سوگنامه 2

۱ 1 صهیون را به ظلمت پوشانیده و جلال اسرائیل را از آسمان به زمین افکنده است. وقدمگاه خویش را در روز خشم خود به یادنیاورده است.

How hath YHWH covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger, and cast down from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered not his footstool in the day of his anger!

۲ 2 خداوند تمامی مسکن های یعقوب را هلاک کرده و شفقت ننموده است. قلعه های دختر یهودارا در غضب خود منهدم ساخته، و سلطنت وسرورانش را به زمین انداخته، بی‌عصمت ساخته است.

YHWH hath swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied: he hath thrown down in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought them down to the ground: he hath polluted the kingdom and the princes thereof.

۳ 3 در حدت خشم خود تمامی شاخهای اسرائیل را منقطع ساخته، دست راست خود را ازپیش روی دشمن برگردانیده است. و یعقوب رامثل آتش مشتعل که از هر طرف می‌بلعدسوزانیده است.

He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.

۴ 4 کمان خود را مثل دشمن زه کرده، با دست راست خود مثل عدو برپا ایستاده است. و همه آنانی را که در خیمه دختر صهیون نیکو منظربودند به قتل رسانیده، غضب خویش را مثل آتش ریخته است.

He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.

۵ 5 خداوند مثل دشمن شده، اسرائیل را هلاک کرده و تمامی قصرهایش را منهدم ساخته وقلعه هایش را خراب نموده است. و برای دختریهودا ماتم و ناله را افزوده است.

YHWH was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

۶ 6 و سایبان خود را مثل (کپری ) در بوستان خراب کرده، مکان اجتماع خویش را منهدم ساخته است. یهوه، عیدها و سبت‌ها را در صهیون به فراموشی داده است. و در حدت خشم خویش پادشاهان و کاهنان را خوار نموده است.

And he hath violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden: he hath destroyed his places of the assembly: YHWH hath caused the solemn feasts and Sabbaths to be forgotten in Zion, and hath despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

۷ 7 خداوند مذبح خود را مکروه داشته و مقدس خویش را خوار نموده و دیوارهای قصرهایش رابه‌دست دشمنان تسلیم کرده است. و ایشان درخانه یهوه مثل ایام عیدها صدا می‌زنند.

YHWH hath cast off his altar, he hath abhorred his sanctuary, he hath given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they have made a noise in the house of YHWH, as in the day of a solemn feast.

۸ 8 یهوه قصد نموده است که حصارهای دخترصهیون را منهدم سازد. پس ریسمانکار کشیده، دست خود را از هلاکت باز نداشته، بلکه خندق وحصار را به ماتم درآورده است که با هم نوحه می‌کنند.

YHWH hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.

۹ 9 دروازه هایش به زمین فرو رفته است پشت بندهایش را خراب و خرد ساخته است. پادشاه و سرورانش در میان امت‌ها می‌باشند وهیچ شریعتی نیست. و انبیای او نیز رویا از جانب یهوه نمی بینند.

Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from YHWH.

۱۰ 10 مشایخ دختر صهیون بر زمین نشسته، خاموش می‌باشند، و خاک بر سر افشانده، پلاس می‌پوشند. و دوشیزگان اورشلیم سر خود رابسوی زمین می‌افکنند.

The elders of the daughter of Zion sit upon the ground, and keep silence: they have cast up dust upon their heads; they have girded themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.

۱۱ 11 چشمان من از اشکها کاهیده شد و احشایم بجوش آمده و جگرم به‌سبب خرابی دختر قوم من بر زمین ریخته شده است. چونکه اطفال وشیرخوارگان در کوچه های شهر ضعف می‌کنند.

Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

۱۲ 12 و به مادران خویش می‌گویند: گندم وشراب کجا است؟ زیرا که مثل مجروحان درکوچه های شهر بیهوش می‌گردند، و جانهای خویش را به آغوش مادران خود می‌ریزند.

They say to their mothers, Where is corn and wine? when they swooned as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out into their mothers' bosom.

۱۳ 13 برای تو چه شهادت توانم آورد و تو را به چه چیز تشبیه توانم نمود‌ای دختر اورشلیم! وچه چیز را به تو مقابله نموده، تو را‌ای دوشیزه دختر صهیون تسلی دهم! زیرا که شکستگی تومثل دریا عظیم است و کیست که تو را شفا تواندداد.

What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee?

۱۴ 14 انبیای تو رویاهای دروغ و باطل برایت دیده‌اند و گناهانت را کشف نکرده‌اند تا تو را ازاسیری برگردانند، بلکه وحی کاذب و اسباب پراکندگی برای تو دیده‌اند.

Thy prophets have seen vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered thine iniquity, to turn away thy captivity; but have seen for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

۱۵ 15 جمیع ره گذریان برتو دستک می‌زنند وسخریه نموده، سرهای خود را بر دختر اورشلیم می‌جنبانند (و می‌گویند): آیا این است شهری که آن را کمال زیبایی و ابتهاج تمام زمین می‌خواندند؟

All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

۱۶ 16 جمیع دشمنانت، دهان خود را بر توگشوده استهزا می‌نمایند و دندانهای خود را به هم افشرده، می‌گویند که آن را هلاک ساختیم. البته این‌روزی است که انتظار آن را می‌کشیدیم، حال آن را پیدا نموده و مشاهده کرده‌ایم.

All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.

۱۷ 17 یهوه آنچه را که قصد نموده است بجاآورده و کلامی را که از ایام قدیم فرموده بود به انجام رسانیده، آن را هلاک کرده و شفقت ننموده است. و دشمنت را برتو مسرور گردانیده، شاخ خصمانت را برافراشته است.

YHWH hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the horn of thine adversaries.

۱۸ 18 دل ایشان نزد خداوند فریاد برآورده، (می گوید): ای دیوار دختر صهیون، شبانه‌روزمثل رود اشک بریز و خود را آرامی مده ومردمک چشمت راحت نبیند!

Their heart cried unto YHWH, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.

۱۹ 19 شبانگاه در ابتدای پاسها برخاسته، فریادبرآور و دل خود را مثل آب پیش روی خداوندبریز. و دستهای خود را به‌خاطر جان اطفالت که از گرسنگی به‌سر هرکوچه بیهوش می‌گردند نزد او برافراز،

Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of YHWH: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

۲۰ 20 (وبگو): ای یهوه بنگر و ملاحظه فرما که چنین عمل را به چه کس نموده‌ای آیا می‌شود که زنان میوه رحم خود و اطفالی را که به ناز پرورده بودند بخورند؟ و آیا می‌شود که کاهنان و انبیا درمقدس خداوند کشته شوند؟

Behold, O YHWH, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, and children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of YHWH?

۲۱ 21 جوانان و پیران در کوچه‌ها بر زمین می‌خوابند. دوشیزگان و جوانان من به شمشیرافتاده‌اند. در روز غضب خود ایشان را به قتل رسانیده، کشتی و شفقت ننمودی.

The young and the old lie on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed, and not pitied.

۲۲ 22 ترسهای مرا از هرطرف مثل روز عیدخواندی و کسی نبود که در روز غضب یهوه نجات یابد یا باقی ماند. و آنانی را که به ناز پرورده و تربیت نموده بودم دشمن من ایشان را تلف نموده است.

Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of YHWH 's anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled and brought up hath mine enemy consumed.
