داوران 18

۱ 1 و در آن ایام در اسرائیل پادشاهی نبود، و در آن روزها سبط دان، ملکی برای سکونت خود طلب می‌کردند، زیرا تا در آن روزملک ایشان در میان اسباط اسرائیل به ایشان نرسیده بود.

In those dayes there was no King in Israel, and at the same time the tribe of Dan sought them an inheritance to dwell in: for vnto that time all their inheritance had not fallen vnto them among the tribes of Israel.

۲ 2 و پسران دان از قبیله خویش پنج نفر از جماعت خود که مردان جنگی بودند ازصرعه و اشتاول فرستادند تا زمین را جاسوسی وتفحص نمایند، و به ایشان گفتند: «بروید و زمین را تفحص کنید.» پس ایشان به کوهستان افرایم به خانه میخا آمده، در آنجا منزل گرفتند.

Therefore the children of Dan sent of their familie, fiue men out of their coastes, euen men expert in warre, out of Zorah and Eshtaol, to viewe the lande and search it out, and saide vnto them, Goe, and search out the lande. Then they came to mount Ephraim to the house of Michah and lodged there.

۳ 3 و چون ایشان نزد خانه میخا رسیدند، آواز جوان لاوی راشناختند و به آنجا برگشته، او را گفتند: «کیست که تو را به اینجا آورده است و در این مکان چه می‌کنی و در اینجا چه داری؟»

When they were in the house of Michah, they knewe the voyce of the yong man the Leuite: and being turned in thither, they saide vnto him, Who brought thee hither? or what makest thou in this place? and what hast thou to doe here?

۴ 4 او به ایشان گفت: «میخا با من چنین و چنان رفتار نموده است، و مرااجیر گرفته، کاهن او شده‌ام.»

And he answered them, Thus and thus dealeth Michah with me, and hath hired me, and I am his Priest.

۵ 5 وی را گفتند: «ازخدا سوال کن تا بدانیم آیا راهی که در آن می‌رویم خیر خواهد بود.»

Againe they said vnto him, Aske counsell nowe of God, that we may knowe whether the way which we goe, shalbe prosperous.

۶ 6 کاهن به ایشان گفت: «به سلامتی بروید. راهی که شما می‌روید منظورخداوند است.»

And the Priest sayde vnto them, Goe in peace: for the Lord guideth your way which ye goe.

۷ 7 پس آن پنج مرد روانه شده، به لایش رسیدند. و خلقی را که در آن بودند، دیدند که درامنیت و به رسم صیدونیان در اطمینان و امنیت ساکن بودند. و در آن زمین صاحب اقتداری نبودکه اذیت رساند و از صیدونیان دور بوده، با کسی کار نداشتند.

Then the fiue men departed and came to Laish, and sawe the people that were therein, which dwelt carelesse, after the maner of the Zidonians, quiet and sure, because no man made any trouble in the lande, or vsurped any dominion: also they were farre from the Zidonians, and had no businesse with other men.

۸ 8 پس نزد برادران خود به صرعه واشتاول آمدند. و برادران ایشان به ایشان گفتند: «چه خبر دارید؟»

So they came againe vnto their brethren to Zorah and Eshtaol: and their brethren saide vnto them, What haue ye done?

۹ 9 گفتند: «برخیزیم و بر ایشان هجوم آوریم، زیرا که زمین را دیده‌ایم که اینک بسیار خوب است، و شما خاموش هستید، پس کاهلی مورزید بلکه رفته، داخل شوید و زمین رادر تصرف آورید.

And they answered, Arise, that we may goe vp against them: for we haue seene the lande, and surely it is very good, and doe ye sit stil? be not slouthfull to goe and enter to possesse the lande:

۱۰ 10 و چون داخل شوید به قوم مطمئن خواهید رسید، و زمین بسیار وسیع است، و خدا آن را به‌دست شما داده است، و آن جایی است که از هرچه در جهان است، باقی ندارد.»

