| خراب کننده در مقابل تو برمی آید. حصاررا حفظ کن، راه را دیدبانی نما، کمر خود راقوی گردان و قوت خویش را بسیار زیاد کن. | ۱ 1 |
He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.
| زیرا خداوند عظمت یعقوب را مثل عظمت اسرائیل باز می‌آورد و تاراج کنندگان ایشان را تاراج می‌کنند و شاخه های موهای ایشان را تلف می‌نمایند. | ۲ 2 |
For YHWH hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
| سپر جباران او سرخ شده و مردان جنگی به قرمز ملبس و ارابه‌ها در روز تهیه او ازفولاد لامع است و نیزه‌ها متحرک می‌باشد. | ۳ 3 |
The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
| ارابه‌ها را در کوچه‌ها بتندی می‌رانند، درچهارسوها بهم برمی خورند. نمایش آنها مثل مشعلها است و مانند برقها می‌دوند. | ۴ 4 |
The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
| او بزرگان خود را به یاد می‌آورد و ایشان در راه رفتن لغزش می‌خورند. دوان دوان به حصار می‌آیند ومنجنیق را حاضر می‌سازند. | ۵ 5 |
He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make hast to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
| دروازه های نهرهاگشاده است و قصر گداخته می‌گردد. | ۶ 6 |
The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
| و حصب برهنه شده، (به اسیری ) برده می‌شود و کنیزانش مثل ناله فاخته‌ها سینه زنان ناله می‌کنند. | ۷ 7 |
And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
| و نینوااز روزی که به وجود آمد، مانند برکه آب می‌بود. اما اهلش فرار می‌کنند، (و اگر‌چه صدا می‌زنند)که «بایستید! بایستید!»، لیکن احدی ملتفت نمی شود. | ۸ 8 |
But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.
| نقره را غارت کنید و طلا را به یغما برید زیراکه اندوخته های او را و کثرت هرگونه متاع نفیسه‌اش را انتهایی نیست. | ۹ 9 |
Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
| او خالی و ویران وخراب است و دلش گداخته و زانوهایش لرزان ودر همه کمرها درد شدید می‌باشد و رنگ رویهای همه پریده است. | ۱۰ 10 |
She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
| بیشه شیران و مرتع شیران ژیان کجا است که در آن شیر نر و شیر ماده و شیر بچه می‌خرامیدند و ترساننده‌ای نبود؟ | ۱۱ 11 |
Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?
| شیر نر برای حاجت بچه های خود می‌درید وبه جهت شیرهای ماده‌اش خفه می‌کرد ومغاره های خود را از شکار و بیشه های خویش رااز صید پر می‌ساخت. | ۱۲ 12 |
The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
| اما الان یهوه صبایوت می‌گوید: «من به ضدتو هستم و ارابه هایش را به دود خواهم سوزانید وشمشیر، شیران ژیان تو را هلاک خواهد ساخت و شکار تو را از زمین منقطع خواهم نمود و آوازایلچیانت دیگر مسموع نخواهد شد.» | ۱۳ 13 |
Behold, I am against thee, saith YHWH of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
