۱ 1 قصیده داود و دعا وقتیکه در مغاره بود به آواز خود نزد خداوند فریادبرمی آورم. به آواز خود نزد خداوندتضرع می‌نمایم.

An Instructive Psalm of David. When he was in the Cave. A Prayer. With my voice—to Yahweh, make I outcry, With my voice—to Yahweh, make I supplication:

۲ 2 ناله خود را در حضور اوخواهم ریخت. تنگی های خود را نزد او بیان خواهم کرد.

I pour out before him my complaint, My distress—before him, I tell.

۳ 3 وقتی که روح من در من مدهوش می‌شود. پس تو طریقت مرا دانسته‌ای. در راهی که می‌روم دام برای من پنهان کرده‌اند.

When my spirit fainted concerning myself, then, thou, didst take note of my path, —In the course which I was about to take, they had hidden a snare for me.

۴ 4 به طرف راست بنگر و ببین که کسی نیست که مرا بشناسد. ملجا برای من نابود شد. کسی نیست که در فکرجان من باشد.

Look to the right hand and see, that there is none that, for me, hath regard, —Escape is lost to me, There is no one to care for my life.

۵ 5 نزد تو‌ای خداوند فریاد کردم وگفتم که تو ملجا و حصه من در زمین زندگان هستی.

I have made outcry unto thee, O Yahweh, —I have said, Thou, art my refuge, my portion, in the land of the living.

۶ 6 به ناله من توجه کن زیرا که بسیار ذلیلم! مرا از جفاکنندگانم برهان، زیرا که از من زورآورترند.

Attend thou unto my loud cry, for I am brought very low, —Rescue me from my pursuers, for they are stronger than I.

۷ 7 جان مرا از زندان درآور تا نام تو را حمد گویم. عادلان گرداگرد من خواهند آمد زیراکه به من احسان نموده‌ای.

O bring forth, out of prison, my soul, That I may give thanks unto thy Name, —About me, let the righteous gather round, for thou wilt deal bountifully with me.
