Jana 3
1 Wśród faryzeuszy był pewien człowiek imieniem Nikodem, który był żydowskim przywódcą.
Ther was a man of the pharises named Nicodemus a ruler amonge ye Iewes.
2 Pewnej nocy przyszedł do Jezusa i powiedział: —Nauczycielu! Wiemy, że zostałeś posłany przez Boga, bo nikt nie mógłby czynić takich cudów, jakie Ty czynisz, gdyby On go nie posłał.
The same cam to Iesus by nyght and sayde vnto him: Rabbi we knowe that thou arte a teacher whiche arte come from God. For no man coulde do suche miracles as thou doest except God were with him.
3 —Zapewniam cię—rzekł Jezus—że jeśli się ktoś nie narodzi na nowo, nie ujrzy królestwa Bożego.
Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: Verely verely I saye vnto the: except a man be boren a newe he cannot se the kyngdom of God.
4 —Urodzić się na nowo?—zdumiał się Nikodem. —Będąc starcem? Czy można powtórnie wejść do łona matki i urodzić się?
Nicodemus sayde vnto him: how can a man be boren when he is olde? can he enter into his moders wombe and be boren agayne?
5 —Jeszcze raz cię zapewniam—powtórzył Jezus—że jeśli człowiek nie narodzi się z wody i z Ducha, nie wejdzie do królestwa Bożego.
Iesus answered: verely verely I saye vnto the: except that a man be boren of water and of ye sprete he cannot enter into the kyngdome of god.
6 Kto się narodził fizycznie, żyje tylko fizycznie. Kto się jednak narodził z Ducha, żyje także duchowo!
That which is boren of the flesshe is flesshe: and that which is boren of the sprete is sprete.
7 Nie dziw się więc, że powiedziałem, iż trzeba się narodzić na nowo.
Marvayle not that I sayd to the ye must be boren a newe.
8 Wiatr wieje, gdzie chce. Słyszysz go, ale nie wiesz, skąd i dokąd wieje. Podobnie jest z narodzeniem z Ducha—widzisz skutki, ale nie widzisz przyczyny.
The wynde bloweth where he listeth and thou hearest his sounde: but canst not tell whence he cometh and whether he goeth. So is every man that is boren of the sprete.
9 —Ale jak to się dzieje?—pytał dalej Nikodem.
And Nicodemus answered and sayde vnto him: how can these thinges be?
10 —Jesteś nauczycielem narodu i nie wiesz tego?—odparł Jezus.
Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: arte thou a master in Israel and knowest not these thinges?
11 —Zapewniam cię, że mówię o tym, co dobrze znam i co sam widziałem, ale wy nie uznajecie tego.
Verely verely I saye vnto the we speake that we knowe and testify that we have sene: and ye receave not oure witnes.
12 Jeśli nie wierzycie w to, co mówię o sprawach ziemskich, to jak uwierzycie w to, co powiem o sprawach niebiańskich?
Yf when I tell you erthely thinges ye beleve not: how shuld ye beleve yf I shall tell you of hevenly thinges?
13 Nikt jednak nie wstąpił do nieba oprócz Mnie, Syna Człowieczego. Stamtąd bowiem przyszedłem.
And no man ascendeth vp to heaven but he that came doune from heaven that is to saye the sonne of man which is in heaven.
14 Podobnie jak wąż, który na pustyni został podniesiony w górę przez Mojżesza, tak i Ja, Syn Człowieczy, również muszę zostać podniesiony w górę,
And as Moses lifte vp the serpent in the wyldernes even so must the sonne of man be lifte vp
that none that beleveth in him perisshe: but have eternall lyfe. (aiōnios g166)
16 Tak bowiem Bóg ukochał świat, że oddał swojego jedynego Syna, aby każdy, kto Mu uwierzy, nie zginął, ale miał życie wieczne. (aiōnios g166)
For God so loveth the worlde yt he hath geven his only sonne that none that beleve in him shuld perisshe: but shuld have everlastinge lyfe. (aiōnios g166)
17 Bóg nie posłał Syna, aby potępił świat, lecz aby go zbawił.
For God sent not his sonne into the worlde to condepne the worlde: but that the worlde through him might be saved.
18 Ten, kto Mu wierzy, nie podlega potępieniu. Ale ten, kto Mu nie wierzy, już został osądzony, bo nie uwierzył jedynemu Synowi Bożemu.
He that beleveth on him shall not be condepned. But he that beleveth not is condempned all redy be cause he beleveth not in the name of the only sonne of God.
