1 I Bóg mówił te wszystkie słowa:
Then God spake all these wordes, saying,
2 Ja [jestem] PAN, twój Bóg, który cię wyprowadził z ziemi Egiptu, z domu niewoli.
I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Nie będziesz miał innych bogów przede mną.
Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me.
4 Nie będziesz czynił sobie żadnego rzeźbionego posągu ani żadnej podobizny [czegokolwiek], co jest w górze na niebie, co jest nisko na ziemi ani co jest w wodach pod ziemią.
Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.
5 Nie będziesz oddawał im pokłonu ani nie będziesz im służył, bo ja jestem PAN, twój Bóg, Bóg zazdrosny, nawiedzający nieprawość ojców na synach do trzeciego i czwartego [pokolenia] tych, którzy mnie nienawidzą;
Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:
6 A okazujący miłosierdzie tysiącom tych, którzy mnie miłują i strzegą moich przykazań.
And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.
7 Nie będziesz brał imienia PANA, twego Boga, nadaremnie, gdyż PAN nie zostawi bez kary tego, który bierze jego imię nadaremnie.
Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne.
8 Pamiętaj o dniu szabatu, aby go święcić.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy.
9 Sześć dni będziesz pracować i wykonywać wszystkie swoje prace;
Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke,
10 Ale siódmy dzień [jest] szabatem PANA, twego Boga. W tym dniu nie będziesz wykonywał żadnej pracy – ani ty, ani twój syn, ani twoja córka, ani twój sługa, ani twoja służąca, ani twoje bydło, ani twój gość, który jest w obrębie twoich bram.
But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
11 PAN bowiem przez sześć dni stworzył niebo i ziemię, morze i wszystko, co jest w nich, a siódmego dnia odpoczął. Dlatego PAN błogosławił dzień szabatu i uświęcił go.
For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Czcij swego ojca i swoją matkę, aby twoje dni były długie na ziemi, którą PAN, twój Bóg, da tobie.
Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.
13 Nie będziesz zabijał.
Thou shalt not kill.
14 Nie będziesz cudzołożył.
Thou shalt not commit adulterie.
15 Nie będziesz kradł.
Thou shalt not steale.
16 Nie będziesz fałszywie świadczył przeciw twemu bliźniemu.
Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.
17 Nie będziesz pożądał domu twego bliźniego ani nie będziesz pożądał żony twego bliźniego, ani jego sługi, ani jego służącej, ani jego wołu, ani jego osła, ani żadnej rzeczy, która należy do twego bliźniego.
Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.
18 Wtedy cały lud widział gromy i błyskawice i [słyszał] głos trąby, i [dostrzegał] dymiącą górę. Gdy lud to widział, cofnął się i stanął z daleka.
And all the people sawe the thunders, and the lightnings, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountaine smoking and when the people saw it they fled and stoode afare off,
19 I mówił do Mojżesza: Ty mów do nas, a będziemy słuchać, ale niech Bóg do nas nie mówi, byśmy nie pomarli.
And sayde vnto Moses, Talke thou with vs, and we will heare: but let not God talke with vs, lest we die.
20 Mojżesz odpowiedział ludowi: Nie bójcie się. Bóg bowiem przyszedł, aby was wystawić na próbę i żeby jego bojaźń była przed waszym obliczem, byście nie grzeszyli.
Then Moses sayde vnto the people, Feare not: for God is come to proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye sinne not.
21 Stał więc lud z daleka, a Mojżesz zbliżył się do gęstego mroku, w którym był Bóg.
So the people stoode afarre off, but Moses drew neere vnto the darkenes where God was.
22 I PAN powiedział do Mojżesza: Tak powiesz synom Izraela: Widzieliście, że mówiłem do was z nieba.
And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Thus thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel, Ye haue seene that I haue talked with you from heauen.
23 Nie będziecie czynić przy mnie bogów ze srebra ani bogów ze złota nie będziecie sobie czynić.
Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of siluer, nor gods of golde: you shall make you none.
24 Uczynisz mi ołtarz z ziemi i będziesz składać na nim twoje całopalenia i [twoje ofiary] pojednawcze, twoje owce i twoje bydło. Na każdym miejscu, gdzie upamiętnię swoje imię, przyjdę do ciebie i będę ci błogosławił.
An altar of earth thou shalt make vnto me, and thereon shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheepe, and thine oxen: in all places, where I shall put the remembrance of my Name, I will come vnto thee, and blesse thee.
25 A jeśli uczynisz mi ołtarz kamienny, nie buduj go z ciosanego [kamienia]. Jeśli bowiem przyłożysz do niego żelazne narzędzie, zbezcześcisz go.
But if thou wilt make mee an altar of stone, thou shalt not buylde it of hewen stones: for if thou lift vp thy toole vpon them, thou hast polluted them.
26 Nie będziesz wstępował po stopniach do mojego ołtarza, aby twoja nagość nie była przy nim odkryta.
Neither shalt thou goe vp by steppes vnto mine altar, that thy filthines be not discouered thereon.
