ارمیا 43

۱ 1 و چون ارمیا فارغ شد از گفتن به تمامی قوم، تمامی کلام یهوه خدای ایشان راکه یهوه خدای ایشان آن را به واسطه او نزد ایشان فرستاده بود یعنی جمیع این سخنان را،

And it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking to all the people all the words of Jehovah their God, for which Jehovah their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

۲ 2 آنگاه عزریا ابن هوشعیا و یوحانان بن قاریح و جمیع مردان متکبر، ارمیا را خطاب کرده، گفتند: «تودروغ می‌گویی، یهوه خدای ما تو را نفرستاده است تا بگویی به مصر مروید و در آنجا سکونت منمایید.

then spake Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying to Jeremiah, “Thou speakest falsely; Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there;

۳ 3 بلکه باروک بن نیریا تو را بر مابرانگیخته است تا ما را به‌دست کلدانیان تسلیم نموده، ایشان ما را بکشند و به بابل به اسیری ببرند.»

but Baruch, the son of Neriah, setteth thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldaeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captive to Babylon.”

۴ 4 و یوحانان بن قاریح و همه سرداران لشکر وتمامی قوم فرمان خداوند را که در زمین یهودابمانند، اطاعت ننمودند.

So Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of Jehovah, to remain in the land of Judah.

۵ 5 بلکه یوحانان بن قاریح و همه سرداران لشکر، بقیه یهودا را که از میان تمامی امت هایی که در میان آنها پراکنده شده بودند برگشته، در زمین یهودا ساکن شده بودندگرفتند.

But Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, who were returned from all the nations whither they had been driven to dwell in the land of Judah,

۶ 6 یعنی مردان و زنان و اطفال و دختران پادشاه و همه کسانی را که نبوزردان رئیس جلادان، به جدلیا ابن اخیقام بن شافان سپرده بود وارمیای نبی و باروک بن نیریا را.

the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person whom Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, had left with Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch, the son of Neriah;

۷ 7 و به زمین مصررفتند زیرا که قول خداوند را گوش نگرفتند و به تحفنحیس آمدند.

and they went into the land of Egypt; for they obeyed not the voice of Jehovah; and they came to Tahpanhes.

۸ 8 پس کلام خداوند در تحفنحیس بر ارمیانازل شده، گفت:

Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying:

۹ 9 «سنگهای بزرگ به‌دست خودبگیر و آنها را در نظر مردان یهودا در سعه‌ای که نزد دروازه خانه فرعون در تحفنحیس است با گچ بپوشان.

Take in thy hand great stones, and hide them in the clay in the brick-kiln which is at the entrance of the house of Pharaoh in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah,

۱۰ 10 و به ایشان بگو که یهوه صبایوت خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: اینک من فرستاده، بنده خود نبوکدرصر پادشاه بابل را خواهم گرفت و کرسی او را بر این سنگهایی که پوشانیدم خواهم نهاد و او سایبان خود را بر آنها خواهدبرافراشت.

and say to them: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send, and take Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I will set his throne upon these stones which I have hidden, and he shall spread his royal canopy over them.

۱۱ 11 و آمده، زمین مصر را خواهد زد وآنانی را که مستوجب موت‌اند به موت و آنانی راکه مستوجب اسیری‌اند به اسیری و آنانی را که مستوجب شمشیرند به شمشیر (خواهد سپرد).

And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt, and deliver those that are for death to death, and those that are for captivity to captivity, and those that are for the sword to the sword.

۱۲ 12 و آتشی در خانه های خدایان مصر خواهم افروخت و آنها را خواهد سوزانید و به اسیری خواهد برد و خویشتن را به زمین مصر ملبس خواهد ساخت مثل شبانی که خویشتن را به‌جامه خود ملبس سازد و از آنجا به سلامتی بیرون خواهد رفت.

And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captive; and he shall wrap himself in the land of Egypt, as a shepherd wrappeth himself in his garment, and he shall go forth from thence in peace.

۱۳ 13 و تمثالهای بیت شمس را که درزمین مصر است خواهد شکست و خانه های خدایان مصر را به آتش خواهد سوزانید.»

And he shall break in pieces the images of Bethshemesh in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.
