| هنگامی که عیسی از بالای تپه به پایین می‌آمد، بسیاری به‌دنبال او به راه افتادند. | 1 |
And when he had descended from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
| ناگهان مردی جذامی به او نزدیک شد و در مقابل او زانو زد و گفت: «ای سَرورم، اگر بخواهی، می‌توانی مرا شفا داده، پاک سازی.» | 2 |
And behold, a leper, drawing near, adored him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you are able to cleanse me.”
| عیسی دست خود را دراز کرد و بر او گذاشت و فرمود: «البته که می‌خواهم؛ شفا بیاب!» در همان لحظه، جذام او از بین رفت! | 3 |
And Jesus, extending his hand, touched him, saying: “I am willing. Be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
| آنگاه عیسی به او فرمود: «مواظب باش که در این باره چیزی به کسی نگویی؛ بلکه نزد کاهن برو تا تو را معاینه کند، و آن هدیه‌ای را هم که موسی برای جذامی‌های شفا یافته تعیین کرده، با خودت ببر تا به همه ثابت شود که شفا یافته‌ای.» | 4 |
And Jesus said to him: “See to it that you tell no one. But go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses instructed, as a testimony for them.”
| وقتی عیسی وارد شهر کَفَرناحوم شد، یک افسر رومی نزدش آمد و خواهش‌کنان به او گفت: | 5 |
And when he had entered into Capernaum, a centurion approached, petitioning him,
| «سَروَر من، خدمتکار جوانم فلج شده، در بستر افتاده، و از درد به خود می‌پیچد». | 6 |
and saying, “Lord, my servant lies at home paralyzed and badly tormented.”
| عیسی به او گفت: «من می‌آیم و او را شفا می‌دهم.» | 7 |
And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”
| اما افسر در پاسخ عرض کرد: «سَروَرم، من شایسته نیستم که به خانهٔ من بیایی. از همین جا فقط سخنی بگو که خدمتکارم شفا خواهد یافت. | 8 |
And responding, the centurion said: “Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant shall be healed.
| من این را می‌دانم، چون من از افسران مافوق فرمان می‌گیرم، و خودم هم سربازانی زیر فرمان خود دارم. کافی است به یکی بگویم”برو“، می‌رود، یا به دیگری بگویم”بیا“، می‌آید؛ یا اگر به غلامم بگویم”فلان کار را بکن“، انجام می‌دهد.» | 9 |
For I, too, am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
| عیسی با شنیدن این سخن، حیرت کرد! سپس رو به کسانی که به دنبالش می‌آمدند کرد و گفت: «براستی به شما می‌گویم که چنین ایمانی حتی در اسرائیل هم ندیده‌ام. | 10 |
And, hearing this, Jesus wondered. And he said to those following him: “Amen I say to you, I have not found so great a faith in Israel.
| این را به شما بگویم که بسیاری از سرتاسر جهان، از شرق و غرب آمده، با ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب، در ضیافتِ ملکوت آسمان همنشین خواهند شد؛ | 11 |
For I say to you, that many shall come from the east and the west, and they shall sit at table with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
| اما بسیاری از یهودیان، که ملکوت برای آنان مهیا شده بود، به تاریکیِ بیرونی افکنده خواهند شد، به جایی که در آن گریه و ساییدن دندان بر دندان خواهد بود.» | 12 |
But the sons of the kingdom shall be cast into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
| سپس رو به افسر رومی کرد و گفت: «به خانه‌ات برگرد. مطابق ایمانت انجام شد.» خدمتکار جوان او در همان لحظه شفا یافته بود! | 13 |
And Jesus said to the centurion, “Go, and just as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And the servant was healed at that very hour.
| هنگامی که عیسی به خانهٔ پطرس رسید، دید که مادر زن او تب کرده و در رختخواب است. | 14 |
And when Jesus had arrived at the house of Peter, he saw his mother-in-law lying ill with a fever.
| اما وقتی عیسی دست او را لمس کرد تبش قطع شد. پس او برخاست و سرگرم پذیرایی از عیسی شد. | 15 |
And he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose up and ministered to them.
| هنگام غروب، مردم عدهٔ زیادی از دیوزدگان را نزد عیسی آوردند، و او فقط با گفتن یک کلمه، ارواح پلید را از وجود آنان اخراج کرد و همۀ بیماران را شفا بخشید. | 16 |
And when evening arrived, they brought to him many who had demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word. And he healed all those having maladies,
| به این شکل، کلام خدا توسط اشعیای نبی به حقیقت پیوست که گفته بود: «او ضعف‌های ما را برداشت و مرض‌های ما را حمل کرد.» | 17 |
in order to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah, saying, “He took our infirmities, and he carried away our diseases.”
