1 Wspomnij, Panie! na to, co się nam przydało; wejrzyj a obacz pohańbienie nasze.
Remember, O Lord, what has befallen us. Consider and look kindly upon our disgrace.
2 Dziedzictwo nasze obrócone jest do obcych, a domy nasze do cudzoziemców.
Our inheritance has been turned over to foreigners; our houses to outsiders.
3 Sierotamiśmy a bez ojca; matki nasze są jako wdowy.
We have become orphans without a father; our mothers are like widows.
4 Wody nasze za pieniądze pijemy, drwa nasze za pieniądze kupujemy.
We paid for our drinking water. We acquired our wood for a price.
5 Na szyi swej prześladowanie cierpiemy, pracujemy, a nie dadzą nam odpocząć.
We were dragged by our necks. Being weary, no rest was given to us.
6 Egipczykom podajemy rękę i Assyryjczykom, żebyśmy się nasycili chleba.
We have given our hand to Egypt and to the Assyrians, so that we may be satisfied with bread.
7 Ojcowie nasi zgrzeszyli, niemasz ich, a my nieprawość ich ponosimy.
Our fathers have sinned, and are not. And we have carried their iniquities.
8 Niewolnicy panują nad nami, niemasz, ktoby nas wybawił z ręki ich.
Servants have become rulers over us. There was no one to redeem us from their hand.
9 Z odwagą duszy naszej szukamy chleba swego dla strachu miecza i na puszczy.
We obtained our bread at the risk of our lives, before the face of the sword, in the wilderness.
10 Skóra nasza jako piec zczerniała od srogości głodu.
Our skin was burned, as if by an oven, before the face of the tempest of the famine.
11 Niewiasty w Syonie pogwałcono; i panny w miastach Judzkich.
They humiliated the women in Zion and the virgins in the cities of Judah.
12 Książęta ręką ich powieszeni są, a osoby starszych nie mają w uczciwości.
The leaders were suspended by their hand. They were not ashamed before the faces of the elders.
13 Młodzięców do żarn biorą, a młodzieniaszkowie po drwami padają.
They have sexually abused the adolescents, and the children were corrupted in the wood.
14 Starcy w bramach więcej nie siadają, a młodzieńcy przestali pieśni swoje.
The elders have ceased from the gates, the youths from the choir of the psalms.
15 Ustało wesele serca naszego, pląsanie nasze w kwilenie się obróciło.
The gladness of our heart has failed, our singing has been turned into mourning.
16 Spadła korona z głowy naszej; biada nam, żeśmy zgrzeszyli!
The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned.
17 Dlategoż mdłe jest serce nasze, dlatego zaćmione są oczy nasze;
Because of this, our heart became gloomy; for this reason, our eyes have been darkened:
18 Dla góry Syońskiej, że jest spustoszona, liszki chodzą po niej.
because of mount Zion, because it was ruined. Foxes have wandered upon it.
19 Ty, Panie! trwasz na wieki, a stolica twoja od narodu do narodu.
But you, O Lord, shall remain for eternity, your throne from generation to generation.
20 Przeczże nas na wieki zapominasz, a opuszczasz nas przez tak długi czas?
Why would you forget us forever? Why would you forsake us for a long time?
21 Nawróć nas do siebie, o Panie! a nawróceni będziemy; odnów dni nasze, jako z dawna były.
Convert us, O Lord, to you, and we shall be converted. Renew our days, as from the beginning.
22 Bo izali nas cale odrzucisz, a gniewać się będziesz na nas tak bardzo?
But you have utterly rejected us; you are vehemently angry against us.
