I Koryntian 14
1 Naśladujcie miłości, starajcie się usilnie o dary duchowne; lecz najwięcej, abyście prorokowali.
Labour after charity, and be desirous of spiritual gifts: but especially that ye may prophesy.
2 Albowiem kto mówi językiem obcym, nie ludziom mówi, ale Bogu; bo żaden nie słucha, lecz on duchem mówi tajemnice.
For he, that speaketh in an unknown tongue, speaketh not to men, but to God: for no one understandeth, though in spirit he speaketh mysteries.
3 Ale kto prorokuje, mówi ludziom zbudowanie i napominanie, i pociechę.
But he, that prophesieth, speaketh edification, and exhortation, and comfort to men.
4 Kto językiem obcym mówi, samego siebie buduje; ale kto prorokuje, ten zbór buduje.
He, that speaketh in an unknown tongue, edifieth himself: but he, that prophesieth, edifieth the church.
5 A chciałbym, abyście wy wszyscy językami mówili, ale abyście raczej prorokowali; albowiem większy jest ten, co prorokuje, niż ten, co językami obcymi mówi, chyba żeby tłumaczył, aby zbór brał zbudowanie.
I could wish that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edification.
6 Teraz tedy, bracia! gdybym przyszedł do was, językami obcymi mówiąc, cóż wam pomogę, jeźlibym wam nie mówił albo przez objawienie, albo przez umiejętność, albo przez proroctwo, albo przez naukę?
Now, my brethren, if I come to you speaking with many tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I speak intelligibly to you of revelation, or knowledge, or prophecy, or doctrine?
7 Wszak i rzeczy nieżywe, które dźwięk wydawają jako piszczałka albo cytra, jeźliby różnego dźwięku nie wydawały, jakoż poznane będzie, co na piszczałce, albo co na cytrze grają?
As inanimate things which give a found, whether pipe or harp, unless they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall what is piped or harped be understood?
8 Albowiem jeźliby trąba niepewny głos dała, któż się do boju gotować będzie?
For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the battle?
9 Także i wy, jeźlibyście językiem nie wydali mowy dobrze zrozumiałej, jakoż będzie zrozumiałe, co się mówi? albowiem będziecie tylko na wiatr mówić.
So also unless ye utter by the tongue intelligible words, how shall what is spoken be understood? for thus ye will be only talking to the wind.
10 Tak wiele, jako słyszymy, jest różnych głosów na świecie, a nic nie jest bez głosu.
There are, it may be, as many kinds of voices in the world as people, and none of them insignificant.
11 Jeźlibym tedy nie znał mocy głosu, będę temu, który mówi, cudzoziemcem; a ten, co mówi, będzie mi także cudzoziemcem.
But if I know not the force of the words, I shall be to him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh will be a barbarian to me.
12 Także i wy, ponieważ się usilnie staracie o dary duchowne, szukajcież tego, abyście obfitowali ku zbudowaniu zboru.
So ye also, since ye are so desirous of spiritual gifts, seek to abound in them to the edification of the church.
13 Dlatego kto mówi obcym językiem, niech się modli, aby mógł tłumaczyć.
Wherefore let him, that speaketh in an unknown tongue, pray that he may interpret.
14 Bo jeźlibym się modlił obcym językiem, modlić się będzie mój duch; ale rozum mój jest bez pożytku.
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit indeed prayeth, but my meaning is fruitless.
15 Cóż tedy jest? Będę się modlił duchem, będę się też modlił i wyrozumieniem; będę śpiewał duchem, będę też śpiewał i wyrozumieniem.
What is then to be done? I will pray with the Spirit, but I will pray to be understood: I will sing with the spirit, but I will sing to be understood.
16 Bo jeźlibyś błogosławił duchem, jakoż ten, który jest z pocztu prostaków, na twoje dziękowanie rzecze Amen, ponieważ nie wie, co mówisz?
For if thou bless in the spirit, how shall the unlearned say Amen to thy thanksgiving, when he knoweth not what thou sayst?
17 Bo choć ty wprawdzie dobrze dziękujesz, ale się drugi nie buduje.
thou indeed givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
18 Dziękuję Bogu mojemu, iż więcej, niż wy wszyscy, językami mówię.
I thank God, I speak with tongues more than you all.
19 A wszakże we zborze wolę pięć słów zrozumiale przemówić, abym i drugich nauczył, niżeli dziesięć tysięcy słów językiem obcym.
