus te dá, para ali habitar;

If you shall hear say in one of your cities, which the LORD your God has given you to dwell there, saying,

13 Uns homens, filhos de Belial, sairam do meio de ti, que incitaram os moradores da sua cidade, dizendo: Vamos, e sirvamos a outros deuses que não conhecestes;

Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which you have not known;

14 Então inquirirás e informar-te-has, e com diligencia perguntarás; e eis que, sendo este negocio verdade, e certo que se fez uma tal abominação no meio de ti;

Then shall you inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is worked among you;

15 Então certamente ferirás ao fio da espada os moradores d'aquella cidade, destruindo ao fio da espada a ella e a tudo o que n'ella houver, até aos animaes.

You shall surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.

16 E ajuntarás todo o seu despojo no meio da sua praça; e a cidade e todo o seu despojo queimarás totalmente para o Senhor teu Deus, e será montão perpetuo, nunca mais se edificará.

And you shall gather all the spoil of it into the middle of the street thereof, and shall burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD your God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.

17 Tambem nada se pegará á tua mão do anathema, para que o Senhor se aparte do ardor da sua ira, e te faça misericordia, e tenha piedade de ti, e te multiplique, como jurou a teus paes;

And there shall stick nothing of the cursed thing to your hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have compassion on you, and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers;

18 Quando ouvires a voz do Senhor teu Deus, para guardar todos os seus mandamentos, que hoje te ordeno; para fazer o que fôr recto aos olhos do Senhor teu Deus.

When you shall listen to the voice of the LORD your God, to keep all his commandments which I command you this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD your God.
