ایّوب 6

۱ 1 و ایوب جواب داده، گفت:

Then Job answered,

۲ 2 «کاش که غصه من سنجیده شود. و مشقت مرا درمیزان با آن بگذارند.

"Oh that my anguish were weighed, and all my calamity laid in the balances.

۳ 3 زیرا که الان از ریگ دریاسنگینتر است. از این سبب سخنان من بیهوده می‌باشد.

For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas, therefore have my words been rash.

۴ 4 زیرا تیرهای قادرمطلق در اندرون من است. و روح من زهر آنها را می‌آشامد، و ترسهای خدا بر من صف آرایی می‌کند.

For the arrows of Shaddai are within me. My spirit drinks up their poison. The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

۵ 5 آیا گورخر باداشتن علف عرعر می‌کند؟ و یا گاو بر آذوقه خودبانگ می‌زند؟

Does the wild donkey bray when he has grass? Or does the ox low over his fodder?

۶ 6 آیا چیز بی‌مزه، بی‌نمک خورده می‌شود؟ و یا در سفیده تخم، طعم می‌باشد؟

Can that which has no flavor be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?

۷ 7 جان من از لمس نمودن آنها کراهت دارد. آنهابرای من مثل خوراک، زشت است.

My soul refuses to touch them. They are as loathsome food to me.

۸ 8 «کاش که مسالت من برآورده شود، و خداآرزوی مرا به من بدهد!

"Oh that I might have my request, that God would grant the thing that I long for,

۹ 9 و خدا راضی شود که مرا خرد کند، و دست خود را بلند کرده، مرامنقطع سازد!

even that it would please God to crush me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off.

۱۰ 10 آنگاه معهذا مرا تسلی می‌شد ودر عذاب الیم شاد می‌شدم، چونکه کلمات حضرت قدوس را انکار ننمودم.

Be it still my consolation, yes, let me exult in pain that doesn't spare, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One.

۱۱ 11 من چه قوت دارم که انتظار بکشم و عاقبت من چیست که صبرنمایم؟

What is my strength, that I should wait? What is my end, that I should be patient?

۱۲ 12 آیا قوت من قوت سنگها است؟ و یاگوشت من برنج است؟

Is my strength the strength of stones? Or is my flesh of bronze?

۱۳ 13 آیا بالکل بی‌اعانت نیستم؟ و مساعدت از من مطرود نشده است؟

Isn't it that I have no help in me, That wisdom is driven quite from me?

۱۴ 14 حق شکسته دل از دوستش ترحم است، اگر‌چه هم ترس قادر مطلق را ترک نماید.

"To the despairing, kindness should be shown from his friend; even to him who forsakes the fear of Shaddai.

۱۵ 15 اما برادران من مثل نهرها مرا فریب دادند، مثل رودخانه وادیها که می‌گذرند.

My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away;

۱۶ 16 که از یخ سیاه فام می‌باشند، و برف در آنها مخفی است.

Which are black by reason of the ice, in which the snow hides itself.

۱۷ 17 وقتی که آب از آنها می‌رود، نابود می‌شوند. و چون گرماشود، از جای خود ناپدید می‌گردند.

In the dry season, they vanish. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.

۱۸ 18 کاروانیان از راه خود منحرف می‌شوند، و در بیابان داخل شده، هلاک می‌گردند.

The caravans that travel beside them turn aside. They go up into the waste, and perish.

۱۹ 19 کاروانیان تیما به آنهانگران بودند. قافله های سبا امید آن را داشتند.

The caravans of Tema looked. The companies of Sheba waited for them.

۲۰ 20 از امید خود خجل گردیدند. به آنجا رسیدند وشرمنده گشتند.

They were distressed because they were confident. They came there, and were confounded.

۲۱ 21 زیرا که الان شما مثل آنهاشده‌اید، مصیبتی دیدید و ترسان گشتید.

For now you are nothing. You see a terror, and are afraid.

۲۲ 22 آیاگفتم که چیزی به من ببخشید؟ یا ارمغانی از اموال خود به من بدهید؟

Did I say, 'Give to me?' or, 'Offer a present for me from your substance?'

۲۳ 23 یا مرا از دست دشمن رهاکنید؟ و مرا از دست ظالمان فدیه دهید؟

or, 'Deliver me from the adversary's hand?' or, 'Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?'

۲۴ 24 «مرا تعلیم دهید و من خاموش خواهم شد، و مرا بفهمانید که در چه چیز خطا کردم.

"Teach me, and I will hold my peace. Cause me to understand wherein I have erred.

۲۵ 25 سخنان راستی چقدر زورآور است! اما تنبیه شما چه نتیجه می‌بخشد؟

How forcible are words of uprightness. But your reproof, what does it reprove?

۲۶ 26 آیا گمان می‌برید که سخنان را تنبیه می‌نمایید و سخنان مایوس را که مثل باد است؟

Do you intend to reprove words, seeing that the speeches of one who is desperate are as wind?

۲۷ 27 یقین برای یتیم قرعه می‌اندازیدو دوست خود را مال تجارت می‌شمارید.

Yes, you would even cast lots for the fatherless, and make merchandise of your friend.

۲۸ 28 پس الان التفات کرده، بر من توجه نمایید، و روبه‌روی شما دروغ نخواهم گفت.

Now therefore be pleased to look at me, for surely I shall not lie to your face.

۲۹ 29 برگردید و بی‌انصافی نباشد، و باز برگردید زیرا عدالت من قایم است.

Please return. Let there be no injustice. Yes, return again. My cause is righteous.

۳۰ 30 آیا در زبان من بی‌انصافی می‌باشد؟ و آیا کام من چیزهای فاسد را تمیز نمی دهد؟

Is there injustice on my tongue? Can't my taste discern mischievous things?