But in a public assembly I had rather speak five words to be understood, that I may instruct others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
20 Bracia! nie bądźcie dziećmi wyrozumieniem, ale bądźcie dziećmi złością, a wyrozumieniem dorosłymi bądźcie.
My brethren, be not children in sense: but in malice be infants, and in your judgements shew yourselves to be men.
21 W zakonie napisano: Iż obcemi językami i obcemi wargami mówić będę ludowi temu; a przecię mnie i tak nie usłuchają, mówi Pan.
It is written in the law, "By men of another language, and by other lips, will I speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to me, saith the Lord."
22 Przetoż języki są za cud, nie tym, którzy wierzą, ale niewiernym; a proroctwo nie niewiernym, ale wierzącym.
So that tongues are for a sign, not to believers but to unbelievers: but prophecy not to unbelievers but to those that believe.
23 Jeźliby się tedy wszystek zbór na jedno miejsce zeszedł, a wszyscy by językami obcemi mówili, a weszliby tam prostacy albo niewierni, izali nie rzeką, że szalejecie?
If then the whole church be come together and all speak in unknown tongues, and there come in illiterate persons, or infidels, will they not say that ye are mad?
24 Ale jeźliby wszyscy prorokowali, a wszedłby który niewierny albo prostak, od wszystkich przekonany i od wszystkich sądzony bywa.
But if all prophesy, and there come in an unbeliever, or one unlearned, he is convinced by all, he is judged by all.
25 A tak skrytości serca tego bywają objawione, a on upadłszy na oblicze, pokłonili się Bogu, wyznawając, że Bóg jest prawdziwie w was.
And thus the secrets of his heart are made manifest; so that falling down upon his face he will worship God, declaring that God is indeed among you.
26 Cóż tedy jest, bracia? Gdy się schodzicie, każdy z was ma psalm, ma naukę, ma język, ma objawienie, ma tłumaczenie; wszystko to niech się dzieje ku zbudowaniu.
What is then to be done, my brethren? when ye come together, if any of you hath a psalm, a doctrine, a tongue, a revelation, an interpretation, ---let all be done for edification.
27 Jeźli kto językiem mówi, niech to będzie po dwóch albo najwięcej po trzech, i to na przemiany, a jeden niech tłumaczy.
And if any one speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at most by three, and that by turns; and let one interpret.
28 A jeźliby tłumacza nie było niechże we zborze milczy ten, który obcym językiem mówi, a niech mówi sobie i Bogu.
But if there be no interpreter, let him be silent in the assembly; and let him speak to himself and to God.
29 Ale prorocy niech mówią dwaj albo trzej, a drudzy niech rozsądzą.
And let but two or three of the prophets speak, and the others judge.
30 Jeźliby też inszemu siedzącemu co było objawione, on pierwszy niechaj milczy.
And if any thing be revealed to another sitting by, let the first have done speaking before the other begins.
31 Bo możecie wszyscy jeden po drugim prorokować, aby się wszyscy uczyli i wszyscy pocieszeni byli.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 I duchy proroków są poddane prorokom.
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets:
33 Albowiem Bóg nie jest powodem nieporządku, ale pokoju, jako i we wszystkich zborach świętych.
for God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as we see in all the assemblies of the saints.
34 Niewiasty wasze niech milczą we zborach; albowiem nie pozwolono im, aby mówiły, ale aby poddanemi były, jako i zakon mówi.
Let your women be silent in your assemblies: for it is not permitted to them to speak, but they are to be in subjection, as the law saith.
35 A jeźli się czego nauczyć chcą, niechże w domu mężów swoich pytają, ponieważ sromota niewiastom we zborze mówić.
And if they would learn any thing, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it does not become women to speak in a public assembly.
36 Izali od was słowo Boże wyszło? Izali tylko do was samych przyszło?
Did the word of God come out first from you? or did it come to you only?
37 Izali kto zda się być prorokiem albo duchownym, niech uzna, iż te rzeczy, które wam piszę, są Pańskiem rozkazaniem.
If any one seem to be a prophet, or acted by the Spirit, let him acknowlege that what I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.
38 A jeźli kto nie wie, niechajże nie wie.
But if any will be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 A tak, bracia! starajcie się usilnie o to, abyście prorokowali, a językami obcemi mówić nie zabraniajcie.
Wherefore, my brethren, be most desirous to prophesy, and yet forbid not to speak with tongues:
40 Wszystko się niech dzieje przystojnie i porządnie.
but let all things be done decently and in order.
