ایّوب 35

۱ 1

Elihu spoke moreover, and said,

۲ 2 «آیا این را انصاف می‌شماری که گفتی من از خدا عادل تر هستم؟

Thinkest thou this to be right, [that] thou saidst, My righteousness [is] more than God's?

۳ 3 زیرا گفته‌ای برای توچه فایده خواهد شد، و به چه چیز بیشتر از گناهم منفعت خواهم یافت.

For thou saidst, What advantage will it be to thee? [and], What profit shall I have, [if I be cleansed] from my sin?

۴ 4 من تو را جواب می‌گویم ورفقایت را با تو.

I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

۵ 5 به سوی آسمانها نظر کن و ببین وافلاک را ملاحظه نما که از تو بلندترند.

Look to the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds [which] are higher than thou.

۶ 6 اگر گناه کردی به او چه رسانیدی؟ و اگر تقصیرهای تو بسیار شد برای وی چه کردی؟

If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or [if] thy transgressions are multiplied, what doest thou to him?

۷ 7 اگر بی‌گناه شدی به او چه بخشیدی؟ و یا از دست تو چه چیز را گرفته است؟

If thou art righteous, what givest thou to him? or what receiveth he from thy hand?

۸ 8 شرارت تو به مردی چون تو (ضرر می‌رساند) و عدالت تو به بنی آدم (فایده می‌رساند).

Thy wickedness [may hurt] a man as thou [art]: and thy righteousness [may profit] the son of man.

۹ 9 از کثرت ظلمها فریاد برمی آورند واز دست زورآوران استغاثه می‌کنند،

By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make [the oppressed] to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.

۱۰ 10 و کسی نمی گوید که خدای آفریننده من کجا است که شبانگاه سرودها می‌بخشد

But none saith, Where [is] God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;

۱۱ 11 و ما را از بهایم زمین تعلیم می‌دهد، و از پرندگان آسمان حکمت می‌بخشد.

Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?

۱۲ 12 پس به‌سبب تکبر شریران فریادمی کنند اما او اجابت نمی نماید،

There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.

۱۳ 13 زیرا خدابطالت را نمی شنود و قادر مطلق برآن ملاحظه نمی فرماید.

Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.

۱۴ 14 هرچند می‌گویی که او رانمی بینم، لیکن دعوی در حضور وی است پس منتظر او باش.

Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, [yet] judgment [is] before him; therefore trust thou in him.

۱۵ 15 و اما الان از این سبب که درغضب خویش مطالبه نمی کند و به کثرت گناه اعتنا نمی نماید،

But now, because [it is] not [so], he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth [it] not in great extremity:

۱۶ 16 از این جهت ایوب دهان خودرا به بطالت می‌گشاید و بدون معرفت سخنان بسیار می‌گوید.»

Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
