مزامیر 91

۱ 1 آنکه در ستر حضرت اعلی نشسته است، زیر سایه قادرمطلق ساکن خواهد بود.

Those who live under the protection of God Almighty, will be able to rest [safely] under his care.

۲ 2 درباره خداوند می‌گویم که او ملجاو قلعه من است و خدای من که بر او توکل دارم.

I will declare to Yahweh, “You protect me; [you are like] a fort [MET] in which I am safe. You are my God, the one in whom I trust.”

۳ 3 زیرا که او تو را از دام صیاد خواهد رهانید و ازوبای خبیث.

Yahweh will rescue you from all hidden traps and save you from deadly diseases.

۴ 4 به پرهای خود تو را خواهدپوشانید و زیر بالهایش پناه خواهی گرفت. راستی او تو را مجن و سپر خواهد بود.

He will shield/protect you [like a bird shields/protects its chicks] [MET] with/under her wings. You will be safe (in his care/because he takes care of you). His faithfully doing what he has promised is like a shield [MET] that will protect you.

۵ 5 از خوفی درشب نخواهی ترسید و نه از تیری که در روزمی پرد.

You will not be afraid of things that happen during the night that could (terrorize you/cause you to be very afraid), or of arrows that [your enemies will shoot at you] during the day.

۶ 6 و نه از وبایی که در تاریکی می‌خرامد ونه از طاعونی که وقت ظهر فساد می‌کند.

You will not be afraid of (plagues/widespread sicknesses) that demons cause when they attack people at night, or of other [evil forces] that kill people at midday.

۷ 7 هزارنفر به‌جانب تو خواهند افتاد و ده هزار به‌دست راست تو. لیکن نزد تو نخواهد رسید.

Even if 1,000 people fall [dead] alongside you, even if 10,000 [people are dying] around you, you will not be harmed.

۸ 8 فقط به چشمان خود خواهی نگریست و پاداش شریران را خواهی دید.

Look and see that (wicked people are being punished/God is punishing wicked people)!

۹ 9 زیرا گفتی تو‌ای خداوندملجای من هستی و حضرت اعلی را ماوای خویش گردانیده‌ای.

If you allow Yahweh to protect you, if you trust God Almighty to (shelter/take care of) you,

۱۰ 10 هیچ بدی بر تو واقع نخواهد شد و بلایی نزد خیمه تو نخواهد رسید.

nothing evil will happen to you; no plague will come near your house,

۱۱ 11 زیرا که فرشتگان خود را درباره تو امر خواهدفرمود تا در تمامی راههایت تو را حفظ نمایند.

because Yahweh will command his angels to protect you wherever you go.

۱۲ 12 تو را بر دستهای خود برخواهند داشت، مباداپای خود را به سنگ بزنی.

They will hold you up with their hands, with the result that you will not hurt your foot on a big stone.

۱۳ 13 بر شیر و افعی پای خواهی نهاد؛ شیربچه و اژدها را پایمال خواهی کرد.

You will be [kept safe from being harmed by your enemies] [MET]; [it will be as though] you are stepping on lions and poisonous snakes [without them harming you!]

۱۴ 14 «چونکه به من رغبت دارد او را خواهم رهانید و چونکه به اسم من عارف است او راسرافراز خواهم ساخت.

[Yahweh says], “I will rescue those who love me, I will protect them because they (acknowledge that I am Yahweh/know me).

۱۵ 15 چون مرا خواند او رااجابت خواهم کرد. من در تنگی با او خواهم بود واو را نجات داده، معزز خواهم ساخت.

When they call out to me, I will answer them. I will help them when they are experiencing trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.

۱۶ 16 به طول ایام او را سیر می‌گردانم و نجات خویش را بدونشان خواهم داد.»

I will reward them by enabling them to live a long time, and I will save them.”