(If ye will goe, ye shall come vnto a carelesse people, and the countrey is large) for God hath giuen it into your hande. It is a place which doeth lacke nothing that is in the worlde.

۱۱ 11 پس ششصد نفر از قبیله دان مسلح شده، به آلات جنگ از آنجا یعنی از صرعه و اشتاول روانه شدند.

Then there departed thence of the familie of the Danites, from Zorah and from Eshtaol, sixe hundreth men appointed with instruments of warre.

۱۲ 12 و برآمده، در قریه یعاریم دریهودا اردو زدند. لهذا تا امروز آن مکان را محنه دان می‌خوانند و اینک در پشت قریه یعاریم است.

And they went vp, and pitched in Kiriath-iearim in Iudah: wherefore they called that place, Mahaneh-Dan vnto this day: and it is behinde Kiriath-iearim.

۱۳ 13 و از آنجا به کوهستان افرایم گذشته، به خانه میخا رسیدند.

And they went thence vnto mount Ephraim, and came to the house of Michah.

۱۴ 14 و آن پنج نفر که برای جاسوسی زمین لایش رفته بودند، برادران خود را خطاب کرده، گفتند: «آیا می‌دانید که در این خانه‌ها ایفود و ترافیم وتمثال تراشیده و تمثال ریخته شده‌ای هست؟ پس الان فکر کنید که چه باید بکنید.»

Then answered the fiue men, that went to spie out the countrey of Laish, and said vnto their brethren, Knowe ye not, that there is in these houses an Ephod, and Teraphim, and a grauen and a molten image? Nowe therefore consider what ye haue to doe.

۱۵ 15 پس به آنسو برگشته، به خانه جوان لاوی، یعنی به خانه میخا آمده، سلامتی او را پرسیدند.

And they turned thitherward and came to the house of the yong man the Leuite, euen vnto the house of Michah, and saluted him peaceably.

۱۶ 16 و آن ششصد مرد مسلح شده، به آلات جنگ که ازپسران دان بودند، در دهنه دروازه ایستاده بودند.

And the six hundreth men appointed with their weapons of warre, which were of the children of Dan, stoode by the entring of the gate.

۱۷ 17 و آن پنج نفر که برای جاسوسی زمین رفته بودند برآمده، به آنجا داخل شدند، و تمثال تراشیده و ایفود و ترافیم و تمثال ریخته شده راگرفتند، و کاهن با آن ششصد مرد مسلح شده، به آلات جنگ به دهنه دروازه ایستاده بود.

Then the fiue men that went to spie out the land, went in thither, and tooke the grauen image and the Ephod, and the Teraphim, and the molten image: and the Priest stoode in the entring of the gate with the sixe hundreth men, that were appointed with weapons of warre,

۱۸ 18 وچون آنها به خانه میخا داخل شده، تمثال تراشیده و ایفود و ترافیم و تمثال ریخته شده راگرفتند، کاهن به ایشان گفت: «چه می‌کنید؟»

And the other went into Michahs house and fet the grauen image, the Ephod, and the Teraphim, and the molten image. Then saide the Priest vnto them, What doe ye?

۱۹ 19 ایشان به وی گفتند: «خاموش شده، دست را بر دهانت بگذار و همراه ما آمده، برای ما پدر وکاهن باش. کدام برایت بهتر است که کاهن خانه یک شخص باشی یا کاهن سبطی و قبیله‌ای دراسرائیل شوی؟»

And they answered him, Holde thy peace: lay thine hande vpon thy mouth, and come with vs to be our father and Priest. Whether is it better that thou shouldest be a Priest vnto ye house of one man, or that thou shouldest be a Priest vnto a tribe and to a familie in Israel?

۲۰ 20 پس دل کاهن شاد گشت. وایفود و ترافیم و تمثال تراشیده را گرفته، در میان قوم داخل شد.

