II Koryntian 5

1 Wiemy bowiem, że jeśli zostanie zniszczony ten namiot naszego ziemskiego mieszkania, to mamy budowlę od Boga, dom nie ręką uczyniony, wieczny w niebiosach. (aiōnios g166)

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)

2 Dlatego w tym wzdychamy, pragnąc przyodziać się w nasz dom z nieba;

For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed on with our house which is from heaven:

3 Jeśli tylko zostaniemy znalezieni odziani, a nie nadzy.

If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

4 Bo my, którzy jesteśmy w tym namiocie, wzdychamy, obciążeni, ponieważ nie pragniemy być rozebrani, ale przyodziani, aby to, co śmiertelne, zostało wchłonięte przez życie.

For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed on, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

5 A tym, który nas do tego właśnie przygotował, [jest] Bóg, który nam też dał Ducha [jako] zadatek.

Now he that has worked us for the selfsame thing is God, who also has given to us the earnest of the Spirit.

6 Tak więc mamy zawsze ufność, wiedząc, że dopóki mieszkamy w tym ciele, tułamy się z dala od Pana.

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

7 (Przez wiarę bowiem kroczymy, a nie przez widzenie.)

(For we walk by faith, not by sight: )

8 Mamy jednak ufność i wolelibyśmy raczej wyjść z ciała i zamieszkać u Pana.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9 Dlatego też zabiegamy o to, żeby się jemu podobać, czy mieszkamy [w ciele], czy [z niego] wychodzimy.

Why we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

10 Wszyscy bowiem musimy stanąć przed trybunałem Chrystusa, aby każdy otrzymał [zapłatę] za to, co [czynił] w ciele, według tego, co czynił, czy dobro, czy zło.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad.

11 Wiedząc zatem o tym strachu Pańskim, przekonujemy ludzi; dla Boga zaś [wszystko] w nas jest jawne; mam też nadzieję, że i dla waszych sumień [wszystko] w nas jest jawne.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest to God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

12 Bo nie polecamy wam ponownie samych siebie, ale dajemy wam sposobność do chlubienia się nami, żebyście mieli co [odpowiedzieć] tym, którzy się chlubią tym, co zewnętrzne, a nie sercem.

For we commend not ourselves again to you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that you may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

13 Jeśli zaś odchodzimy od zmysłów – dla Boga [odchodzimy], jeżeli jesteśmy przy zdrowych zmysłach – dla was [jesteśmy].

For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

14 Miłość Chrystusa bowiem przymusza nas, jako tych, którzy uznaliśmy, że skoro jeden umarł za wszystkich, to wszyscy umarli.

For the love of Christ constrains us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15 A umarł za wszystkich, aby ci, którzy żyją, już więcej nie żyli dla siebie, lecz dla tego, który za nich umarł i został wskrzeszony.

And that he died for all, that they which live should not from now on live to themselves, but to him which died for them, and rose again.

16 Dlatego my odtąd nikogo nie znamy według ciała, a chociaż znaliśmy Chrystusa według ciała, to teraz już [więcej] go [takim] nie znamy.

Why from now on know we no man after the flesh: yes, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now from now on know we him no more.

17 Tak więc jeśli ktoś [jest] w Chrystusie, nowym [jest] stworzeniem; [to, co] stare, przeminęło, oto wszystko stało się nowe.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

18 A wszystko to [jest] z Boga, który nas pojednał ze sobą przez Jezusa Chrystusa i dał nam służbę pojednania.

And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 Bóg bowiem był w Chrystusie, jednając świat z samym sobą, nie poczytując ludziom ich grzechów, i nam powierzył to słowo pojednania.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Tak więc w miejsce Chrystusa sprawujemy poselstwo, tak jakby Bóg upominał [was] przez nas. W miejsce Chrystusa prosimy: Pojednajcie się z Bogiem.

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be you reconciled to God.

21 [On] bowiem tego, który nie znał grzechu, za nas grzechem uczynił, abyśmy w nim stali się sprawiedliwością Bożą.

For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
