ارمیا 18
| کلامی که از جانب خداوند به ارمیا نازل شده، گفت: | ۱ 1 |
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
| «برخیز و به خانه کوزه‌گر فرود آی که در آنجا کلام خود را به تو خواهم شنوانید.» | ۲ 2 |
Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
| پس به خانه کوزه‌گر فرود شدم و اینک او برچرخها کار می‌کرد. | ۳ 3 |
Then I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
| و ظرفی که از گل می‌ساخت در دست کوزه‌گر ضایع شد پس دوباره ظرفی دیگر از آن ساخت بطوری که به نظرکوزه‌گر پسند آمد که بسازد. | ۴ 4 |
And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make [it].
| آنگاه کلام خداوندبه من نازل شده، گفت: | ۵ 5 |
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
| «خداوند می‌گوید: ای خاندان اسرائیل آیا من مثل این کوزه‌گر با شماعمل نتوانم نمود زیرا چنانکه گل در دست کوزه‌گر است، همچنان شما‌ای خاندان اسرائیل در دست من می‌باشید. | ۶ 6 |
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay [is] in the potter's hand, so [are] ye in my hand, O house of Israel.
| هنگامی که درباره امتی یا مملکتی برای کندن و منهدم ساختن و هلاک نمودن سخنی گفته باشم، | ۷ 7 |
[At what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy [it];
| اگر آن امتی که درباره ایشان گفته باشم از شرارت خویش بازگشت نمایند، آنگاه از آن بلایی که به آوردن آن قصدنموده‌ام خواهم برگشت. | ۸ 8 |
If that nation against which I have pronounced, shall turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them.
| و هنگامی که درباره امتی یامملکتی به جهت بنا کردن و غرس نمودن سخن گفته باشم، | ۹ 9 |
And [at what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant [it];
| اگر ایشان در نظر من شرارت ورزند و قول مرا نشنوند آنگاه از آن نیکویی که گفته باشم که برای ایشان بکنم خواهم برگشت. | ۱۰ 10 |
If it shall do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, with which I said I would benefit them.
| الان مردان یهودا و ساکنان اورشلیم را خطاب کرده، بگو که خداوند چنین می‌گوید: اینک من به ضد شما بلایی مهیا می‌سازم و قصدی به خلاف شما می‌نمایم. پس شما هر کدام از راه زشت خودبازگشت نمایید و راهها و اعمال خود را اصلاح کنید. | ۱۱ 11 |
Now therefore come, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
| اما ایشان خواهند گفت: امید نیست زیراکه افکار خود را پیروی خواهیم نمود و هر کدام موافق سرکشی دل شریر خود رفتار خواهیم کرد. | ۱۲ 12 |
And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
| بنابراین خداوند چنین می‌گوید: در میان امت‌ها سوال کنید کیست که مثل این چیزها راشنیده باشد؟ دوشیزه اسرائیل کار بسیار زشت کرده است. | ۱۳ 13 |
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing.
| آیا برف لبنان از صخره صحرا بازایستد یا آبهای سرد که از جای دور جاری می‌شود خشک گردد؟ | ۱۴ 14 |
Will [a man] leave the snow of Lebanon [which cometh] from the rock of the field? [or] shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken?
| زیرا که قوم من مرافراموش کرده برای اباطیل بخور می‌سوزانند وآنها ایشان را از راههای ایشان یعنی از طریق های قدیم می‌لغزانند تا در کوره راهها به راههایی که ساخته نشده است راه بروند. | ۱۵ 15 |
Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways [from] the ancient paths, to walk in paths, [in] a way not cast up;
| تا زمین خود رامایه حیرت و سخریه ابدی بگردانند به حدی که هر‌که از آن گذر کند متحیر شده، سر خود راخواهد جنبانید. | ۱۶ 16 |
To make their land desolate, [and] a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and wag his head.
| من مثل باد شرقی ایشان را ازحضور دشمنان پراکنده خواهم ساخت و در روزمصیبت ایشان پشت را به ایشان نشان خواهم دادو نه رو را.» | ۱۷ 17 |
I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will show them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity.
| آنگاه گفتند: «بیایید تا به ضد ارمیا تدبیرهانماییم زیرا که شریعت از کاهنان و مشورت ازحکیمان و کلام از انبیا ضایع نخواهد شد پس بیایید تا او را به زبان خود بزنیم و هیچ سخنش راگوش ندهیم.» | ۱۸ 18 |
Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.
| ای خداوند مرا گوش بده و آواز دشمنان مرا بشنو! | ۱۹ 19 |
Give heed to me, O LORD, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me.
| آیا بدی به عوض نیکویی ادا خواهدشد زیرا که حفره‌ای برای جان من کنده‌اند. بیادآور که چگونه به حضور تو ایستاده بودم تا درباره ایشان سخن نیکو گفته، حدت خشم تو را ازایشان بگردانم. | ۲۰ 20 |
Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, [and] to turn away thy wrath from them.
| پس پسران ایشان را به قحطبسپار و ایشان را به دم شمشیر تسلیم نما و زنان ایشان، بی‌اولاد و بیوه گردند و مردان ایشان به سختی کشته شوند و جوانان ایشان، در جنگ به شمشیر مقتول گردند. | ۲۱ 21 |
Therefore deliver their children to the famine, and pour out their [blood] by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and [be] widows; and let their men be put to death; [let] their young men [be] slain by the sword in battle.
| و چون فوجی بر ایشان ناگهان بیاوری نعره‌ای از خانه های ایشان شنیده شود زیرا به جهت گرفتار کردنم حفره‌ای کنده اندو دامها برای پایهایم پنهان نموده. | ۲۲ 22 |
Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.
| اما تو‌ای خداوند تمامی مشورتهایی را که ایشان به قصد جان من نموده‌اند می‌دانی. پس عصیان ایشان رامیامرز و گناه ایشان را از نظر خویش محو مسازبلکه ایشان به حضور تو لغزانیده شوند و در حین غضب خویش، با ایشان عمل نما. | ۲۳ 23 |
Yet, LORD, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay [me]: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal [thus] with them in the time of thy anger.
