یوشع 9
| و واقع شد که تمامی ملوک حتیان و اموریان و کنعانیان و فرزیان و حویان و یبوسیان، که به آن طرف اردن در کوه و هامون و درتمامی کناره دریای بزرگ تا مقابل لبنان بودند، چون این را شنیدند، | ۱ 1 |
And it came to pass, when all the kings which were on this side Jordan, in the hills, and in the valleys, and in all the coasts of the great sea opposite to Lebanon, the Hittite, and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard thereof;
| با هم جمع شدند، تا بایوشع و اسرائیل متفق جنگ کنند. | ۲ 2 |
That they gathered themselves together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.
| و اما ساکنان جبعون چون آنچه را که یوشع به اریحا و عای کرده بود شنیدند، | ۳ 3 |
And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done unto Jericho and to Ai,
| ایشان نیز به حیله رفتار نمودند و روانه شده، خویشتن را مثل ایلچیان ظاهر کرده، جوالهای کهنه بر الاغهای خود و مشکهای شراب که کهنه و پاره و بسته شده بود، گرفتند. | ۴ 4 |
They did work cunningly, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks upon their asses, and wine bottles, old, and rent, and bound up;
| و بر پایهای خود کفشهای مندرس و پینه زده و بر بدن خود رخت کهنه وتمامی نان توشه ایشان خشک و کفه زده بود. | ۵ 5 |
And old shoes and clouted upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry and mouldy.
| ونزد یوشع به اردو در جلجال آمده، به او و به مردان اسرائیل گفتند که «از زمین دور آمده‌ایم پس الان با ما عهد ببندید.» | ۶ 6 |
And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said unto him, and to the men of Israel, We be come from a far country: now therefore make all of you a league with us.
| و مردان اسرائیل به حویان گفتند: «شاید در میان ما ساکن باشید. پس چگونه با شما عهد ببندیم؟» | ۷ 7 |
And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Possibly all of you dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?
| ایشان به یوشع گفتند: «ما بندگان تو هستیم.» یوشع به ایشان گفت که «شما کیانید و از کجامی آیید؟» | ۸ 8 |
And they said unto Joshua, We are your servants. And Joshua said unto them, Who are all of you? and from whence come all of you?
| به وی گفتند: «بندگانت به‌سبب اسم یهوه خدای تو از زمین بسیار دور آمده‌ایم زیرا که آوازه او و هر‌چه را که در مصر کرد، شنیدیم. | ۹ 9 |
And they said unto him, From a very far country your servants are come because of the name of the LORD your God: for we have heard the fame of him, and all that he did in Egypt,
| ونیز آنچه را به دو ملک اموریان که به آن طرف اردن بودند یعنی به سیهون، ملک حشبون، و عوج، ملک باشان، که در عشتاروت بود، کرد. | ۱۰ 10 |
And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth.
| پس مشایخ ما و تمامی ساکنان زمین ما به ما گفتند که توشه‌ای به جهت راه به‌دست خود بگیرید و به استقبال ایشان رفته، ایشان را بگویید که ما بندگان شما هستیم. پس الان با ما عهد ببندید. | ۱۱ 11 |
Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make all of you a league with us.
| این نان ما در روزی که روانه شدیم تا نزد شما بیاییم از خانه های خود آن را برای توشه راه گرم گرفتیم، والان اینک خشک و کفه زده شده است. | ۱۲ 12 |
This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we came forth to go unto you; but now, behold, it is dry, and it is mouldy:
| و این مشکهای شراب که پر کردیم تازه بود واینک پاره شده، و این رخت و کفشهای ما از کثرت طول راه کهنه شده است.» | ۱۳ 13 |
And these bottles of wine, which we filled, were new; and, behold, they be rent: and these our garments and our shoes are become old by reason of the very long journey.
| آنگاه آن مردمان از توشه ایشان گرفتند و از دهان خداوند مشورت نکردند. | ۱۴ 14 |
And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.
