| ای کاهنان، به این اخطار خداوند لشکرهای آسمان گوش دهید: «اگر خود را اصلاح نکنید و نام مرا احترام ننمایید، شما را به‌شدت مجازات خواهم کرد، و به جای اینکه شما را برکت دهم، شما را لعنت خواهم نمود. در واقع از همین حالا شما زیر لعنت هستید، زیرا اوامر مرا در دل خود جای نمی‌دهید. | 1 |
"Now, you priests, this commandment is for you.

If you will not listen, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name," says the LORD of hosts, "then will I send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.
| «فرزندان شما را تنبیه می‌کنم و سرگین حیواناتی را که برایم قربانی می‌کنید به صورتتان می‌پاشم و شما را مثل سرگین بیرون می‌اندازم. | 3 |
Look, I will rebuke your seed, and will spread dung on your faces, even the dung of your feasts; and you will be taken away with it.
| آنگاه خواهید فهمید به این دلیل چنین اخطاری به شما کردم تا شما را به سوی قوانین و دستورهایی که به جدتان لاوی داده بودم، بازگردانم. این است فرمودۀ خداوند لشکرهای آسمان. | 4 |
You will know that I have sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi," says the LORD of hosts.
| هدف از این قوانین این بود که به کاهنان نسل لاوی حیات و آرامش ببخشد تا ایشان با اجرای آنها نشان دهند که احترام و ترس مرا در دل دارند. | 5 |
"My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him that he might be reverent toward me; and he was reverent toward me, and stood in awe of my name.
| کاهنان نسل لاوی قوانین حقیقی را به قوم تعلیم می‌دادند. نه دروغ می‌گفتند و نه تقلب می‌کردند بلکه از راههای من پیروی نموده، آنچه را که راست بود به عمل می‌آوردند. آنها توانستند بسیاری را از راههای گناه‌آلود بازگردانند. | 6 |
The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.
| «کاهنان باید قوانین را تعلیم دهند تا مردم بتوانند خدا را بشناسند، زیرا کاهنان سخنگویان خداوند لشکرهای آسمان هستند و مردم باید برای راهنمایی پیش آنها بیایند؛ | 7 |
For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.
| ولی شما راههای خداوند را ترک کرده‌اید و با راهنمایی‌های خود بسیاری را از راه راست منحرف ساخته‌اید. شما عهدی را که با لاوی بستم، شکسته‌اید. این است فرمودۀ خداوند لشکرهای آسمان. | 8 |
But you have turned aside out of the way. You have caused many to stumble in the law. You have corrupted the covenant of Levi," says the LORD of hosts.
| بنابراین، من شما را در نظر مردم پست و خوار می‌گردانم، زیرا احکام مرا نگه نمی‌دارید و در اجرای قوانین، انصاف را رعایت نمی‌کنید.» | 9 |
"Therefore I have also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according to the way you have not kept my ways, but have had respect for persons in the law.
| آیا همهٔ ما از یک پدر نیستیم؟ آیا همگی ما به‌وسیلۀ یک خدا آفریده نشده‌ایم؟ پس چرا به یکدیگر خیانت می‌کنیم و عهدی را که خدا با پدران ما بست می‌شکنیم؟ | 10 |
Do we not all have one father? Hasn't one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?
| مردم یهودا، در اورشلیم و در سراسر خاک اسرائیل به خدا خیانت ورزیده، گناه بزرگی مرتکب شده‌اند، زیرا مردان یهودا با گرفتن زنان بت‌پرست، خانهٔ مقدّس و محبوب خداوند را آلوده کرده‌اند. | 11 |
Judah has dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah has profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loves, and has married the daughter of a foreign god.
| خداوند تمام کسانی را که چنین کرده‌اند خواه کاهن باشند، خواه غیرکاهن، از قوم خود اسرائیل اخراج خواهد کرد، هرچند برای خداوند لشکرهای آسمان قربانی تقدیم کنند. | 12 |
The LORD will cut off, to the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob, and him who offers an offering to the LORD of hosts.
| شما مذبح خداوند را با اشکهای خود پر می‌کنید، زیرا دیگر خداوند هدایای شما را منظور نمی‌دارد و آنها را با خشنودی نمی‌پذیرد. | 13 |
This again you do: you cover the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn't regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand.
| می‌گویید: «چرا نمی‌پذیرد؟» دلیلش این است که تو به همسرت که در جوانی با وی پیوند وفاداری بسته بودی، خیانت کرده‌ای و خداوند که شاهد این پیوند بوده، خیانت تو را دیده است. | 14 |
Yet you say, 'Why?' Because the LORD has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.
| آیا خداوند تو را با همسرت یکی نساخت؟ شما در بدن و روح مال او هستید. حال، خداوند از شما چه می‌خواهد؟ او می‌خواهد که فرزندان خداشناس داشته باشید. پس مواظب باشید که به همسر خود خیانت نکنید. | 15 |
Did he not make one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
| خداوند، خدای اسرائیل می‌فرماید: «من از طلاق نفرت دارم، و نیز از اینکه کسی ظلم را همچون جامه به تن کند. پس مواظب روحهای خود باشید و از خیانت بپرهیزید.» این است فرمودۀ خداوند لشکرهای آسمان. | 16 |
For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence." says the LORD of hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.
| شما با حرفهایی که می‌زنید خداوند را خسته کرده‌اید! می‌پرسید: «با کدام حرفها؟» با این حرفها که می‌گویید: «خدایی که به انصاف داوری می‌کند کجاست؟ مثل اینکه او بدکاران را دوست دارد و از آنها خشنود است!» | 17 |
You have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet you say, 'How have we wearied him?' In that you say, 'Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them;' or 'Where is the God of justice?'
