اشعیا 58

۱ 1 آواز خود را بلند کن و دریغ مدار و آوازخود را مثل کرنا بلند کرده، به قوم من تقصیر ایشان را و به خاندان یعقوب گناهان ایشان را اعلام نما.

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and declare unto my people their transgression, and to the house of Jacob their sins.

۲ 2 و ایشان هر روز مرا می‌طلبند و ازدانستن طریق های من مسرور می‌باشند. مثل امتی که عدالت را بجا آورده، حکم خدای خود را ترک ننمودند. احکام عدالت را از من سوال نموده، ازتقرب جستن به خدا مسرور می‌شوند

Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near unto God.

۳ 3 (ومی گویند): چرا روزه داشتیم و ندیدی و جانهای خویش را رنجانیدیم و ندانستی. اینک شما درروز روزه خویش خوشی خود را می‌یابید و برعمله های خود ظلم می‌نمایید.

Wherefore have we fasted, [say they], and thou seest not? [wherefore] have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find [your own] pleasure, and exact all your labors.

۴ 4 اینک به جهت نزاع و مخاصمه روزه می‌گیرید و به لطمه شرارت می‌زنید. «امروز روزه نمی گیرید که آواز خود رادر اعلی علیین بشنوانید.

Behold, ye fast for strife and contention, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye fast not this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high.

۵ 5 آیا روزه‌ای که من می‌پسندم مثل این است، روزی که آدمی جان خود را برنجاند و سر خود را مثل نی خم ساخته، پلاس و خاکستر زیر خود بگستراند؟ آیا این راروزه و روز مقبول خداوند می‌خوانی؟

Is such the fast that I have chosen? the day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Jehovah?

۶ 6 «مگر روزه‌ای که من می‌پسندم این نیست که بندهای شرارت را بگشایید و گره های یوغ را بازکنید و مظلومان را آزاد سازید و هر یوغ رابشکنید؟

Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

۷ 7 مگر این نیست که نان خود را به گرسنگان تقسیم نمایی و فقیران رانده شده را به خانه خود بیاوری و چون برهنه را ببینی او رابپوشانی و خود را از آنانی که از گوشت تومی باشند مخفی نسازی؟

Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

۸ 8 آنگاه نور تو مثل فجرطالع خواهد شد و صحت تو بزودی خواهدرویید و عدالت تو پیش تو خواهد خرامید وجلال خداوند ساقه تو خواهد بود.

Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thy healing shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of Jehovah shall be thy rearward.

۹ 9 آنگاه دعاخواهی کرد و خداوند تو را اجابت خواهد فرمودو استغاثه خواهی نمود و او خواهد گفت که اینک حاضر هستم. اگر یوغ و اشاره کردن به انگشت وگفتن ناحق را از میان خود دور کنی،

Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;

۱۰ 10 و آرزوی جان خود را به گرسنگان ببخشی و جان ذلیلان راسیر کنی، آنگاه نور تو در تاریکی خواهددرخشید و تاریکی غلیظ تو مثل ظهر خواهد بود.

and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thine obscurity be as the noonday;

۱۱ 11 و خداوند تو را همیشه هدایت نموده، جان تورا در مکان های خشک سیر خواهد کرد واستخوانهایت را قوی خواهد ساخت و تو مثل باغ سیرآب و مانند چشمه آب که آبش کم نشودخواهی بود.

and Jehovah will guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in dry places, and make strong thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

۱۲ 12 و کسان تو خرابه های قدیم را بناخواهند نمود و تو اساسهای دوره های بسیار رابرپا خواهی داشت و تو را عمارت کننده رخنه هاو مرمت کننده کوچه‌ها برای سکونت خواهندخواند.

And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

۱۳ 13 «اگر پای خود را از سبت نگاه داری وخوشی خود را در روز مقدس من بجا نیاوری وسبت را خوشی و مقدس خداوند و محترم بخوانی و آن را محترم داشته، به راههای خودرفتار ننمایی و خوشی خود را نجویی و سخنان خود را نگویی،

If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, [and] the holy of Jehovah honorable; and shalt honor it, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words:

۱۴ 14 آنگاه در خداوند متلذذخواهی شد و تو را بر مکان های بلند زمین سوارخواهم کرد. و نصیب پدرت یعقوب را به توخواهم خورانید» زیرا که دهان خداوند این راگفته است.

then shalt thou delight thyself in Jehovah; and I will make thee to ride upon the high places of the earth; and I will feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.
