یونس 3
| پس کلام خداوند بار دوم بر یونس نازل شده، گفت: | ۱ 1 |
And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
| «برخیز و به نینوا شهر بزرگ برو و آن وعظ را که من به تو خواهم گفت به ایشان ندا کن.» | ۲ 2 |
Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid you.
| آنگاه یونس برخاسته، برحسب فرمان خداوند به نینوا رفت و نینوا شهر بزرگ بود که مسافت سه روز داشت. | ۳ 3 |
So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.
| و یونس به مسافت یک روز داخل شهر شده، به ندا کردن شروع نمود وگفت بعد از چهل روز نینوا سرنگون خواهد شد. | ۴ 4 |
And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
| و مردمان نینوا به خدا ایمان آوردند و روزه راندا کرده، از بزرگ تا کوچک پلاس پوشیدند. | ۵ 5 |
So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
| و چون پادشاه نینوا از این امر اطلاع یافت، ازکرسی خود برخاسته، ردای خود را از برکند وپلاس پوشیده، بر خاکستر نشست. | ۶ 6 |
For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
| و پادشاه واکابرش فرمان دادند تا در نینوا ندا در‌دادند وامرفرموده، گفتند که «مردمان و بهایم و گاوان وگوسفندان چیزی نخورند و نچرند و آب ننوشند. | ۷ 7 |
And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
| و مردمان و بهایم به پلاس پوشیده شوند و نزدخدا بشدت استغاثه نمایند و هرکس از راه بدخود و از ظلمی که در دست او است بازگشت نماید. | ۸ 8 |
But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
| کیست بداند که شاید خدا برگشته، پشیمان شود و از حدت خشم خود رجوع نمایدتا هلاک نشویم.» | ۹ 9 |
Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
| پس چون خدا اعمال ایشان را دید که از راه زشت خود بازگشت نمودند، آنگاه خدا از بلایی که گفته بود که به ایشان برساند پشیمان گردید وآن را بعمل نیاورد. | ۱۰ 10 |
And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.
