< Psalm 34 >

1 I PAN kapinga Ieowa ansau karos; au ai pan kapinga i kokolata.
Of David, when he feigned madness in the presence of Abimelech, who drove him away, and he left. I will bless the Lord at all times, in my mouth will his praise be forever.
2 Ngen i en suaiki Ieowa, me luet akan pan rong, ap peren kida.
In the Lord will my heart make her boast, the humble will hear and be glad.
3 Komail iang ia kapinga Ieowa, pwe kitail en wiaki eu, kalangada mar a.
O magnify the Lord with me and let us extol his name together.
4 Ni ai rapaki Ieowa, a kotin sapeng ia, o dore ia la sang nan ai masak karos.
I sought the Lord, and, in answer, he saved me from all my terrors.
5 Me kin ariri i, pan kakelada, o mas arail sota pan namenokala.
Look to him and you will be radiant, with faces unashamed.
6 Ol luet men et lao likwir, Ieowa ap kotin erekier o dorela i sang nan a apwal akan karos.
Here is one who was crushed, but cried and was heard by the Lord, and brought safe out of every trouble.
7 Toulang en Ieowa kotikot ren me lan i o kotin sauasa ir.
The Lord’s angel encamps about those who fear him, and rescues them.
8 Komail song o kilang duen kalangan en Ieowa! Meid pai, me liki i!
O taste and see that the Lord is good, happy those who take refuge in him.
9 Lan Ieowa sapwilim a saraui kan! Pwe me kin lan i, sota pan anane meakot.
Fear the Lord, all his people, for they who fear him lack nothing.
10 Laien pulepul akan lekila o men mangada, a me kin rapaki Ieowa, sota pan anane meakot.
Even young lions may be poor and hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing.
11 Sama ko, komail kodo re i, rong ia, i pan padaki ong komail duen lan Ieowa:
Come, children, listen to me. I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Is me inong iong maur warai, o is me mauki ran kaselel akan?
Which of you is desirous of life, loves many and happy days?
13 Pere sang mesued lo om o kilin au om, pwe re der kotaue.
Then guard your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.
14 A muei sang mesued, ap wiada me mau, rapaki popol ap dadaurata.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 Silang en Ieowa mamangi me pung kan, o karonga ereki ar likwir;
The eyes of the Lord are towards the righteous, his ears are towards their cry for help.
16 A silang en Ieowa kin palian ir, me kin wia mesued, pwen kawe ir ala sang nan sappa.
The Lord sets his face against those who do evil, to root their memory out of the earth.
17 Irail kin likwir, Ieowa ap kotin mangi ir o kotin sauasa ir sang ni ar apwal akan karos.
When righteous cry, they are heard by the Lord, and he saves them from all their distresses.
18 Ieowa koren iong ir, me mongiong arail arail olar, o kotin sauasa ir, me ngen arail olar.
The Lord is near to the broken-hearted, he helps those whose spirit is crushed.
19 Kalokolok toto lel ong me pung kan, a Ieowa kin kotin sauasa ir sang nan mepukat karos.
Many misfortunes befall the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all.
20 A kotin sinsila kokon akan karos, pwe eu ender tip pasang.
He guards all their bones, none are broken.
21 Me sued kot pan kamela mo doo sang Kot akan, o me kin kailonki me pung kan, pan kalokolok.
Misfortune will slay the ungodly; those who hate the righteous are doomed.
22 Ieowa kin kotin dorela ngen en sapwilim a ladu kan, o karos me liki i sota pan kalokolok.
The Lord ransoms the life of his servants, and none will be doomed who takes refuge in him.