| وقتی عیسی دید که جمعیت بزرگی نزد او گرد می‌آیند، به شاگردانش فرمود: «به آن طرف دریاچه برویم.» | 18 |
Then Jesus, seeing the great crowds encircling him, gave orders to go across the sea.
| در آن لحظه، یکی از علمای دین یهود نزد او آمد و گفت: «استاد، هر جا بروی، از تو پیروی خواهم کرد.» | 19 |
And one scribe, approaching, said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you will go.”
| اما عیسی به او گفت: «روباه‌ها برای خود لانه دارند و پرندگان، آشیانه؛ اما پسر انسان جایی ندارد که حتی سرش را بر آن بگذارد.» | 20 |
And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have dens, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to rest his head.”
| یکی دیگر از شاگردانش به او گفت: «سَرورم، اجازه بفرما تا اول به خانه بازگردم و پدرم را دفن کنم.» | 21 |
Then another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.”
| اما عیسی به او گفت: «دنبال من بیا، و بگذار مردگان، مردگانِ خود را دفن کنند.» | 22 |
But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and allow the dead to bury their dead.”
| آنگاه عیسی سوار قایق شد و شاگردانش نیز او را دنبال کردند. | 23 |
And climbing into a boat, his disciples followed him.
| ناگهان دریاچه دچار توفانی سخت شد، به طوری که قایق نزدیک بود غرق شود. اما عیسی در خواب بود. | 24 |
And behold, a great tempest occurred in the sea, so much so that the boat was covered with waves; yet truly, he was sleeping.
| شاگردانش به او نزدیک شدند و بیدارش کرده، فریادکنان گفتند: «سَرور ما، به دادمان برس؛ نزدیک است غرق شویم!» | 25 |
And his disciples drew near to him, and they awakened him, saying: “Lord, save us, we are perishing.”
| عیسی پاسخ داد: «ای کم‌ایمانان! چرا چنین وحشت کرده‌اید؟» سپس برخاست و بر باد و امواج نهیب زد، و آرامشی کامل پدید آمد. | 26 |
And Jesus said to them, “Why are you afraid, O little in faith?” Then rising up, he commanded the winds, and the sea. And a great tranquility occurred.
| شاگردان که حیرت‌زده شده بودند، به یکدیگر می‌گفتند: «این چگونه شخصی است که حتی باد و امواج نیز از او فرمان می‌برند!» | 27 |
Moreover, the men wondered, saying: “What kind of man is this? For even the winds and the sea obey him.”
| وقتی عیسی به آن طرف دریاچه، به ناحیۀ جَدَریان رسید، دو مرد دیوزده به او برخوردند. آن دو در قبرستان زندگی می‌کردند و چنان خشن و وحشی بودند که کسی جرأت نداشت از آن منطقه عبور کند. | 28 |
And when he had arrived across the sea, into the region of the Gerasenes, he was met by two who had demons, who were so exceedingly savage, as they went out from among the tombs, that no one was able to cross by that way.
| آنها فریاد زدند: «ای پسر خدا، با ما چه کار داری؟ آیا آمده‌ای تا قبل از زمانی که خدا تعیین کرده، ما را عذاب دهی؟» | 29 |
And behold, they cried out, saying: “What are we to you, O Jesus, the Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”
| از قضا، کمی دورتر یک گلهٔ خوک می‌چرید. | 30 |
Now there was, not far from them, a herd of many swine feeding.
| پس ارواح پلید از عیسی خواهش کرده، گفتند: «اگر می‌خواهی ما را بیرون کنی، ما را به درون این گلۀ خوکها بفرست.» | 31 |
Then the demons petitioned him, saying: “If you cast us from here, send us into the herd of swine.”
| عیسی به آنها گفت: «بسیار خوب، بروید.» ارواح پلید از وجود آن دو مرد بیرون آمدند و به درون خوکها رفتند. ناگاه تمام گله، از سراشیبی تپه به دریاچه ریختند و خفه شدند. | 32 |
And he said to them, “Go.” And they, going out, went into the swine. And behold, the entire herd suddenly rushed along a steep place into the sea. And they died in the waters.
| خوک‌چرانها فرار کرده، به شهر رفتند و به همه گفتند که بر آن دو دیوزده چه گذشت. | 33 |
Then the shepherds fled, and arriving in the city, they reported on all this, and on those who had had the demons.
| در نتیجه، تمام اهالی شهر بیرون ریختند تا عیسی را ببینند، و وقتی او را دیدند، از او التماس کردند که از آنجا برود و ایشان را به حال خودشان بگذارد. | 34 |
And behold, the entire city went out to meet Jesus. And having seen him, they petitioned him, so that he would cross from their borders.
