ایّوب 38
| و خداوند ایوب را از میان گردبادخطاب کرده، گفت: | ۱ 1 |
Then Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
| «کیست که مشورت را از سخنان بی‌علم تاریک می‌سازد؟ | ۲ 2 |
Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge?
| الان کمر خود را مثل مرد ببند، زیرا که از توسوال می‌نمایم پس مرا اعلام نما. | ۳ 3 |
Gird up now thy loins like a man; For I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
| وقتی که زمین را بنیاد نهادم کجا بودی؟ بیان کن اگر فهم داری. | ۴ 4 |
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
| کیست که آن را پیمایش نمود؟ اگر می‌دانی! وکیست که ریسمانکار را بر آن کشید؟ | ۵ 5 |
Who determined the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who stretched the line upon it?
| پایه هایش بر چه چیز گذاشته شد؟ و کیست که سنگ زاویه‌اش را نهاد، | ۶ 6 |
Whereupon were the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner-stone thereof,
| هنگامی که ستارگان صبح باهم ترنم نمودند، و جمیع پسران خدا آوازشادمانی دادند؟ | ۷ 7 |
When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
| و کیست که دریا را به درهامسدود ساخت، وقتی که به در جست و از رحم بیرون آمد؟ | ۸ 8 |
Or [who] shut up the sea with doors, When it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb;
| وقتی که ابرها را لباس آن گردانیدم و تاریکی غلیظ را قنداقه آن ساختم. | ۹ 9 |
When I made clouds the garment thereof, And thick darkness a swaddling-band for it,
| و حدی برای آن قرار دادم و پشت بندها و درها تعیین نمودم. | ۱۰ 10 |
And marked out for it my bound, And set bars and doors,
| و گفتم تا به اینجا بیا و تجاوز منما. و دراینجا امواج سرکش تو بازداشته شود. | ۱۱ 11 |
And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further; And here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
| «آیا تو از ابتدای عمر خود صبح را فرمان دادی، و فجر را به موضعش عارف گردانیدی؟ | ۱۲ 12 |
Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days [began], [And] caused the dayspring to know its place;
| تا کرانه های زمین را فرو‌گیرد و شریران از آن افشانده شوند. | ۱۳ 13 |
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?
| مثل گل زیر خاتم مبدل می‌گردد. و همه‌چیز مثل لباس صورت می‌پذیرد. | ۱۴ 14 |
It is changed as clay under the seal; And [all things] stand forth as a garment:
| و نور شریران از ایشان گرفته می‌شود، و بازوی بلند شکسته می‌گردد. | ۱۵ 15 |
And from the wicked their light is withholden, And the high arm is broken.
| آیا به چشمه های دریا داخل شده، یا به عمقهای لجه رفته‌ای؟ | ۱۶ 16 |
Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? Or hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep?
| آیا درهای موت برای تو باز شده است؟ یا درهای سایه موت را دیده‌ای؟ | ۱۷ 17 |
Have the gates of death been revealed unto thee? Or hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
| آیاپهنای زمین را ادراک کرده‌ای؟ خبر بده اگر این همه را می‌دانی. | ۱۸ 18 |
Hast thou comprehended the earth in its breadth? Declare, if thou knowest it all.
| راه مسکن نور کدام است، ومکان ظلمت کجا می‌باشد، | ۱۹ 19 |
Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
| تا آن را به حدودش برسانی، و راههای خانه او را درک نمایی؟ | ۲۰ 20 |
That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, And that thou shouldest discern the paths to the house thereof?
| البته می‌دانی، چونکه در آنوقت مولودشدی، و عدد روزهایت بسیار است! | ۲۱ 21 |
[Doubtless], thou knowest, for thou wast then born, And the number of thy days is great!
