اشعیا 17

۱ 1 وحی درباره دمشق: اینک دمشق از میان شهرها برداشته می‌شود و توده خراب خواهد گردید.

The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city, and it will be like a heap of stones in ruin.

۲ 2 شهرهای عروعیر متروک می‌شود و به جهت خوابیدن گله‌ها خواهد بود و کسی آنها را نخواهد ترسانید.

The cities in ruin will be left for the flocks, and they will take rest there, and there will be no one who may terrify them.

۳ 3 و حصار از افرایم تلف خواهد شد و سلطنت ازدمشق و از بقیه ارام. و مثل جلال بنی‌اسرائیل خواهند بود زیرا که یهوه صبایوت چنین می‌گوید.

And assistance will cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom will cease from Damascus. And the remnant of Syria will be like the glory of the sons of Israel, says the Lord of hosts.

۴ 4 و در آن روز جلال یعقوب ضعیف می‌شود و فربهی جسدش به لاغری تبدیل می‌گردد.

And this shall be in that day: the glory of Jacob will be thinned, and the fatness of his flesh will be reduced.

۵ 5 و چنان خواهد بود که دروگران زرع راجمع کنند و دستهای ایشان سنبله‌ها را درو کند. و خواهد بود مثل وقتی که در وادی رفایم سنبله‌ها را بچینند.

And it shall be like the gathering of the harvest which remains, and his arm will pick the ears of grain. And it shall be like a search for grain in the valley of Rephaim.

۶ 6 و خوشه های چند در آن باقی ماند و مثل وقتی که زیتون را بتکانند که دو یاسه دانه بر سر شاخه بلند و چهار یا پنج دانه برشاخچه های بارور آن باقی ماند. یهوه خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید.

And what is left behind in it will be like one cluster of grapes, or like a shaken olive tree with two or three olives at the top of a branch, or like four or five olives at the top of a tree, says the Lord God of Israel.

۷ 7 در آن روز انسان بسوی آفریننده خود نظرخواهد کرد و چشمانش بسوی قدوس اسرائیل خواهد نگریست.

In that day, a man will bow before his Maker, and his eyes will consider the Holy One of Israel.

۸ 8 و بسوی مذبح هایی که به‌دستهای خود ساخته است نظر نخواهد کرد و به آنچه با انگشتهای خویش بنا نموده یعنی اشیریم و بتهای آفتاب نخواهد نگریست.

And he will not bow before the altars that his hands have made. And he will not consider the things that his fingers have made, the sacred groves and the shrines.

۹ 9 در آن روز شهرهای حصینش مثل خرابه هایی که در جنگل یا بر کوه بلند است خواهد شد که آنها را از حضور بنی‌اسرائیل واگذاشتند و ویران خواهد شد.

In that day, his strong cities will be abandoned, like the plows and the grain fields which were left behind before the face of the sons of Israel, and you shall be deserted.

۱۰ 10 چونکه خدای نجات خود را فراموش کردی و صخره قوت خویش را به یاد نیاوردی بنابراین نهالهای دلپذیرغرس خواهی نمود و قلمه های غریب را خواهی کاشت.

For you have forgotten God your Savior, and you have not remembered your strong Helper. Because of this, you will plant trustworthy plants, but you will sow a foreign seed.

۱۱ 11 در روزی که غرس می‌نمایی آن را نموخواهی داد و در صبح مزروع خود را به شکوفه خواهی آورد اما محصولش در روز آفت مهلک وحزن علاج ناپذیر بر باد خواهد رفت.

In the day of your planting, the wild grapevine and your morning seed will flourish. The harvest has been taken away to the day of inheritance, and you will grieve heavily.

۱۲ 12 وای بر شورش قوم های بسیار که مثل شورش دریا شورش می‌نمایند و خروش طوایفی که مثل خروش آبهای زورآور خروش می‌کنند.

Woe to the multitude of many peoples, like the multitude of the roaring sea! Woe to the tumult of crowds, like the noise of many waters!

۱۳ 13 طوایف مثل خروش آبهای بسیارمی خروشند اما ایشان را عتاب خواهد کرد و به‌جای دور خواهند گریخت و مثل کاه کوهها دربرابر باد رانده خواهند شد و مثل غبار در برابرگردباد.

The peoples will make a noise, like the noise of waters overflowing, but he will rebuke him, and so he will flee far away. And he will be quickly taken away, like the dust of the mountains before the face of the wind, and like a whirlwind before a tempest.

۱۴ 14 در وقت شام اینک خوف است و قبل از صبح نابود می‌شوند. نصیب تاراج کنندگان ما و حصه غارت نمایندگان ما همین است.

In the time of the evening, behold: there will be a disturbance. When it is early morning, he will not remain. This is the portion of those who have devastated us, and this is the lot of those who have plundered us.