19 Wyrok taki zapadł dlatego, że chociaż na świat przyszło światło, ludzie bardziej pokochali ciemność, bo ich czyny były złe.
And this is the condempnacion: that light is come into the worlde and the me loved darcknes more then light because their dedes were evill.
20 Ten, kto czyni zło, nienawidzi światła i nie zbliża się do niego, aby nie wyszły na jaw jego czyny.
For every man that evyll doeth hateth the light: nether commeth to light lest his dedes shuld be reproved.
21 Kto zaś postępuje zgodnie z prawdą, zbliża się do światła, aby ujawniły się jego czyny, które podobają się Bogu.
But he that doth truth commeth to the light that his dedes might be knowen how that they are wrought in God.
22 Jakiś czas później Jezus wraz z uczniami udał się na tereny Judei. Zatrzymał się tam i udzielał ludziom chrztu.
After these thinges cam Iesus and his disciples into the Iewes londe and ther he haunted with them and baptised.
23 Niedaleko Salim, w Ainon, przebywał również Jan Chrzciciel. On także chrzcił, bo w tych okolicach było dużo wody i wielu ludzi przychodziło do niego, aby ich w niej zanurzył.
And Iohn also baptised in Enon besydes Salim because ther was moche water there and they came and were baptised.
24 W tym czasie Jan był bowiem jeszcze na wolności.
For Iohn was not yet cast into preson.
25 Pewnego dnia ktoś posprzeczał się z uczniami Jana o sprawy dotyczące rytualnych oczyszczeń.
And ther arose a questio bitwene Iohns disciples and the Iewes about purifiynge.
26 Przyszli więc do Jana i zapytali: —Nauczycielu! Ten, którego spotkałeś na drugim brzegu Jordanu i o którym powiedziałeś, że jest Mesjaszem, także chrzci i teraz wszyscy idą do Niego.
And they came vnto Iohn and sayde vnto him: Rabbi he that was with the beyonde Iordan to whom thou barest witnes. Beholde the same baptyseth and all me come to him.
27 —Nikt nie może wziąć czegoś, czego nie otrzymał z nieba—odpowiedział Jan.
Iohn answered and sayde: a man can receave no thinge at all except it be geve him fro heaven.
28 —Sami możecie potwierdzić, że powiedziałem: „Nie jestem Mesjaszem. Zostałem tylko wysłany przed Nim”.
Ye youre selves are witnesses how that I sayde: I am not Christ but am sent before him.
29 Panna młoda należy przecież do pana młodego. A przyjaciel pana młodego cieszy się z tego, że może przy nim stać i słuchać go. Obecnie w całej pełni doświadczam takiej właśnie radości.
He that hath the bryde is the brydegrome. But the frende of the brydegrome which stondeth by and heareth him reioyseth greately of the brydgromes voyce. Tis my ioye is fulfilled.
30 Teraz On będzie się stawał coraz ważniejszy, ja zaś muszę schodzić ze sceny.
He must increace: and I muste decreace.
31 Ten, kto przychodzi z góry, przewyższa wszystkich. Ten zaś, kto pochodzi z ziemi, jest ograniczony do rzeczy ziemskich.
He that commeth from an hye is above all: He that is of ye erth is of the erth and speaketh of the erth. He that cometh from heaven is above all
32 Ten, kto przybywa z nieba, mówi o tym, co widział i słyszał w niebie. Ludzie nie chcą Go słuchać,
and what he hath sene and hearde: that he testifieth: but no man receaveth his testimonye.
33 ci jednak, którzy Mu uwierzyli, uznali, że Bóg mówi prawdę.
How be it he that hath receaved hys testimonye hath set to his seale that God is true.
34 Ten bowiem, kto został wysłany przez Boga, przemawia w Jego imieniu. A Bóg w pełni obdarza Go swoim Duchem.
For he whom God hath sent speaketh the wordes of God. For God geveth not the sprete by measure.
35 Ojciec kocha Syna i wszystko Mu powierzył.
The father loveth the sonne and hath geven all thinges into his honde.
36 Ten, kto wierzy Synowi Bożemu, ma życie wieczne. Ten zaś, kto Mu nie wierzy, nawet nie ujrzy tego życia—przeciwnie: zobaczy gniew Boga. (aiōnios g166)
He that beleveth on the sonne hath everlastynge lyfe: and he that beleveth not the sonne shall not se lyfe but the wrathe of God abydeth on him. (aiōnios g166)
