یوئیل 1

۱ 1 نازل شد.

The word of the LORD that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.

۲ 2 ‌ای مشایخ این را بشنوید! و‌ای جمیع ساکنان زمین این را گوش گیرید! آیا مثل این درایام شما یا در ایام پدران شما واقع شده است؟

Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?

۳ 3 شما از این به پسران خود و پسران شما به پسران خویش و پسران ایشان به طبقه بعد خبر بدهید.

Tell ye your children of it, and [let] your children [tell] their children, and their children another generation.

۴ 4 آنچه از سن باقی ماند، ملخ می‌خورد و آنچه ازملخ باقی ماند، لنبه می‌خورد و آنچه از لنبه باقی ماند، سوس می‌خورد.

That which the palmer-worm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the canker-worm eaten; and that which the canker-worm hath left hath the caterpillar eaten.

۵ 5 ‌ای مستان بیدار شده، گریه کنید و‌ای همه میگساران به جهت عصیرانگور ولوله نمایید زیرا که از دهان شما منقطع شده است.

Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

۶ 6 زیرا که امتی قوی و بیشمار به زمین من هجوم می‌آورند. دندانهای ایشان دندانهای شیر است و اضراس ایشان اضراس هژبر است.

For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth [are] the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.

۷ 7 تاکستان مرا ویران و انجیرهای مرا خراب کرده و پوست آنها را بالکل کنده، بیرون انداخته‌اند وشاخه های آنها سفید شده است.

He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig-tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast [it] away; its branches are made white.

۸ 8 مثل دختری که برای شوهر جوانی خود پلاس می‌پوشد، ماتم بگیر.

Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.

۹ 9 هدیه آردی و هدیه ریختنی از خانه خداوند منقطع شده است. کاهنانی که خدام خداوند هستند ماتم می‌گیرند.

The meat-offering and the drink-offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD'S ministers, mourn.

۱۰ 10 صحرا خشک شده و زمین ماتم می‌گیرد زیرا گندم تلف شده وشیره خشک گردیده و روغن ضایع شده است.

The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted; the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.

۱۱ 11 ‌ای فلاحان خجل شوید و‌ای باغبانان ولوله نمایید به جهت گندم و جو زیرا محصول زمین تلف شده است.

Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vine-dressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field hath perished.

۱۲ 12 موها خشک و انجیرها ضایع شده؛ انار و خرما و سیب و همه درختان صحراخشک گردیده، زیرا خوشی از بنی آدم رفع شده است.

The vine is dried up, and the fig-tree languisheth; the pomegranate-tree, the palm-tree also, and the apple-tree, [even] all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.

۱۳ 13 ‌ای کاهنان پلاس در بر کرده، نوحه گری نمایید و‌ای خادمان مذبح ولوله کنید و‌ای خادمان خدای من داخل شده، در پلاس شب رابسر برید، زیرا که هدیه آردی و هدیه ریختنی ازخانه خدای شما باز داشته شده است.

Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat-offering and the drink-offering is withheld from the house of your God.

۱۴ 14 روزه راتعیین نمایید و محفل مقدس را ندا کنید! مشایخ وتمامی ساکنان زمین را به خانه یهوه خدای خودجمع نموده، نزد خداوند تضرع نمایید.

Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders [and] all the inhabitants of the land [into] the house of the LORD your God, and cry to the LORD,

۱۵ 15 وای برآن روز زیرا روز خداوند نزدیک است و مثل هلاکتی از قادر مطلق می‌آید.

Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD [is] at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

۱۶ 16 آیا ماکولات درنظر ما منقطع نشد و سرور و شادمانی از خانه خدای ما.

Is not the food cut off before our eyes, [and] joy and gladness from the house of our God?

۱۷ 17 دانه‌ها زیر کلوخها پوسید. مخزنهاویران و انبارها خراب شد زیرا گندم تلف گردید.

The seed hath perished under their clods, the granaries are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.

۱۸ 18 بهایم چه قدر ناله می‌کنند و رمه های گاوان شوریده احوالند، چونکه مرتعی ندارند وگله های گوسفند نیز تلف شده‌اند.

How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.

۱۹ 19 ‌ای خداوندنزد تو تضرع می‌نمایم زیرا که آتش مرتع های صحرا را سوزانیده و شعله همه درختان صحرا را افروخته است.

O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.

۲۰ 20 بهایم صحرا بسوی تو صیحه می‌زنند زیرا که جویهای آب خشک شده و آتش مرتعهای صحرا را سوزانیده است.

The beasts of the field cry also to thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
