| برای سالار مغنیان. مزمور بنی قورح ای تمامی قوم‌ها این را بشنوید! ای جمیع سکنه ربع مسکون این را گوش گیرید! | ۱ 1 |
For the end, a Psalm for the sons of Core. Hear these words, all ye nations, hearken, all ye that dwell upon the earth:
| ای عوام و خواص! ای دولتمندان وفقیران جمیع! | ۲ 2 |
both the sons of mean men, and sons of [great] men; the rich and poor [man] together.
| زبانم به حکمت سخن می‌راند وتفکر دل من فطانت است. | ۳ 3 |
My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall bring [forth] understanding.
| گوش خود را به مثلی فرا می‌گیرم. معمای خویش را بر بربط می‌گشایم. | ۴ 4 |
I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my riddle on the harp.
| چرا در روزهای بلا ترسان باشم، چون گناه پاشنه هایم مرا احاطه می‌کند؛ | ۵ 5 |
Wherefore should I fear in the evil day? the iniquity of my heel shall compass me.
| آنانی که بر دولت خود اعتماد دارند و بر کثرت توانگری خویش فخر می‌نمایند. | ۶ 6 |
They that trust in their strength, and boast themselves in the multitude of their wealth—
| هیچ‌کس هرگز برای برادر خودفدیه نخواهد داد و کفاره او را به خدا نخواهد بخشید. | ۷ 7 |
A brother does not redeem, shall a man redeem? he shall not give to God a ransom for himself,
| زیرا فدیه جان ایشان گران بهاست و ابد بدان نمی توان رسید | ۸ 8 |
or the price of the redemption of his soul, though he labour for ever,
| تا زنده بماند تا ابدالاباد وفساد را نبیند. | ۹ 9 |
and live to the end, [so] that he should not see corruption.
| زیرا می‌بیند که حکیمان می‌میرند. و جاهلان و ابلهان با هم هلاک می‌گردند و دولت خود را برای دیگران ترک می‌کنند. | ۱۰ 10 |
When he shall see wise men dying, the fool and the senseless one shall perish together; and they shall leave their wealth to strangers.
| فکر دل ایشان این است که خانه های ایشان دائمی باشد و مسکنهای ایشان دوربه دور؛ و نامهای خود را بر زمینهای خود می‌نهند. | ۱۱ 11 |
And their sepulchres are their houses for ever, [even] their tabernacles to all generations: they have called their lands after their own names.
| لیکن انسان در حرمت باقی نمی ماند، بلکه مثل بهایم است که هلاک می‌شود. | ۱۲ 12 |
And man being in honour, understands not: he is compared to the senseless cattle, and is like to them.
| این طریقه ایشان، جهالت ایشان است و اعقاب ایشان سخن ایشان را می‌پسندند، سلاه. | ۱۳ 13 |
This their way is an offence to them: yet afterwards men will commend their sayings. (Pause)
| مثل گوسفندان درهاویه رانده می‌شوند و موت ایشان را شبانی می‌کند و صبحگاهان راستان بر ایشان حکومت خواهند کرد و جمال ایشان در هاویه پوسیده خواهد شد تا مسکنی برای آن نباشد. (Sheol h7585) | ۱۴ 14 |
They have laid [them] as sheep in Hades; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning, and their help shall fail in Hades from their glory. (Sheol h7585)
| لیکن خدا جان مرا از دست هاویه نجات خواهد دادزیرا که مرا خواهد گرفت، سلاه. (Sheol h7585) | ۱۵ 15 |
But God shall deliver my soul from the power of Hades, when he shall receive me. (Pause) (Sheol h7585)
| پس ترسان مباش، چون کسی دولتمندگردد و جلال خانه او افزوده شود! | ۱۶ 16 |
Fear not when a man is enriched, and when the glory of his house is increased.
| زیرا چون بمیرد چیزی از آن نخواهد برد و جلالش در عقب او فرو نخواهد رفت. | ۱۷ 17 |
For he shall take nothing when he dies; neither shall his glory descend with him.
| زیرا در حیات خود، خویشتن را مبارک می‌خواند. و چون بر خوداحسان می‌کنی، مردم ترا می‌ستایند. | ۱۸ 18 |
For his soul shall be blessed in his life: he shall give thanks to thee when thou dost well to him.
| لیکن به طبقه پدران خود خواهد پیوست که نور را تا به ابدنخواهند دید. | ۱۹ 19 |
[Yet] he shall go in to the generation of his fathers; he shall never see light.
| انسانی که در حرمت است وفهم ندارد، مثل بهایم است که هلاک می‌شود. | ۲۰ 20 |
