Psalmów 47

1 Przedniejszemu śpiewakowi z synów Korego pieśń. Wszystkie narody klaskajcie rękoma, wykrzykajcie Bogu głosem wesela.

You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!

2 Albowiem Pan najwyższy, straszny, jest królem wielkim nad wszystką ziemią.

Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!

3 Podbija ludzi pod moc naszę, a narody pod nogi nasze.

He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].

4 Obrał nam za dziedzictwo nasze chwałę Jakóba, którego umiłował. (Sela)

He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.

5 Wstąpił Bóg z krzykiem; Pan wstąpił z głosem trąby.

God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.

6 Śpiewajcież Bogu, śpiewajcie; śpiewajcież królowi naszemu, śpiewajcie.

Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!

7 Albowiem Bóg królem wszystkiej ziemi; śpiewajcież rozumnie.

God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!

8 Króluje Bóg nad narodami; Bóg siedzi na świętej stolicy swojej.

God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.

9 Książęta narodów przyłączyli się do ludu Boga Abrahamowego; albowiem Boże są tarcze ziemskie; skąd on zacnie jest wywyższony.

The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