| و یوشع با ایشان صلح کرده، عهد بست که ایشان را زنده نگهدارد و روسای جماعت باایشان قسم خوردند. | ۱۵ 15 |
And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation swore unto them.
| اما بعد از انقضای سه روز که با ایشان عهدبسته بودند، شنیدند که آنها نزدیک ایشانند و درمیان ایشان ساکنند. | ۱۶ 16 |
And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them.
| پس بنی‌اسرائیل کوچ کرده، در روز سوم به شهرهای ایشان رسیدند وشهرهای ایشان، جبعون و کفیره و بئیروت و قریه یعاریم، بود. | ۱۷ 17 |
And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjathjearim.
| و بنی‌اسرائیل ایشان را نکشتندزیرا روسای جماعت برای ایشان به یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، قسم خورده بودند، و تمامی جماعت برروسا همهمه کردند. | ۱۸ 18 |
And the children of Israel stroke them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.
| و جمیع روسا به تمامی جماعت گفتند که برای ایشان به یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، قسم خوردیم پس الان نمی توانیم به ایشان ضرر برسانیم. | ۱۹ 19 |
But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.
| این را به ایشان خواهیم کرد و ایشان را زنده نگاه خواهیم داشت مبادا به‌سبب قسمی که برای ایشان خوردیم، غضب بر مابشود. | ۲۰ 20 |
This we will do to them; we will even let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath which we swore unto them.
| و روسا به ایشان گفتند: «بگذارید که زنده بمانند.» پس برای تمامی جماعت هیزم شکنان و سقایان آب شدند، چنانکه روسا به ایشان گفته بودند. | ۲۱ 21 |
And the princes said unto them, Let them live; but let them be hewers of wood and drawers of water unto all the congregation; as the princes had promised them.
| و یوشع ایشان را خواند و بدیشان خطاب کرده، گفت: «چرا ما را فریب دادید و گفتید که مااز شما بسیار دور هستیم و حال آنکه در میان ما ساکنید. | ۲۲ 22 |
And Joshua called for them, and he spoke unto them, saying, Wherefore have all of you misled us, saying, We are very far from you; when all of you dwell among us?
| پس حال شما ملعونید و از شماغلامان و هیزم شکنان و سقایان آب همیشه برای خانه خدای ما خواهند بود.» | ۲۳ 23 |
Now therefore all of you are cursed, and there shall none of you be freed from being bondmen, and hewers of wood and drawers of water for the house of my God.
| ایشان در جواب یوشع گفتند: «زیرا که بندگان تو را یقین خبر دادندکه یهوه، خدای تو، بنده خود موسی را امر کرده بود که تمامی این زمین را به شما بدهد، و همه ساکنان زمین را از پیش روی شما هلاک کنند، وبرای جانهای خود به‌سبب شما بسیار ترسیدیم، پس این کار را کردیم. | ۲۴ 24 |
And they answered Joshua, and said, Because it was certainly told your servants, how that the LORD your God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you, therefore we were sore afraid of our lives because of you, and have done this thing.
| و الان، اینک ما در دست تو هستیم؛ به هر طوری که در نظر تو نیکو وصواب است که به ما رفتار نمایی، عمل نما.» | ۲۵ 25 |
And now, behold, we are in your hand: as it seems good and right unto you to do unto us, do.
| پس او با ایشان به همین طور عمل نموده، ایشان را از دست بنی‌اسرائیل رهایی داد که ایشان را نکشتند. | ۲۶ 26 |
And so did he unto them, and delivered them out of the hand of the children of Israel, that they slew them not.
| و یوشع در آن روز ایشان را مقررکرد تا هیزم شکنان و سقایان آب برای جماعت وبرای مذبح خداوند باشند، در مقامی که او اختیارکند و تا به امروز چنین هستند. | ۲۷ 27 |
And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even unto this day, in the place which he should choose.