| «آیا به مخزن های برف داخل شده، و خزینه های تگرگ را مشاهده نموده‌ای، | ۲۲ 22 |
Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow, Or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
| که آنهارا به جهت وقت تنگی نگاه داشتم، به جهت روزمقاتله و جنگ؟ | ۲۳ 23 |
Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, Against the day of battle and war?
| به چه طریق روشنایی تقسیم می‌شود، و باد شرقی بر روی زمین منتشرمی گردد؟ | ۲۴ 24 |
By what way is the light parted, Or the east wind scattered upon the earth?
| کیست که رودخانه‌ای برای سیل کند، یا طریقی به جهت صاعقه‌ها ساخت. | ۲۵ 25 |
Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, Or the way for the lightning of the thunder;
| تا برزمینی که کسی در آن نیست ببارد و بر بیابانی که در آن آدمی نباشد، | ۲۶ 26 |
To cause it to rain on a land where no man is; On the wilderness, wherein there is no man;
| تا (زمین ) ویران و بایر راسیراب کند، و علفهای تازه را از آن برویاند؟ | ۲۷ 27 |
To satisfy the waste and desolate [ground], And to cause the tender grass to spring forth?
| آیا باران را پدری هست؟ یا کیست که قطرات شبنم را تولید نمود؟ | ۲۸ 28 |
Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
| از رحم کیست که یخ بیرون آمد؟ و ژاله آسمان را کیست که تولیدنمود؟ | ۲۹ 29 |
Out of whose womb came the ice? And the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
| آبها مثل سنگ منجمد می‌شود، وسطح لجه یخ می‌بندد. | ۳۰ 30 |
The waters hide themselves [and become] like stone, And the face of the deep is frozen.
| آیا عقد ثریا رامی بندی؟ یا بندهای جبار را می‌گشایی؟ | ۳۱ 31 |
Canst thou bind the cluster of the Pleiades, Or loose the bands of Orion?
| آیابرجهای منطقه البروج را در موسم آنها بیرون می‌آوری؟ و دب اکبر را با بنات او رهبری می‌نمایی؟ | ۳۲ 32 |
Canst thou lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season? Or canst thou guide the Bear with her train?
| آیا قانون های آسمان را می‌دانی؟ یا آن را بر زمین مسلط می‌گردانی؟ | ۳۳ 33 |
Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? Canst thou establish the dominion thereof in the earth?
| آیا آوازخود را به ابرها می‌رسانی تا سیل آبها تو رابپوشاند؟ | ۳۴ 34 |
Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, That abundance of waters may cover thee?
| آیا برقها را می‌فرستی تا روانه شوند، و به تو بگویند اینک حاضریم؟ | ۳۵ 35 |
Canst thou send forth lightnings, that they may go, And say unto thee, Here we are?
| کیست که حکمت را در باطن نهاد یا فطانت را به دل بخشید؟ | ۳۶ 36 |
Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? Or who hath given understanding to the mind?
| کیست که با حکمت، ابرها رابشمارد؟ و کیست که مشکهای آسمان را بریزد؟ | ۳۷ 37 |
Who can number the clouds by wisdom? Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,
| چون غبار گل شده، جمع می‌شود و کلوخها باهم می‌چسبند. | ۳۸ 38 |
When the dust runneth into a mass, And the clods cleave fast together?
| آیا شکار را برای شیر ماده صید می‌کنی؟ و اشتهای شیر ژیان را سیرمی نمایی؟ | ۳۹ 39 |
Canst thou hunt the prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
| حینی که در ماوای خود خویشتن را جمع می‌کنند و در بیشه در کمین می‌نشینند؟ | ۴۰ 40 |
When they couch in their dens, [And] abide in the covert to lie in wait?
| کیست که غذا را برای غراب آماده می‌سازد، چون بچه هایش نزد خدا فریاد برمی آورند، و به‌سبب نبودن خوراک آواره می‌گردند؟ | ۴۱ 41 |
Who provideth for the raven his prey, When his young ones cry unto God, [And] wander for lack of food?
