| برای سالار مغنیان بر فاخته ساکت در بلاد بعیده. مکتوم داود وقتی که فلسطینیان او را در جت گرفتند ای خدا بر من رحم فرما، زیرا که انسان مرا به شدت تعاقب می‌کند. تمامی روزجنگ کرده، مرا اذیت می‌نماید. | ۱ 1 |
“To the chief musician upon Jonath-elem-rechokim, by David, a Michtham, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.” Be gracious unto me, O God; for man longeth to swallow me up; all the time he oppresseth me fighting.
| خصمانم تمامی روز مرا به شدت تعاقب می‌کنند. زیرا که بسیاری با تکبر با من می‌جنگند. | ۲ 2 |
Those that regard me with envy long to swallow [me] up all the time; for many are they that fight against me, O thou Most High.
| هنگامی که ترسان شوم، من بر تو توکل خواهم داشت. | ۳ 3 |
The day [when] I am afraid, I will still trust in thee.
| در خدا کلام او را خواهم ستود. بر خداتوکل کرده، نخواهم ترسید. انسان به من چه می‌تواند کرد؟ | ۴ 4 |
In God will I praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid: what can flesh do unto me?
| هر روزه سخنان مرا منحرف می‌سازند. همه فکرهای ایشان درباره من برشرارت است. | ۵ 5 |
All the day they wrest my words: against me are all their thoughts for evil.
| ایشان جمع شده، کمین می‌سازند. بر قدمهای من چشم دارند زیرا قصدجان من دارند. | ۶ 6 |
They come together in troops, they hide themselves, they are those that watch my heels, as though they hoped [to take] my soul.
| آیا ایشان به‌سبب شرارت خودنجات خواهند یافت؟ ای خدا امت‌ها را درغضب خویش بینداز. | ۷ 7 |
Because of their wrong-doing let me escape from them: in anger cast down the people, O God.
| تو آوارگیهای مرا تقریر کرده‌ای. اشکهایم را در مشک خود بگذار. آیا این در دفتر تو نیست؟ | ۸ 8 |
My wanderings hast thou well numbered: put thou my tears into thy bottle; behold, they are numbered by thee.
| آنگاه در روزی که تو رابخوانم دشمنانم روخواهند گردانید. این رامی دانم زیرا خدا با من است. | ۹ 9 |
Then shall my enemies retire backward on the day when I call [on thee]: this I know—that God is for me.
| در خدا کلام او را خواهم ستود. درخداوند کلام او را خواهم ستود. | ۱۰ 10 |
In God will I praise the word: in the Lord will I praise the word.
| بر خدا توکل دارم پس نخواهم ترسید. آدمیان به من چه می‌توانند کرد؟ | ۱۱ 11 |
In God have I put my trust; I will not be afraid: what can man do unto me?
| ای خدا نذرهای تو بر من است. قربانی های حمد را نزد تو خواهم گذرانید. | ۱۲ 12 |
Upon me, O God, [rest] thy vows: I will pay thanksgiving offerings unto thee.
| زیرا که جانم را از موت رهانیده‌ای. آیا پایهایم را نیز از لغزیدن نگاه نخواهی داشت تا در نورزندگان به حضور خدا سالک باشم؟ | ۱۳ 13 |
For thou hast delivered my soul from death—yea, behold, my feet from slipping, that I may walk before God in the light of the life.