And the Priestes heart was glad, and hee tooke the Ephod and the Teraphim, and the grauen image, and went among the people.

۲۱ 21 پس متوجه شده، روانه شدند، و اطفال ومواشی و اسباب را پیش روی خود قرار دادند.

And they turned and departed, and put the children, and the cattell, and the substance before them.

۲۲ 22 و چون ایشان از خانه میخا دور شدند، مردانی که در خانه های اطراف خانه میخا بودند جمع شده، بنی دان را تعاقب نمودند.

When they were farre off from the house of Michah, the men that were in the houses neere to Michahs house, gathered together, and pursued after the children of Dan,

۲۳ 23 و بنی دان راصدا زدند، و ایشان رو برگردانیده، به میخا گفتند: «تو را چه شده است که با این جمعیت آمده‌ای؟»

And cryed vnto the children of Dan: who turned their faces, and said vnto Michah, What ayleth thee, that thou makest an outcrie?

۲۴ 24 او گفت: «خدایان مرا که ساختم با کاهن گرفته، رفته‌اید؛ و مرا دیگر‌چه چیز باقی است؟ پس چگونه به من می‌گویید که تو را چه شده است؟»

And hee saide, Yee haue taken away my gods, which I made, and the Priest, and go your wayes: and what haue I more? howe then say ye vnto me, what ayleth thee?

۲۵ 25 و پسران دان او را گفتند: «آواز تو در میان ماشنیده نشود مبادا مردان تند خو بر شما هجوم آورند، و جان خود را با جانهای اهل خانه ات هلاک سازی.»

And the children of Dan sayde vnto him, Let not thy voyce be heard among vs, least angrie fellowes runne vpon thee, and thou lose thy life with the liues of thine housholde.

۲۶ 26 و بنی دان راه خود را پیش گرفتند. و چون میخا دید که ایشان از او قوی ترند، رو گردانیده، به خانه خود برگشت.

So the children of Dan went their wayes: and when Michah saw that they were too strong for him, hee turned, and went backe vnto his house.

۲۷ 27 و ایشان آنچه میخا ساخته بود و کاهنی راکه داشت برداشته، به لایش بر قومی که آرام ومطمئن بودند، برآمدند، و ایشان را به دم شمشیرکشته، شهر را به آتش سوزانیدند.

And they tooke the things which Michah had made, and the Priest which he had, and came vnto Laish, vnto a quiet people and without mistrust, and smote them with the edge of the sworde, and burnt the citie with fire:

۲۸ 28 و رهاننده‌ای نبود زیرا که از صیدون دور بود و ایشان را با کسی معامله‌ای نبود و آن شهر در وادی‌ای که نزدبیت رحوب است، واقع بود. پس شهر را بنا کرده، در آن ساکن شدند.

And there was none to helpe, because Laish was farre from Zidon, and they had no businesse with other men: also it was in the valley that lyeth by Beth-rehob. After, they built the citie, and dwelt therein,

۲۹ 29 و شهر را به اسم پدر خود، دان که برای اسرائیل زاییده شد، دان نامیدند. امااسم شهر قبل از آن لایش بود.

And called the name of the citie Dan, after the name of Dan their father which was borne vnto Israel: howbeit the name of the city was Laish at the beginning.

۳۰ 30 و بنی دان آن تمثال تراشیده را برای خود نصب کردند ویهوناتان بن جرشوم بن موسی و پسرانش تا روزاسیر شدن اهل زمین، کهنه بنی دان می‌بودند.

Then the children of Dan set them vp the grauen image: and Ionathan the sonne of Gershom, the sonne of Manasseh and his sonnes were the Priestes in the tribe of the Danites vntil the day of the captiuitie of the lande.

۳۱ 31 پس تمثال تراشیده میخا را که ساخته بودتمامی روزهایی که خانه خدا در شیلوه بود، برای خود نصب نمودند.

So they set them vp the grauen image, which Michah had made, all the while the house of God was in Shiloh.
