ایّوب 19

۱ 1 پس ایوب در جواب گفت:

Then Job answered and said,

۲ 2 «تا به کی جان مرا می‌رنجانید؟ و مرا به سخنان خود فرسوده می‌سازید؟

How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?

۳ 3 این ده مرتبه است که مرا مذمت نمودید، و خجالت نمی کشید که با من سختی می‌کنید؟

These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye make yourselves strange to me.

۴ 4 و اگر فی الحقیقه خطا کرده‌ام، خطای من نزد من می‌ماند.

And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.

۵ 5 اگر فی الواقع بر من تکبر نمایید و عار مرا بر من اثبات کنید،

If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:

۶ 6 پس بدانید که خدا دعوی مرا منحرف ساخته، و به دام خود مرا احاطه نموده است.

Know now that Eloah hath overthrown me, and hath compassed me with his net.

۷ 7 اینک از ظلم، تضرع می‌نمایم و مستجاب نمی شوم و استغاثه می‌کنم و دادرسی نیست.

Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no judgment.

۸ 8 طریق مرا حصارنموده است که از آن نمی توانم گذشت و برراههای من تاریکی را گذارده است.

He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he hath set darkness in my paths.

۹ 9 جلال مرا ازمن کنده است و تاج را از سر من برداشته،

He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.

۱۰ 10 مرا ازهر طرف خراب نموده، پس هلاک شدم. و مثل درخت، ریشه امید مرا کنده است.

He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

۱۱ 11 غضب خودرا بر من افروخته، و مرا یکی از دشمنان خودشمرده است.

He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as one of his enemies.

۱۲ 12 فوجهای او با هم می‌آیند و راه خود را بر من بلند می‌کنند و به اطراف خیمه من اردو می‌زنند.

His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tabernacle.

۱۳ 13 «برادرانم را از نزد من دور کرده است وآشنایانم از من بالکل بیگانه شده‌اند.

He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are verily estranged from me.

۱۴ 14 خویشانم مرا ترک نموده و آشنایانم مرا فراموش کرده‌اند.

My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.

۱۵ 15 نزیلان خانه‌ام و کنیزانم مرا غریب می‌شمارند، و در نظر ایشان بیگانه شده‌ام.

They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.

۱۶ 16 غلام خود راصدا می‌کنم و مرا جواب نمی دهد، اگر‌چه او را به دهان خود التماس بکنم.

I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I intreated him with my mouth.

۱۷ 17 نفس من نزد زنم مکروه شده است و تضرع من نزد اولاد رحم مادرم.

My breath is strange to my wife, though I intreated for the children's sake of mine own body.

۱۸ 18 بچه های کوچک نیز مرا حقیرمی شمارند و چون برمی خیزم به ضد من حرف می‌زنند.

Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spake against me.

۱۹ 19 همه اهل مشورتم از من نفرت می‌نمایند، و کسانی را که دوست می‌داشتم از من برگشته‌اند.

All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.

۲۰ 20 استخوانم به پوست و گوشتم چسبیده است، و با پوست دندانهای خودخلاصی یافته‌ام.

My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.

۲۱ 21 بر من ترحم کنید! ترحم کنیدشما‌ای دوستانم! زیرا دست خدا مرا لمس نموده است.

Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of Eloah hath touched me.

۲۲ 22 چرا مثل خدا بر من جفا می‌کنید وازگوشت من سیر نمی شوید.

Why do ye persecute me as El, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

۲۳ 23 کاش که سخنانم الان نوشته می‌شد! کاش که در کتابی ثبت می‌گردید،

Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book!

۲۴ 24 و با قلم آهنین و سرب بر صخره‌ای تا به ابد کنده می‌شد!

That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!

۲۵ 25 و من می‌دانم که ولی من زنده است، و در ایام آخر، بر زمین خواهدبرخاست.

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

۲۶ 26 و بعد از آنکه این پوست من تلف شود، بدون جسدم نیز خدا را خواهم دید.

And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see Eloah:

۲۷ 27 ومن او را برای خود خواهم دید. و چشمان من بر اوخواهد نگریست و نه چشم دیگری. اگر‌چه گرده هایم در اندرونم تلف شده باشد.

Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

۲۸ 28 اگربگویید چگونه بر او جفا نماییم و حال آنگاه اصل امر در من یافت می‌شود.

But ye should say, Why persecute we him, seeing the root of the matter is found in me?

۲۹ 29 پس از شمشیربترسید، زیرا که سزاهای شمشیر غضبناک است، تا دانسته باشید که داوری خواهد بود.»

Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
